Finca Bascella is fortunate to be situated at an envied end of track location, in the Sierra De Las Nieves national park close to the pretty hamlet of Jorox and a few minutes away from the white villages of Alozaina and Yunquera. All rooms have magnificent views of the mountains. Even the sea can be seen on a clear day. The swimming pool has a colour changing light for the ultimate atmosphere. Lounge has the quietest running air conditioning in the world. Choice of sun terraces,one being a 60sq meter roof terrace. Perfect area for walking and bird watching. However, Marbella Beaches and the night life of Puerto Banus are only 40 minutes drive away. Finca Bascella was built in 2003 in a envied position 550 meters above sea level giving it the best possible views, yet it is only about 1km from the main road. Wireless Broadband lnternet throughout villa and gardens. All bedrooms have sliding mosquito nets fitted to the windows and ceiling fans. We pay particular attention to the bedrooms and many guests comment on how comfortable the mattresses are. Quality bedding adds the perfect finishing touch.The Kitchen is extra special and has a large Range master gas / electric cooker. Pure drinking water tap. All new 2014. A feature is the double brick arch from kitchen to lounge. Water softener fitted 2016. Villa is 175 square meters.

Hola, my name is Jackie Saunders, the owner of Finca Bascella which I named after my black Arabian horse. I have two daughters both now married with children (plus a husband called Wally).

Why Jackie Saunders chose Guadalhorce (Costa del Sol)

After searching most of Andalucia over several months and looking at dozens of properties my husband Wally and myself decided to purchase a brand new villa in 2003 near Alozaina. This property stood head and shoulders above all the others we had seen. The views took our breath away, as we moved here from the national park on Exmoor I think you will have to agree they must be very special.

What makes this villa unique

Finca Bascella is at a end of track in a envied elevated location. This means perfect peace and tranquility. A perfect place to chill out. Watch the Bee eater birds with parrot like colours, which frequently fly over Finca Bascella. Or enjoy the many walks we have around here. 40 minutes drive gets you to the coast if you feel like a change.

Notes on accommodation: The property is suitable for children but they should be supervised. 4 Air-conditioning units. All bedrooms have ceiling fans plus portable electric fans and mosquito nets fitted on all the bedroom windows. We can supply just about everything you desire, all you have to do is ask. Outside: Swimming pool has a solar gain cover fitted to increase the water temperature. It can be removed and fitted again in under one minute! Close to the swimming pool is an outside shower. The villa terraces are covered to give shade. There is also a 60 sq.m. roof terrace which includes an 8 seater circular table with 3 meter canopy. Plus a 5 x 4m covered pergola. The gardens have palm trees and lavender plants plus the night scented lady of the night. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linen, which is of a high quality and towels (including beach) are included. These can be changed every 7 nights if required. Other: Hall with wood beamed ceiling double doors leads to one of the large comfortable shaded terraces with glorious views.

Just got back from an amazing holiday. The Villa is beautiful and the owners are lovely and helpful. We will definitely return. The villa is perfect and everything we could have wished for, very clean and well equipped, we had our 16month old with us and were delighted to find toys to keep her busy! You do need a car to get out and about as the Villa is lovely, remote and peaceful! Thanks Jackie and Wally, we hope to see you again!

Brilliant Family Holiday

We picked this as our holiday destination after much research on the Owner's Direct website. It seemed to tick all the boxes for us and be the perfect location for our family of 5 (including three teenagers.) Reading the description on the website it seemed almost too good to be true but, in fact it exceeded all our expectations. Following the drive from Malaga Airport we were warmly welcomed by the delightful Jackie who had kindly stocked the fridge with some provisions including some cold beers which were very welcome at the end of a hot drive. The villa is beautifully laid out, exactly as it was described ; - three good sized bedrooms (one with an excellent en suite), main bathroom and guest loo. The kitchen is equipped to the highest specification and it seems no expense has been spared. The lounge is big and beautifully furnished with Sky TV just to make sure the teenagers had nothing to complain about! The dining terrace room has folding glass curtains which open to the garden and pool area. The villa is approximately 1 km from the main road and the views from it are, quite frankly, breathtaking. We enjoyed meals on the roof terrace and the views which changed dramatically depending on the light. The pool area is also a delight and we enjoyed cooling off several times each day. We had hired a car for the two weeks and it is a necessity with the local village about 5k away. We had planned several trips away but ended up not doing as many as we thought simply because of the pleasure of staying in this wonderful villa. The lovely Jackie and Wally were on hand to answer any queries or questions we had and they really are the most welcoming and engaging hosts. I cannot recommend this villa enough. We had the most relaxing holiday we have had for years and if you make this your choice you will not be disappointed.

Malaga airport is a easy 55 mins drive from the villa. A car is recommended. We can advise on car hire.


The white villages of Alozaina and Yunquera are 4km away. Beaches and the city of Ronda 45 mins. Granada, Sevelle, Nerja caves, Cordoba and Gibralter about 2 hrs drive.

Further Details:

Alozaina and Yunquera both have a number of bars/ restaurants a couple of banks and small supermarkets. Alozaina now has a Dia supermarket. Extensive shopping facilities are under 30 mins drive away at Coin. Marbella shops and beaches 45 mins drive. Activities just 20km away, where we have contacts are horse riding, quad biking, off roading, archery, clay pigeon shooting, tennis, and paint balling. Worth noting is Alozaina has a 24 hour medical centre.
