Quinta do Montinho is a small community of beautifully designed village townhouses. The house has its own terrace and garden together with communal swimming pool and landscaped gardens. Guests can enjoy 30% green fee discount golf rights at Parque da Floresta Golf, together with many onsite activities including Spa, Health and Fitness Centre, floodlit tennis courts, bowling club and horseriding/mountainbike trails. Especially for children - The Floresta Fun Club is open to all young children and operates throughout Easter, July and August. A full programme of activities is available including treasure hunts, pony trekking, face painting and excursions. Coastline and Countryside Scenic Walks and Mountainbike Trails - South West Algarve. This area will never disappoint. There is so much natural beauty, so many unspoilt beaches and an interior that has a big heart. A large area of the coastline here is now protected & forms part of the Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vincentina Natural Park.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach is Boca do Rio, about 2km from the house. 5 mins by car or an easy walk or cycle along a quiet country lane, through a small valley, which is an ornithologists dream. Other local beaches include Salema, Zavial and Cabanas Velhas all within 5 mins drive from the house.The beach is fine sand. The beach is gradual for a short distance. The water is crystal clear water. There are good swimming conditions in cold water.

Travel:

The house is approx. 85kms from Faro airport, and transfers are simple. Car hire is recommended as the many wonderful beaches within the local coastline region of the Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vincentina Natural Park, must be explored and experienced.

Distances:

To the west of the house lies the old town of Sagres, with its famous 'Fortaleza' maritime school (10kms).

The beach town of Salema (2kms).

To the East of the house lies the famous nautical town of Lagos (10kms)

Portimao (20kms)

Monchique (25kms)

Further Details:

The traditional sleepy village of Budens lies just below the house and has a few wonderful and traditional restaurants, in particular O Tiago's.

Parque da Floresta Golf Resort hosts and exciting range of restaurants, namely O Parque, The Spa Terrace, The Blue Lagoon, Vincentino's Trattoria and The Blue Wave Beach Bar, which all offer a variety of traditional Portuguese and European cuisines.
