Isla Canela is located on the beautiful and unspoilt Costa de la Luz (The Coast of Light) in south-west Spain near the the border with Portugal, an area known as the Spanish Algarve and renowned for its traditional charm and hospitality, whilst remaining free from mass tourism, with the typically Andalucian town of Ayamonte nearby, it is the ideal place to discover the real Spain, whilst enjoying a relaxing holiday suitable for all the family. It is 45 mins from Faro airport and 75 mins from Seville, both of which are well served by UK regional airports. With 4 miles of sandy beaches, a marina with water sports, an 18 hole golf course, a protected natural park ideal for bird watching, a mixture of modern and traditional shops bars and restaurants, all within an exceptional natural setting, and of course a climate that boasts an average yearly temperature of 18c and over 3,000 hours of sunshine throughout the year, Isla Canela must be experienced to believe!

Bonito lugar y muy tranquilo.

El apartamento en general está muy bien. A un paso de la playa y con una estupenda piscina y plaza de parking. Amplia terraza y la cocina dispone de todo lo necesario. Lo único q hemos echado en falta es un televisor. Dispone de un aparato que reproduce DVD.

Zona tranquila de Isla canela, con algún chiringuito de playa donde comer.

Puedes visitar algunas playas de Portugal a menos de media hora en coche

Coast/Beach:

The apartment is located directly on the spacious sandy beach, which extends for over 4 miles, and has been voted one of the best in Spain.

Travel:

The apartment is about 45 mins from Faro airport, and about 75 mins from Seville, both of which are well served by UK regional airports, and have car-hire available.

Distances:

Isla Canela is 10 mins away from the picturesque town of Ayamonte, and within driving distance of the historic towns of Seville, Cadiz, and Jerez the home of sherry.

Further Details:

Andalucia is renowned throughout Spain for its flamenco, its year-round fiestas, and its food and drink, notably tapas and sherry. The nearby town of Ayamonte, with it's picturesque squares and parks, and even a modern zoo, is an ideal example of an Andalucian town, with plenty of shops, bars and restaurants, serving examples of the region’s culinary dishes including freshly caught seafood, such as tuna, sardines and shellfish, which can be seen being brought ashore at the nearby fishing village of Punta del Moral.

Whilst the natural park area at Isla Canela is popular for bird-watching, for those with a more serious interest in ornithology, the nearby “Marismas del Odiel” bird sanctuary is ideal. This protected area of tidal salt marshes boasts such birds as Flamingoes, Spoonbills, Eagles, Kites and Harriers.

Further down the coast from Isla Canela, is the famous Donana National Park,the largest national park in Spain, and covering an area of almost 300 sq. miles. It is a world famous haven for wildlife including the endangered Spanish Lynx, and has a number of walking and horse-riding trails.
