The villa is located in the quiet and exclusive area of Cala Llonga, 10 minutes drive from the capital Mahon. Built on one level the villa has a roof terrace with extensive views over the island and sea. A purpose built BBQ, and lots of space to relax in with garden furniture and sun loungers. Both front and back gardens are secure with gates making this an ideal place for a family holiday with extended family or friends.

About the Owner

We first visited Menorca in the mid 1990's and enjoyed a villa in Cala Llonga which belonged to very good friends of ours. In late 2002 we saw a small note in an Estate Agents window on our last but one day of holidays advertising a new development in Cala Llonga. We made a reservation on two properties and contracted for the building. We got a very good but basic build and in 2003/2004 we set about building a swimming pool,walling the two houses,landscaping the entire area (they are built on rock!) fitting the kitchens and installing air conditioning throughout. This while David was still in full time work so a lot of the work was organised by Ruth using her skills in design and layout. In 2009 we sold one of the villas keeping Casa Ana for family,friends and people like you to enjoy.

We love Cala Llonga and the panoramic views of the sea,La Mola and El Torro that we have from the roof terrace. Cala Llonga is a quiet residential area but only 6km from the beatiful port and city of Mahon with outstanding places to eat and drink. It takes less than 15 minutes by car from the airport. There is easy access to all the lovely bays and beaches of Menorca none more than an hours car journey and many within 20 minutes. The whole island has a quiet quality and there are many places to walk and beaches to visit with snorkelling a must for the enthusiast and beginner.Diving for beginners and more advanced is available throughout the island. Walk along the Port of Mahon and see the many sailing and power boats. Take a sea trip or hire a boat to see more of the island.

Special interest holidays:

Sailing and Scuba Diving are recommended. Many rural and seaside walks through pine trees and wooded areas as well as to first class beaches on the island. All within a short car journey. It takes 40 minutes to tavel by car between the two main cities of Mahon and Citadella.

Coast/Beach:

Cala Llonga is situated on the north side of the waterway into Mahon Harbour and Marina. The Port of Mahon is one of the finest deep-water anchorages in Europe, with shops, restaurants and bars all around the harbour. The beaches of Sa Masquida, Es Grau and Albufera National Park are all within 15 minutes car ride. The beach cove of La Mola is a 30 minute walk away.

Travel:

Mahon Airport is 15 minutes drive away. Car hire is recommended, at least for part of your holiday, but it is easy to call a taxi. If you want to hire a car we have used Doncars for many years and have always been happy with their service. Ask us for details as we have negotiated a discount (except during August) for those staying at our villa.

Mahon is 6 kilometers away.

Further Details:

The villa has both air conditioning and heating if required during the cooler months. Spring and Autumn are ideal times for a stay for those who enjoy walking or visiting the island for bird watching or simply relaxing in this quiet location. There are many places of historical interest and beautiful places to visit and the island boasts some 120 beaches.

The quietness and peacefulness with our own swimming pool there are often days when we just stay at the villa enjoying the sunshine. Our local mini supermarket a short walk away and in the evenings trips to one of the many bays for something to eat or just a drink before the fabulous sunsets the island enjoys. There are numerous bars and restaurants in the Port of Mahon where you can sit and watch the boats returning and the many visitors walking along the promenade. The old town of Mahon has its own special magic and bars where you can mix with the locals and do some shopping during the balmy evenings. Visit the historic 'La Mola' the fortress which you can see from the roof terrace or take a trip to Cuitadella the old capital of Mahon less than an hour away by car.

  • Notes on accommodation: Air-conditioning/heating. The gardens are enclosed and the place is ideal for families with children of all ages. There is Car parking for one vehicle. A quick and pleasant road trip to the capital Mahon the otherside of the inlet to the harbour takes less than 10 minutes. We are non smokers and ask any guest who smokes to use the outside areas and not to smoke in the villa at anytime. Outside: The gardens are spacious with a private swimming pool which is cleaned twice a week and surrounded by terracing and attractive Mediterranean style areas planted with colourful and fragrant shrubs, plants,flowers and fruit trees, typical of the region. There is a roof terrace with extensive views. There is a lot of space in which to relax and both front and back gardens are secure with gates. There is a purpose built BBQ in the back garden area. The front of the villa looks towards Monte Torro, the highest point on the island over which can be seen the most delightful sunsets. To the rear of the villas is the ancient fort of La Mola and the open sea. Utility Room: The villa has a service room equipped with washing machine, dryer and ironing facilities situated in the interior terrace. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: All bed linen and towels are provided as are pool towels. There are hairdyers for your personal use. If you require additional change of bed linen/towels during your stay this can be arranged through the management company at extra cost. Other: A spacious glazed dining room alongside the pool and garden. The villa is furnished throughout with top quality range furniture. If a cot and or high chair is required these are also available from the management company at an extra cost.
