Dear Hosts,
now I have recovered from a bad cold since coming home, I'm writing to tell you about our experience with your property.
On arrival we were greeted with broken driveway tiles and a horrendously scratched front door. Upon entering the premises the immediate reaction from all 3 of us was that it smells of damp and mould. Firstly we took a look at the lounge to find grime ridden sofas that haven’t ever been cleaned. We found mould growing on the inside of the cupboard doors!! Thank goodness none of us have asthma. The terrace curtains are stained and dirty as was the dining table and chairs. The TV didn't work which was fixed by Ross but only to break down again the next day!
Moving on to the kitchen. The cupboards, oven and extractor hood and filters haven't been cleaned in years. The cupboard and drawer fronts are all coated with a film of grease. The oven didn't work. The utensils are old and worn out, glasses and plates etc. many chipped. The Teflon pots and pans are scratched and totally unhygienic.
The bathroom is horrible. Mould between the tiles, a chipped bath with rust stains from a permanently leaking mixer tap. The valve to toggle between tap and shower water doesn't work properly and the stream of water coming from the stained and disgusting plastic shower head is almost non existent. All the supplied towels are thin, old and ragged!
The master bedroom has damp stains in many places, smells of mould. On inspection of the mattress it was stained and dirty. There was a plastic sheet covering over the mattress which was filthy and mouldy!!! The cupboards have a disgusting smell of mould inside too. The smaller bedroom mattresses are in a horrible state too.
In the hallways and all rooms there is damp and residue mould. We couldn't believe that fresh sheets and duvet covers were locked away in the hall cupboard so although we needed the duvets as it was chilly in the evenings we had to buy our own covers. On the 2nd day we wanted to move out but being Christmas we were unable to find any other accommodation in the area neither a house nor a hotel. We cleaned the house as best we could and had to put up with the circumstances which contributed to partly ruining our hard earned and deserved winter break.
Moving to the patio area, broken tiles and rough edges are a health and safety hazard. Furthermore, the metal steps leading into the pool are a death trap and my little girl narrowly avoided being badly hurt. They are comple
