Wonderful villa

We loved our stay at Villa Carmen. Beautiful villa within enclosed well kept gardens with private pool and outdoor BBQ and covered seating area, we dined alfresco most mornings and some evenings too. Plenty of room inside and out. The bedrooms are airy and very generous in size. Kitchen was well equipped. Villa was clean to a high standard with all linens provided and all beds made up ready. Close to the town, although Cala Egos is very quiet and limited open at this time of year, but it was a 5 minute journey to Cala Dor for more lively atmosphere with shops and restaurants open for business. We have booked again for October.

Overall a beautiful, property.

The only reason I am writing this review on here is due to the lack of response I have had from Steve the owner, trying several times to contact him with no acknowledgment.

I booked this property in May 2016, after researching several properties and choosing this one as it seemed the perfect one for myself and my very special friends celebrating our birthdays.

Initially contact in the beginning was great with Steve.

We arrived the property all very excited, only to be locked out. There is a gate to the property, then a key box on the door. Several attempts to contact Steve, I eventually got in touch with Arthur who manages the property. The gardener had left the gate closed, Arthur sent the cleaner who arrived.

There was only enough beds for 8 of us, when I explained to the cleaner there were 10 of us she was unaware. So I rang Arthur back, he came over and was competely unaware there were 10 of us. He said he would come back and sort the situation out and also make the sofa bed up.

There outdoor seating area was an utter mess, Arthur sent the cleaner back for that. The safety deposit box did not work. The pool was filthy.

There is no dishwasher as advertised. The roof top terrace was out of bounds, there was no gas for the hob. The shelf in the kitchen fell down. There was not enough sun loungers, and you are unable to get out of the main door once it is locked as there was no handle. We had to go out of the patio door to get out of the property.

So after Arthur saying he would come back at 7pm with the beds and to fix the safety deposit box, it was now 8pm. We rang Owners Direct who gave me Steve's number, called, emailed left message for him to call me back, no reply at all.

We then got back in touch with Arthur who said it would be nearer 9pm, (This was our first evening there, and you can appreciate we did not want to go anywhere until at least the safety deposit box was fixed.

At 9pm Arthur arrived with 2 new Ikea beds and mattresses, and bedding for the sofa bed.

We explained we had tried to contact Tony who manages the pool there was no answer, apparently there had been a storm and Tony was managing 100 pool, we appreciate that, however never informed that the pool was out of use.

Tony arrived at 7am the following morning.

This is a stunning Art Deco property, and with a bit of TLC and renovation would be outstanding.

I must state the only reason I am putting this feedback on here is due to the lack of communication from the owner.

Very disappointed

Good location , the problem was that the property has been let go with little evidence of any maintenance whatsoever . The property was dirty and. The sewage smell inside and outside was disgusting.

The pool area was in good order , television did not work, no ironing board, toaster not working properly

Top terrace inaccessible due to broken staircase. Main bathroom shower not working , beds and mattress not fitting properly . Overall we were very disappointed and would not recommend this property to anyone and had we been staying longer than four days we would have moved . Good resteraunts in the nearby marina and good cheap taxis within minutes regards David Roberts

Great outside space and large villa, however inside needs some tlc

The location of the villa was excellent, close enough walk to the main street of Cala Egos and the outside space was excellent and secluded. The pool was a good size and there were plenty of sun beds and outside furniture.The inside of the villa was clean and tidy and there was plenty of cutlery , plates, cups and glasses etc. We lost the hot water for a day and a half and when Arthur the maintainable guy came he advised that the air conditioning unit in the downstairs bedroom freezes up and trips the electric, which is on the same fuse as the water heater . Arthur told not to use the AC in the bedroom otherwise it would keep tripping. While he was there we advised that the tv was not working and he stated that it hadn't worked for a long time as the wind blows the satellite dish and it happens too often to get the engineers out so we leave it. So it is wrong to advertise it as having satellite TV if it doesn't, work and hasn't done for so long, this was confirmed in the comments book going back 2 Year!,!!! The downstairs showeroom never had a shower curtain and so I had to go out and buy one so that the bathroom floor wasn't flooded after showering. We have been holidaying in Cala D'Or for the last 28 years and stay every year in various villas and apartments, love the area and will continue to holiday in the resort.

Wow, Fantastic family Villa

We had a fantastic week in this lovely villa. The location was perfect - within easy walking distance to everywhere: Cala Egos, the lovely little sandy cove of Cala des Pou, and also the beautiful marina and Cala D'or. Fab restaurants! The villa itself has everything you would need, was very clean, lovely to have the balcony for 2 bedrooms, and an amazing pool and patio with BBQ and undercover seating also. Nice not to have to noise of busy hotels and apartments although its only a short walk to main area!

Beautiful family villa with pool and gardens

Wow, what a villa. Well furnished and clean. 4 double bedrooms with either double or twin beds, 1 massive family bathrooms and 2 further bathrooms with showers, is more than needed for families of any size. Private gardens and pool are the very stunning add extra to this villa. Full kitchen with washing machine was God sent with small children. Evenings BBQ'ing and Sat by the pool was a highlight, another was sitting on the balcony off 2 main bedrooms in a morning with coffee and sometimes breakfast. Only walk away to bars and restaurants. Land train can take around cala egos and to cala dor. Family friendly location. We also rented a car from airport, property was very easy to find using Google maps, once you get used to driving on the "wrong side of car and road" We Will be back. Thank you.

Special interest holidays:

Apart from golf there are many other activities to enjoy in Mallorca - especially out of the peak summer months. If you have an interest in golf, cycling, walking, birdwatching the apartment is available to rent all year round and will provide a very comfortable base for you to stay.

The famous Cuevas del Drach (Dragon's Caves), with their mile of stunning caverns and underground lake, are close by and well worth a visit.

A trip to Palma to see the magnificent Cathedral and the train to Soller with breath-taking mountain views are all worth visiting.

Coast/Beach:

There are 2 beautiful beaches within 2 mins walk, both sandy, sheltered coves with beach bars.

Within 10 mins drive are 5 more sandy beaches, providing ample space for sun-worshippers!

All beaches are suitable for children and safe for swimming.

Glass-bottomed boats take you right around the coast. Less than two miles to the beaches of Cala D'Or.

Regular road-train service from the door to all beaches and facilities in the locality, including the fabulous Cala Mondrago beaches.

Travel:

45 minute drive from Palma airport (29 miles). Taxi can be arranged.

Distances:

Location, location, location! 2 mins to the beach. 5 mins to Cala Egos shopping centre, 2km to Cala D'Or Marina with all its fabulous restaurants and shops and less than 3km to Cala D'Or centre, nightlife and beaches. Cala Mondrago beach and nature reserve are about 4 miles. Road-train available to many destinations. Waterpark 40 mins drive. Caves of Drach 30 mins drive. San Salvador monastry 20 mins drive. The markets in Santanyi and Felantix can be reached with a 20 min drive.

Further Details:

There are a full selection of useful shops (supermarkets, clothing, gifts, duty-free, car & bike rental, internet cafe, banks and ATM machines) and a taxi rank in Cala Egos centre (500 yards/metres).

Many bars, restaurants, entertainment, children's interests and other facilities within easy walking distance (500 yards/metres). Lots more in Cala D'Or!
