The Emir is an exceptionally popular development boasting 2 feature swimming pools, spacious sun terraces, landscaped gardens has 24 hr security & 24 hr English speaking reception. A 'meet & greet' service is provided for guests including complementary provisions. Free 'wi-fi' is also provided and the property also has a water reserve tank and generator for uninterrupted supplies during any water or power cuts.

About the Owner

We are Sue and Sean Flynn and we have just purchased the beautiful Villa Sultaniye. We have been visiting Kalkan for about 12 years and are lucky enough to have several Kalkan properties already, all wonderful apartments so we are delighted to have a villa too. We currently live in the UK and visit Kalkan 4-5 times in and out of the season. Hopefully in the future we will be fortunate enough to be able to spend longer periods of time in this wonderful location.

Another fantastic stay in Kalkan. The Su apartment is absolutely lovely, with stunning views and everything you could wish for.

It's our 17th year in Kalkan and we love it.

A nice apartment on a quiet complex

The property is clean, well maintained and has everything you need in a self catering apartment. There are wonderful views of the hills and the sea and it was very quiet. The staff that work here are all friendly and very helpful. Everything you need is close by, including a supermarket, bank and restaurants/bars.

We visited Patara beach, Seklikent Gorge (great fun), the town of Kas whilst staying in Kalkan and enjoyed all that we saw.

I would recommend this apartment to anyone i know.

Fine apartment in a good location

This apartment is set on two levels, with the swimming pool just a few paces from the door. From the balcony of the master bedroom, there is a stunning view which includes the steep mountains behind the village and the bay with its small islands. The shaded patio outside is the perfect place for al-fresco dining (if you get tired of the numerous restaurants in Kalkan).

The apartment is set in a complex which is about ten minute walk from the centre of the village. Supermarkets and restaurants are nearby. The apartment itself is well-equipped, clean and well-maintained. There is even a water cooler which takes away the need to carry large bottles of water from the supermarket!

The owners of the apartment are very helpful and will even assist in arranging transfers to and from the airport.

We would definitely recommend this apartment.

Best Holiday yet!!!

Had a fanastic time. Kalkan is beautiful, the people are so friendly and the apartment was lovely. Everything we wanted in a family holiday was catered for and the children had a ball. Aytac, Turgay and Hamza are such lovely people and work hard at keeping everything just so. Would certainly go back without a doubt.

We have stayed at Su Apartment twice now and would certainly go back. The apartment is lovely. It is clean, well managed, and the facilities are great. The owners are very efficient and the whole experience from booking to arriving home I cannot fault.

The apartment has great views of Kalkan bay yet is not too far up the hill so a perfect location for us with everything you need near by.

Restaurants are really great. So many to choose from. Our favourites were Kosk, Mussakka and Gourmet.

Stayed here 3 times and i love it so much! Its so homely and has great views. Very close to town literally 5 minutes away and nice and close to the market. Would definately want to go back!

Special interest holidays:

Kalkan is ideal for all types of water activities from water skiing to scuba diving. Kalkan Bay also has a Blue Flag Award for cleanliness. Walkers and hikers are well catered for with the ancient Lycian Way on the doorstep. This passes directly through the town making it ideal for anyone wanting to walk part of the extensive, picturesque route. Early morning horse riding lessons are available on Patara Beach and during the summer months Yoga classes are available on the sea front at the renowned Villa Mahal, only a short water taxi away. Kalkan also provides many opportunities for sketching, painting or photography as its flora and fauna never fails to inspire.

A local restaurant called Gurus has been recently featured in a national UK newspaper and is popular for its Turkish cookery classes which are a great way to meet new people in an informal setting and enjoy and introduction to delicious Turkish cuisine.

Coast/Beach:

Kalkan's pebble beach is close by, a max 10 min walk. The world renowned Patara beach is 15 min drive. There are also many other small sandy coves within 5 mins drive ie. Kaputas beach which is a beautiful secluded cove. Kalkan harbour also provides gulet trips around the bays for relaxing days out.

There are also many beach clubs close by, which offer free taxi services. Kalkan' beach clubs, are excellent, with sunbathing platforms, direct sea access & great lunches at on site restaurants.

Travel:

Throughout the year there are direct flights to the modern Dalaman airport. Here, you can either hire a car or I can arrange a private transfer for you. The trip takes 1 hr 30 mins and is a very pretty journey with breathtaking scenery with amazing views. Dalaman also has a brand new terminal providing a plethora of duty free shopping, cafes and eateries.

Distances:

There are many places to visit. Kalkan village and harbour are only an easy 5 minute walk. Kas is 20 mins drive or Fethiye app 1 hr. Taxis are very cheap. Patara beach, sited as one of the world’s top beaches, with its 18km of long isolated golden, unspoilt sands is only 15 mins away. Other places include Saklikent Gorge; Kaya (Greek ghost town, subject of Louis de Berniere's 'Birds without Wings'); Kekova; Lycian rock tombs; Xanthos; Letoon; Pinara and Tlos. All are within easy reach of Kalkan.

Further Details:

Kalkan is a small fishing village with winding cobbled streets and alleyways, which has expanded gradually over recent years. The ancient old town retains its original character, surrounded by the awesome Taurus mountains. At its centre lies the harbour with a mix of local fishing craft, traditional gulets and visiting yachts.

There is a wealth of superb restaurants, the best to be had in coastal Turkey and for which Kalkan is most famous. Here you will find menus to suit all pockets and tastes. These are mainly situated along the harbour front or on roof terraces offering excellent views over the sea, superb fresh fish and seafood. A wonderful evening can be enjoyed in a relaxing ambience soaking up the atmosphere of the village at night. Many of these restaurants feature annually in reports provided by national newspapers in the UK. Although sophisticated and chic, these have still retained their Turkish charm. Shops are very good quality with a range of merchandise available from arts and crafts to ‘designer’ handbags. There is a range of boutique style bag shops that hold many bargains compared to UK prices. There is also an excellent weekly Thursday market providing many opportunities for bargain hunting from t-shirts and jeans to spices and local farmer’s food produce. There are three banks with ATM machines close to the apartment as well as very well stocked supermarkets.

The balance is payable 12 weeks before departure as well as a returnable £200 breakages deposit (or a £20 fee to waive the breakage deposit). Deposit is returned after clearance with local agent. No pets allowed. Smoking inside the apartment is not permitted. Full details will be provided with regards to access to your apartment by the meet and greet service on your arrival at Su apartment.

Changeover Day:
Changeover day is flexible, though please check with owner as this needs to fall in line with existing bookings.
Check in time is 3pm and and checkout time is 11am though again this is flexible wherever possible. Staff are also able to store luggage.

Notes:

  • Notes on accommodation: Modern and impressive, the apartment is built to a very high standard. Antique marble flooring is standard throughout. Air conditioning is provided in all rooms (not just the bedrooms!) and can also be used to heat. The apartment is non smoking in all internal areas. An ipod dock and CD stereo is also provided but guests should bring their own collections. There is also an electric water cooler for guest use. A wood spiral staircase leads upstairs. The Emir Apartments are bordered by 'green land' allowing full, unobstructed sea views from the ground and first floors. The apartment's electric water heater provides hot water. The Emir apartments also benefit from a back up electricity generator in times of power cuts and there is also a water back up tank. There are car spaces for those wishing to hire a car though the genuine central location means this is not necessary. A safety deposit box is provided in the bedroom for guest use. Free wifi is also available for Su Apartment guests. Outside: The attractive, stone built apartment is located on the ground floor, the most enviable position of all, close to one of the large, impressive swimming pools. The uninterrupted views of Kalkan Bay are spectacular. Wide French doors open onto a spacious private patio, where you can take an al fresco breakfast or simply enjoy the early morning sunshine. The patio has a mosaic marble table with wrought iron, cushioned chairs and enjoys direct access to the Emir’s largest, private pool. There is also a small children's pool section. The pools are surrounded by spacious sun terraces with sun loungers and parasols provided for the sole use of guests. An additional pool is also provided for adults only. The Emir also benefits from 24 hour security and features private, landscaped gardens with many stunning fragrant bushes, shrubs and vibrant bougainvillea. The private patio is a perfect place to sip that relaxing evening drink and enjoy watching the sun set gently over Kalkan Bay. Utility Room: Washing machine, iron and ironing board, clothes airer.
