Detached Villa with Private Pool and Sea Views

Updated: 13-Oct-2016
Villa in Moraira, Costa Blanca, Spain - Peaceful Location 10 mins walk to beach

Los Algarrobos is a unique villa which oozes character. It is set in it's own very private and peaceful grounds with numerous wonderfully secluded sitting areas. The orchard provides guests with the opportunity to pick a variety of fruits. The 10m x5m floodlit pool, the covered BBQ area, bar and the well equipped garden kitchen add to the luxury of this villa. Inside, the villa itself is very spacious with a large living area and a fully modernised kitchen. Air-conditioning in the bedrooms. The wood burning fire in the lounge compliments the central heating making Los Algarrobos a wonderful winter retreat. The villa is situated in one of the most popular areas of Moraira. The nearest beach is only 2 minutes drive away (10 minutes walk) and the location is ideal for shops, supermarkets and visiting the many places of interest.

About the Owner

My wife and I live in Bury Lancashire and have both taken early retirement in order to enjoy life to the full.

We are blessed with two daughters and son-in-laws who have at the time of writing provided us with 4 grandchildren.

The villa in Moraira is our home for most of the winter and we spend much of our time there ensuring that it is in prime condition for all our guests.

faultless - top class facilities

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a perfect family holiday staying in this superb villa. We are regular visitors to Moraira but must put this house at the very top of the list of places to stay many reasons; mainly the outdoor living facilities are superb (love the bar and garden kitchen) and the great location. You can walk to local bars and our favourites Cascada bar and Algas on the sea front - then you won't notice the uphill stroll on the way back! On the plus side - being uphill does mean you get a great sea view from the balconies and what a way to have breakfast; there are so many secluded places to sit, eat and relax - as well as having a fully equipped bar and bbq area to party and socialise.

The villa easily housed 7 adults plus a very excited baby for a week and we all agreed - why go out when there are so many reasons to stay put and live like kings for a week?! (we did go out to the Olive Tree and had Tapas - which is a must).

A massive thank you to our hosts for sharing such a wonderful house and I am sure this will not be the last time we spend our holidays there.

The Slater's, Horton's and Peacocks. xx

The Wow Factor !!!

  • 5 of 5

Not usually in the habit of contributing to websites that ask for reviews but feel I had to add something regarding this fantastic Villa. have just returned last week with family in tow from what was our first villa holiday and hopefully not our last. Andy and Sue were so helpful answering my endless queries via email before our departure - they must have been tired of hearing from me !! Turning to the Villa - it was absolutely out of this world - on opening the gates we all stood back in amazement. Website does not do it justice. Like the previous comments we virtually lived outside for the whole 10 days - around the pool using the outside kitchen/bar/seating area for breakfast, lunch etc (we did venture out some of the time !! - and did not end up hiring a car - Moraira is walkable if a little uphill on the return & used public transport when we visited Altea and Javea.) Villa itself on the short time we were in it was beautiful, clean and comfortable with every home comfort one could expect. Couple of power cuts for only a very short period but again would echo comments of previous review - would rather have that than stay on some purpose built mundane complex!! Thanks to Andy and Sue - hope to visit again.

Fantastic holiday

  • 5 of 5

This villa is perfect for a relaxing family holiday. The outdoor facilities are wonderful. We spent almost all the time outside... you can cook and eat out by the pool which is large enough to swim properly. The grounds are lovely and private and the surrounding area is beautiful.

The villa itself has every facility you could wish for and the rooms are spacious and welcoming.

Sue and Andy are very helpful and friendly although I can't imagine any problems with a holiday here!

I would highly recommend a holiday in this property.

Perfect for large families

  • 5 of 5

Upon arrival, we couldn't quite believe our luck. The villa is enormous and the grounds are superb, with a huge pool and fantastic outdoor eating/living area. We spent a lot of time in and around the pool, cooking and eating outside most nights. One or two minor issues (we were the first visitors of the season) were promptly addressed by a helpful and apologetic Andy. Remember, this is a traditional, restored villa, not an anodyne, lifeless new build, so expect minor idiosyncrasies and Spanish 'features'. Indeed, for us, this is part of its appeal. Whist there are quite a few stone staircases and an un-fenced pool, I would still heartily recommend this villa to people with young children. There's a giant family bedroom, plenty of facilities for kids, pristine pool and a nice grassy area (where most villas seem to have nothing but patio).

The walk into Moraira is downhill and takes 20 minutes or so, with the walk back up the hill providing the opportunity for some exercise ;o) Parking was never a problem around the beach though, with a huge, free car park only a short stumble away from the sand.

Moraira itself is a pleasant town, and feels traditionally Spanish compared to some its neighbours along the coast. You won't find rows of sports bars and fish and chip shops, although you are likely to be greeted in English when you walk into a restaurant - it's a nice compromise between Anglicisation and traditional Spain. The beach is clean and attractive, and very busy even in June, but a short drive reveals plenty of other beaches to choose from, some deserted.

We loved every minute of our holiday here and plan to return soon.

Owner's Response: We. Would like to thank Daniel for his kind review. Once again it is the beginning of the season and our first clients will be arriving this weekend. As usual we have spent the winter making more and more improvements to the villa. We are striving all the time for perfection in the hope that our guests will enjoy a truly memorable experience. We are already taking bookings for 2015 so please book early if you want to avoid disappointment.

Lovely villa

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from our family holiday at Los Algarrobos and found the villa fulfilled all our needs and expectations. The owners, Andy and Sue, were very helpful and nice people to deal with. Beautiful villa in good, convenient location for the shops and Moraira town. We would definitely return.

From the Owner

We first fell in love with Moraira in 1997 when we bought a small property in the area. We find the people very friendly and due to the cosmopolitan nature of the residents there is a vast and diverse choice of restaurants. Due to there only being a small number of hotels, Moraira has managed to retain it's village -type atmosphere while, at the same time, offering lots of activities and places of interest to visit. Despite the fact that we have been there several years we continue to discover new beaches, coves and fascinating mountain villages where the Spanish way of life has remained unchanged.

From the Owner

One of the best things about the villa is the fact that all the family can come and stay and that we have a child friendly environment for our grandchildren to enjoy. We also take immense pleasure in our garden and enjoy the peace and seclusion of the different seating areas. Our guests love being able to pick their own fruit from a selection of fig, orange, olive, grapefruit, pomegranate, pear and lime trees. And what better way to enjoy your pre-dinner drink than by picking a fresh lemon to enhance your gin and tonic. A night-time BBQ or paella prepared in the spacious outdoor kitchen makes a pleasant prelude to the final swim in the floodlit pool.
