About the Owner

Dear Holiday makers. My husband and I live in Doha Qatar. Dougy (real name Lee) is a captain on a private yacht based in Doha. I am a Teaching Assistant in an international school. I (Jo) lived in our home in Coin for 2 years with the kids and really loved it. Dougy came home as much as he could but we really didn't get to see enough of him. This is the reason we moved. Although Dougy is away cruising with the boat, we get to see an awful lot more of him being in Doha.

Dougy was born in Zimbabwe, to a south African dad and English mum. He has traveled all his life living in South Africa, the UK, Spain, France, Holland and now Doha. I was born in the UK to English parents, from the age of 17 I moved away and have been traveling ever since. We met in Mallorca.

Dream Villa

Absolutely stunning Villa, cannot recommend highly enough. We had the best holiday ever, beautiful Villa in stunning surroundings. Lovely owners to deal with and lovely neighbour to help with anything. Heaven on earth, neither me my husband or 2 daughters wanted to come home. Will most definitely be back again, Douglas Creek is magical xxxx

Superb villa

Fantastic villa, very spacious and well laid out and had everything we needed. Loads of outside space for the kids to run around and lots for them to do. Plenty of places to sit either in or out of the sun. Neighbours very friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back.

From the Owner

We fell in love with this property as soon as we saw it. We have turned it into a great place to either live or come for holidays. It is remote and quiet yet only a stones throw away from everything you need. Douglas Creek has great views, which is one of the things I love about the place. My husband and I are keen walkers, so the surroundings are just perfect. We take our dogs down to the river which is close by. It is Ankle deep in most places in the summer so you can walk down the river as far as you like. You will come across a deep part for swimming now and again and also it will be bone dry in places. In the winter after the rain it is gushing and full of wild life. The area is also great for mountain biking, which we will do more of when our kids are older.

Special interest holidays:

With such scenic surroundings the area would be a paradise for landscape painters. There are many tracks for mountain biking or motorcross, if you have a your own bike, and walking with a river 5 mins away and lakes 30 mins for swimming with nature. There are many different species of birds for birdwatchers in the area. Horse lovers will find many stables locally.


The golden beaches of Marbella are 35 mins away as is the popular marina of the rich and famous Puerto Banus for a spot of lunch and people watching. The beautiful city of Malaga is only 30 mins away with it's own long beach and beach bars. Torrimolinos and Fuengerola both with aqua parks and beaches are only 35 - 40 mins away.


Fly to Malaga, Coin is just 40 mins from the airport. Cheap flights are available from most UK airports, 2 popular airlines are Easyjet and BMIbaby. Car hire is available from Malaga airport by booking on line and is essential. We will provide detailed directions when you make a reservation.

Further Details:

Coin is a small town but has all the necessary amenities at hand. It has 3 large supermarkets and a small shopping centre with a multi cinema showing original version movies. It has a local market every Saturday morning which the locals call 'El Barato' meaning the cheap one, well worth a visit and a large boot sale in the car park of the shopping centre every Sunday. Douglas Creek is on the outskirts of Coin at the base of the Sierra Nieves National Park so even though you have all that at hand you feel secluded in the beautiful country side. Just 10 - 20 mins drive you can visit several typical white villages where the locals welcome you in. A good way to try some of the local cuisine. Andalucia has many fiestas through out the year. During August the fierier is a large celebration in Malaga and Seville and all the towns and villages hold their own parties, each week in a different village including Coin.

From the Owner

The great advantage of Douglas Creek is its peace and quiet through the week. There are no on looking neighbours as you are surrounded by 3000 square meters of land. Also the neighbours all live in the town of Coin and only come to their country homes at the week end, so there is a little more noise around on Saturdays and Sundays. Although you feel like you are miles from any where the reality is you are very central and close to every thing. 10 Min's in the car you are in Coin town. Also 10 Min's away you have typical white Andalucian villages. And the 30 Min's you are on the coast. Just perfect.
