A Charming Hideout in Marazion

  • 4 of 5

Having enjoyed several excellent holidays in 'Trevara', we decided to have a change this year and go to 'Little Trevara'. Although presented to the same high standards, this delightful holiday cottage has a style and character all of its own. The kitchen, family area and large terrace on the first floor are arranged to make the very most of the open views over the sea and the imposing St Michaels Mount, while the two bedrooms and bathroom below are relaxing and comfortable. As always there was lots to do in the area, but this time - apart from visiting good pubs, restaurants and gardens - we tended to stay put and just 'chill out' in this lovely, tranquil setting.

An enchanting dream!

  • 5 of 5

This is truly a dream vacation home. The only problem with it is that you will eventually have to leave. The parking was a bit scary the first time but after that, getting in and out was very doable. My other concern had been whether my 6'5" husband would have trouble with the low beams... He did hit his head one time but that was when he was wearing a hat with a brim. Don't wear a brimmed hat in the house and the height of the ceilings isn't a problem. Staying at this home may've been our best vacation ever. Thank you Sally and Janet!

Beautifully located and full of character.

  • 5 of 5

The property was well appointed, full of character, very spacious and in a superb location with breath-taking views.

We had guests that had not previously visited the UK and they were very happy indeed to get a snapshot of Cornish life.

Both the owner and the housekeeper were an absolute pleasure to deal with, time permitting we certainly plan to return.

Lovely views and cottage

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay in April 2016, plenty of room for six adults.

Very comfortable cottage with lots of character and fantastic views towards St Michaels Mount.

Low door ways need consideration, but, by the end of the week I did start to get used to them. (I'm 6ft 3")

A lot of reviews that I read before booking highlighted the narrow entrance to to parking area behind the property.

Great care is needed, but I drive a Volvo V60 and my Sister in law drives a Renault Scenic, we both managed and just needed to fold in the wing mirrors on our cars. I also saw a Landrover Freelander get through as well.

My conclusion only extremely large cars or careless drivers should be concerned.

This was the first time I had visited Marazion, it is lovely, a few places to eat, a fish and chip shop, a couple of pubs and a Post office/convenience store.

Beautiful and spacious. Highly recommended!

  • 5 of 5

We had 4 adults and 2 children under 4 staying in the cottage and this place was perfect. Such a lovely cottage, views are awesome and there is so much space. Don't want to give too much away but highly recommend this cottage and has everything you need. The owner and the housekeeper was very accommodating and welcoming too.

Due to the time of year the local Fish & Chip shop was closed but the pub was very good at allowing us to take away their fish and chips which was yummy!

Highly recommend the bakery for Pasties and Scones and local shop has everything you need.

Fab holiday, thank you!

Notes:

  • Although old and charming, the cottage offers spacious living space, however because of the age of the property the ceilings are beamed and low so care must be taken in passing through doorways. Trevara is suitable for the elderly but the suitability depends on the agility of the person. There are two staircases and the toilet facilities are upstairs only. The garden is laid to grass and also has 2 stone patios. A table and chairs are provided for outside eating and drinking with lovely views overlooking the bay.
