The ground-floor apartment is situated in a prime location facing the main pool in the middle of the Old Village. Despite this, its location is very quiet, as the pool and bar close at 8pm and there are no roads in front of or behind the apartment. Please note that there are 10 shallow steps from the pool path up to the entrance. The Old Village is one of the premier areas in Vilamoura, with attractive buildings, cobbled streets and well-established gardens that are maintained in pristine condition. Restaurants, bars, supermarket (open 7 days) and two more swimming pools are within a few moments’ walk. The Old Village in particular and Vilamoura in general, are especially suited to family holidays and golf holidays. The apartment was fully refurbished in January 2010 to include new kitchen fittings, new floor tiles throughout and to add air conditioning. Wi-fi internet access is available.

Just returned from our 2 weeks holiday. We had a fantastic time and loved the apartment. We found it so convenient and surprisingly quiet considering how close it is to everything. We enjoyed meeting up with people we have met from previous years.

Perfect for our needs

I have been visiting the old village since 2001 I have stopped in many properties in the area but since I came across this apartment I havnt stayed in any other.it is ideal for a family or just adults.it is children friendly & close to all the resturants & shops.we have booked to use it again twice this year as the price is very reasonable.i have recommended this apartment to many of my friends & will continue in doing so as it is perfect for our needs & very clean modern & comfortable.

The heart of the Old Village

Wonderful trip back to Vilamoura and The Old Village. This is our very favourite part of the complex and the kids love being close to the pool and the playground. We've had a fun week here with family staying nearby, mostly playing football and building sand castles on Falesia, Olhos, and (our fave!) Galé beaches. Watching the carnival at Alte was also a highlight.

Lovely apartment, well appointed and the conservatory a great extra space. Can't wait to come back!

Brilliant

We stayed at this apartment for one week in September and couldn't have asked for more. The apartment had everything you could ask for. Fully equipped kitchen (including manuals of how to work the oven, washing machine, etc), plenty of crockery. DVD player, CD player, iPod dock and full sky sports channels which impressed the boys! The location of the apartment couldn't be better - directly opposite the entance to the main pool and just a few steps from cafes, restaurants and the supermarket. We dined in the complex a few nights but also had a lovely Italian on the marina which was cheaper than the on site restaurants. Bucanneers bar do an excellent Chinese takeaway for when u just want to chill in the apartment. All in all we had a fab time and hope to return. Many thanks Richard and Joyce :)

Appartment and Location wonderful. 7th visit to the Old Village and this was one of the nicest appartment we have stayed in. Every thing you might need during your stay is available within the appartment. ..lovley restaurants and bars just a hop and skip away or catch the little train to the Marina. .The complimentary Wine on our arrival was very much appreciated and such a lovely touch. The people that work within the old Village busily looking after us are so lovely.We all had yet again a very enjoyable 2 weeks and will be back very soon. We have no hesitation in recommending this appartment you will be over the moon with it.

Spent a lovely 11 days at the old village. Apartment is ideally situated for pool, restaurants and local shop.

Lovely walk to vilamoura marina where a good choice of restaurants and boat trips are available.

Had a fabulous day on the buggy safari and also at zoo marine.

Would definitely recommend to friends and family.

We chose the Old Village in Vilamoura because of its attractive surroundings, friendly village-like atmosphere and the presence on site of many facilities such as shop, restaurants and cafes, as well as 3 pools. We chose this apartment on the Old Village for 2 main reasons: It is right opposite the main pool entrance, giving lovely views, particularly at night when the pool is floodlit. It has a large conservatory, giving sizeable more living space than most 2 bedroom apartments on the Old Village

Nearest Airport : Faro at 20 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : Bar-O-Cafe at 50 Metres Nearest Golf : Pinhal at 400 Metres Nearest Train : Almancil at 5 Kilometres Nearest Motorway : A20 at 2 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Casa do Largo at 50 Metres Nearest Beach : Falasia at 1.5 Kilometres Car: not necessary

Coast/Beach:

The marina and beach is an easy 20-minute level walk from the apartment. At the marina there are facilities for boat trips, sailing, paragliding, deep-sea fishing, hire of jet skis, etc. The main Falasia beach is one of the largest stretches of beach in the Algarve. As well as being accessible on foot, it can be reached by a regular bus service. If you are renting a car, there is covered parking at the beach. There is a very pleasant walk along the beach, passing beach-bars and restaurants.

Travel:

Vilamoura is 25 km (about 20 minutes by car) from Faro airport. Car hire is not really necessary, but does allow easy exploration of the whole of the attractive Algarve coast and even the more remote west coast beaches can be reached in under an hour.

Distances:

Quarteira is about 3 km from the Old Village and remains essentially Portuguese, with a large market every Wednesday and a fascinating daily fish market.

Loule town is 20 minutes by car and has a weekly market.

Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Largo are also about 20 minutes by car – more golf courses, some splendid mansions owned by football and film stars and a Nature reserve with many marine and water birds.

The mountain town of Monchique is less than an hour away, with some spectacular views.

Further Details:

There are several bars and restaurants on the Old Village, supplying breakfast, simple snacks to full meals. There are many restaurants in Vilamoura, of all types, but the area is famous for its seafood and there are still many typical Portuguese restaurants serving traditional local food, particularly in Quarteira and Almancil.

We use local agents to look after the apartment in our absence and they also are available to help all those staying at the apartment. They have an office within 100 yards of the apartment and will supply the entry key, as well as:

Arrange bed linen and towel changes after one week.

Arrange car hire and/or airport transfer.

Arrange golf bookings at reduced rates and transport to the course, if necessary.

Provide local information and maps.

Deal with any problems relating to the apartment.

Booking Notes:
Provisional bookings can be made by phone or email and will be held for a week. To secure your booking, a non-returnable deposit of 20% of the total cost should be received by that time. The remainder is payable six weeks prior to arrival. A security deposit of £100 is required to cover breakages and loss or damage to air-conditioning and TV controllers. That cheque will be destroyed after safe return of the house keys and inspection of the property.

Changeover Day:
Preferably Saturday (other days are possible, but there will be a £40 supplement for a Sunday arrival/departure).
Adequate time is required to clean the apartment, so it is essential that the premises be vacated by 10am. Entry is not before 4pm.

Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in UK £. If preferred, payment can be made in Euros, by prior arrangement. Payment is usually by cheque, but can be made via Paypal using a credit card, in which case add 4% to the total cost to cover Paypal charges. Please note the Condominium imposes a charge for sun beds round the pool – currently 1.5€ per ½ day. This is beyond our control, but we thought you should be aware of it.

20% deposit required to secure the booking; the balance due 6 weeks before departure, along with a separate cheque for £100 as security deposit.

Manager's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund for cancellations more than 7 days before check-in date.
  • 100% refund for cancellations more than 14 days before check-in date.

  • Notes on accommodation: The Old Village is particularly suited to children and golfers alike. The terrace room can be closed off by the windows and French doors, without spoiling the splendid view onto the pool and forms an ideal area for “outside” eating at any time of year. Please note that there are 10 shallow steps from the pool path up to the entrance. Outside: There are three communal pools on the Old Village. The gardens around the apartments are a highlight of the Old Village and are well tended, with many bougainvilleas and other flowering shrubs. The Old Village lies between the 10th and 12th fairways of the Pinhal Golf course. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Indoor towels and linen are supplied, but please bring your own pool/beach towels. The property has a towel and bed linen change once a week – please arrange a day and time to suit you with the local agent. Other: Large terrace room, enclosed by windows and French doors.
