Stunning family child friendly townhouse with 4 beds and 2½ baths. Ideally situated in Benalmadena, within walking distance of the beach and the vibrant cosmopolitan marina with numerous restaurants, bars and small shops, yet in a quiet residential area. There is lots for everyone to see and enjoy. You can go to 24 hour square, feed the fish at the marina, go the aquarium, visit Tivoli Amusement Park, take a ferry ride or a cable car ride, visit a water park or just lounge by the pool.

Hi,

we are a family of 4 with 2 children (who were 1 and 2 when we go the house over 10 years ago). We live in Bucks in a little village where everyone seems to know everyone else (or at least know what they are up to!).

Now that the kids are at school we can only go to the house in school holidays, which is a real shame. My favourite time to go used to be May/June or September when it's warm enough for the kids to swim, but cooler at night - although the a/c sorts that out!

The extended family also go a lot too, from my in-laws (65) to my cousin and his young family.

Why Joanne chose West Costa del Sol

We got this house because we wanted somewhere that was very child friendly, that was big enough to take friends to and that had all the amenities on the doorstep, but just a quick transfer from the airport. We hope you will agree that we got what we were looking for!

The kids love going to our home in Spain and we so do we. We also hoped that our parents would all enjoy going and they go every year, at least once, so the whole family is happy. From our experience the house and the surrounding area has something to offer everyone and the feedback we get from guests is very positive. We hope you get chance to enjoy it too.

What makes this house unique

Even though we have a shared pool, it is only shared by about 20 houses and as most people that live there are Spanish (who prefer the beach) you often get the pool to yourself, which means that you get a much larger pool than in a villa, but it's almost like a private pool.

The large gated courtyard at the back of the house is fantastic for kids. They often play out there in the evening when it's a little cooler and my kids get the Spanish kids calling for them to come and play.

Everything is so close to hand, from supermarkets to hundreds of restaurants, the marina (which I love), Tivoli (which the kids love).

You can catch a train from the airport to the house for just over 1 euro, so with hand luggage I can get to the house within an hour of landing!

Hi Joanne, We all had a great holiday thank you. Your house is lovely & it really felt like home, (something i have not experienced in holiday accomodation before) and it really made the holiday for me. We enjoyed the cable car,Tivoli world, Paloma park, Aqualand in Torry, the beach, the pool and lovely meals at the Wok (all you can eat) a nice Mexican at the Marina,& some nice beach front restaurant's as well as some nice fry-ups at The 'Grand Final'. Notes:
Notes on accommodation: The accommodation is very child friendly with man, toys, books, DVD's, stairgates, plastic plates etc, (high chair and cot available to hire). We did this because we have young kids and it's awful to have to take half your house on holiday! The house is no smoking, although you can smoke in the garden. Please note this is a family house, we will not accept young all male/female bookings. Outside: Outside enclosed, safe garden with separate covered seating area and BBQ. Outside the back garden is a very large gated area that is great for slightly older kids to play in, again very safe. The shared pool is again enclosed, with easy steps into the pool. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The house is cleaned at the end of each stay. Payable locally by the guest. Other: As well as the sunny garden area, we now have a lovely covered garden area which has sofas and great to keep out of the sun or the wind. Lovely for adults in the evening. Check out the photo.

Great size house - lovely outside space

Joanne from the start was very helpful and provided all the information needed quickly, would recommend this house to large families, house is fully equipped (even with books and toys!) and is in a quiet area the air con was a god send as we were there in July! pool not even a minutes walk from the house, was quiet when we were there, took us 15 mins to walk to the beach as we had 2 wee ones with us with little legs! they weren't so keen to walk back up the hill... the adults however were all grand!

The Lidl just down the road was very handy and cheap, also the supersol up the road had a great selection of fresh bread warm every morning.

We found the area handy for the train station, which we used to get to the airport and to go exploring too, will be back in the same area next year but will be staying in an apartment as there will be only 4 of us travelling, but loved the area and will be back to explore some more!

Great location

Very nice house and very convenient for shops, restaurants, beach and bus services to other areas. We loved going in May when the weather was good and not too many people around, yet everywhere was open for business. Lovely clean, unheated pool - ok after the sun had been on it during the day! We had a great time there with family and a 4 year old who love the toy train. Thank you.

Great property in good location-Pool summer only

Property is excellent and exactly as portrayed in the pictures. Plenty of space and in a generally quiet location. Lots of hot water which is unusual for most rented accommodation we've visited so that too is an excellent point. Nice easy walk to all amenities and a €5 taxi ride if you've gone a wee bit further afield although the taxis for some reason couldn't understand the street name (probably Scottish to Spanish translation problems). Only disappointment we had was that the pool was closed. Joanne had pointed this out to us before we confirmed booking but we went ahead thinking we'd take our chances with the weather - we had 7 days of 25-30 degrees but this wasn't enough for the local management to open the pool (which looked stunning behind it's padlocked gate). Real shame so if you're visiting outwith the high season summer months, don't bank on it being open. Other than that, an excellent week was had by all.

Comfortable home for families with kids

We were two families, four adults and four kids, and we found the home very clean and comfortable. We made good use of the Playstation, toys, DVD collection and library of both children's and adult books. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable (really appreciated the light-blocking shutters!) with lots of closet space, and the kitchen was well-equipped (if lacking in some basic things like spices, which you'll have to supply yourself). Communication with the owner and the rental agency was fantastic. The location is good -- just a short walk to supermarkets and within 10-15 minutes of good restaurants and the beach. We also enjoyed eating outside on the patio! Unfortunately, the pool was closed the whole time we were there but that is certainly not the owner's fault, just bad luck for us. The only unexpected hitch was that there is no wifi in the house, which surprised us. In all fairness, the description doesn't list wifi so we should have read more closely but it is surprising given all the other amenities the house offers. We did a bit of research, though and found a good solution: portable wifi device rental (40€ per week) which can be picked up at Malaga airport (Arrivals area) and dropped off in a mailbox in the departure area at the end of the trip. This worked well and couldn't have been easier, so it might be really useful to include this information in the house description for other wifi-dependent guests. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the house to other guests!

Great house in a great location

Just home from our trip to this lovely house. The house was clean and spacious. We had 4 adults and 4 children on our trip and there was plenty of room for all of us. It was like a home away from home, everything we needed was there and there was a welcome folder with all the information we needed to enjoy our stay. We were in walking distance from the shops and local bars even though it was a lovely quiet residential area. We were also in walking distance from the Benalmadena Marina and promenade which was just beautiful.

What you see in the pictures is exactly what you get and like in other reviews we had the pool to ourselves most days.

I would definitely recommend this location to my family and friends and hope to revisit again some day.

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach is Carihuela Beach 10-12 minutes walk and has many bars, restaurants and shops. You can hire pedalos, paddle boards, banana rides and sun loungers there.

Travel:

Malaga airport is only 15 minutes by car. You do not need a car for anything. You can catch a train from Malaga to a train station El Pinillo 20 minutes walk from the house. We can provide a private transfer - please ask. A normal cab should cost €25.

Distances:

Benalmadena is great for everyone. For adults, the marina is only 10 minutes walk and is a millionaires paradise, with great shopping and restaurants. 24 hour square is right next door. You can catch the cable car into the mountains. For kids, you can feed the fish for 1 euro in the marina, or go on the trampolines and soft play (while parents relax with a beer), or you can get a boat ride and go and see the dolphins at sea. There is also an aquarium. In Benalmadena is Sewlo Park (a zoo), Tivoli World (a really nice amusement park with rides for all ages and it's really cheap to get in). For a few euros in a taxi you can go to a massive waterpark for the day in the summer. You can catch a bus for 2 euros at the end of the road and travel 25 minutes to Mijas where the views are amazing, you can get a horse and carriage ride, donkey rides, visit the chocolate factory and make your own chocolate bars, go to the bull ring or the local museum and enjoy a leisurely lunch or dinner over looking that entire bay.

Further Details:

Nearest supermarket is 3 minutes walk (Lidl or supersol). Nearest bars, restaurants 5 minutes walk and there are hundreds within 10 minutes.
