50 metres from the nearest ski lift and in the heart centre of Saint Martin de Belleville, a charming and traditional Savoyard alpine ski village within the Three Valleys, Chalet Alice Velut has been sensitively converted into 4 self-catered holiday apartments. Each apartment is self contained and offers external balconies and stone fireplaces. The apartments are equipped with fitted kitchens, WIFI, TV & DVD facilities with UK satellite channels, ipod docking stations and are in the centre of the village, tucked neatly behind the church, opposite the tourist information centre and within walking distance of all local amenities, shops and restaurants, most within a minute or two's walk. From the top of Saint Martin 2 chairlift, a new high-speed covered 6 man chair lift, you can ski directly down into Meribel, directly down into Les Menuires or across to Val Thorens. The skiing is fantastic, and the piste comes right down into the centre of Saint Martin until the very end of the season.

Covering the whole of the top floor of Chalet Alice Velut, Perce Neige is a wonderful apartment, very spacious and with stunning views. There are 3 bedrooms; 1 x double room, 1 x twin room, 1 room that can be either a large double OR a twin (ensuite bathroom) a separate shower room, a spacious living room (with 3 x bed-settees suitable for one adult in each), a spacious dining area, stone fireplace, a well-equipped kitchen and a spacious double aspect balcony. This apartment can sleep up to 9 people. As per the other apartments, Perce Neige offers a TV, DVD player, WIFI, UK satellite channels and an ipod docking station. Included in the price is bed linen, towels, electricity, tourist tax and logs for your fire. Log fire and double aspect exterior balconies.

About the Owner

We are a group of seven friends and family from the UK who purchased P Bar and Chalet Alice Velut in the autumn of 2011. Six of us live and work in London whilst one of us, Lucy, moved to Saint Martin from Australia to run the business. Lucy, a pastry chef by trade, had already done ski seasons, and had always wanted to return to the mountains. Saint Martin de Belleville, Chalet Alice Velut and P Bar are now very much her home and she looks forward to sharing it with as many guests as possible.

The property was purchased by a group of us. We loved the ski area, the Savoyard village and the location of Chalet Alice Velut, 50 metres from the teleski. The village is charming, and 3 out of 4 of us couples own private chalets here in St Martin also. I, Lucy, live here all year round with my husband and family. We are very settled and have no intention of going anywhere.

The summer season in the mountain is very different from the winter and for those of you who have not tried it you are missing out. The summer in these mountains is simply beautiful. Using Chalet Alice Velut as your base in the centre of the village you can enjoy an array of different summer activities including mountain biking, white water rafting, paragliding, climbing, horse riding, VIA Ferrata, tennis and spectacular walking/hiking.

Travel:

Self drive - takes between 8-10 hours from Calais / 575 miles (depending on stops/speed). Cross the channel by Ferry or Channel tunnel.

Train: Eurostar / TGV / SNCF - Take the Eurostar / SNCF Ski Train to Moutiers. Travel overnight, departing Fri PM and arrive Sat AM - then just a 20 minute transfer from Moutiers to St Martin. Return train leaves the following Saturday eve. By Air - to Chambery, Grenoble, Lyon or Geneva, then either hire car of take public or private transfer to St Martin.

Chambery - 1.5 hour

Geneva - 2.5 hours

Lyon - 2.5 hours

Grenoble - 2 hours

The local shops and amenities are all in the centre of the village and are on the doorstep of the apartments. The village boasts approximately 6 restaurants all within walking distance and there are the other fabulous ones within close driving distance, including the 3* Michelin restaurant La Bouitte just a few kilometres up the valley from us. The village offers also a Pizzeria, a Snack Bar, a supermarket, post office, laundrette, 3 ski schools and many ski hire shops. We have a bar, P Bar, and there are a cluster of other bars around the village. A large leisure complex with swimming pool and gym facilities is not far away in Les Menuires (10 minute drive).

Booking Notes:
25% deposit required. Balance due 8 weeks before arrival. Linen, towels, tourist tax and logs for the fire included in the price. Clients are asked to leave apartments tidy with beds stripped, rubbish removed and fireplaces swept.

Changeover Day:
Arrival & departures on Saturdays during the ski season. Apartments available from 4pm. Mid week stays available on request.

Prices shown for the two bedroom apartments are for the 55m2 standard apartment. Please contact us for prices of the larger 65m2 apartments.

  • Notes on accommodation: St Martin de Belleville is a beautiful and historic Savoie village nestling around a 16th century church in the heart of the 3 valley ski area, just under Les Menuires and Val Thorens. St Martin sits at 1450m, the same height as Meribel. The local shops are all in the centre of the village and are all within walking distance of Chalet Alice Velut, also in the heart centre. The apartments are just 50meters from nearest ski lift and are opposite the new tourist information centre. The village boasts approximately 6 restaurants all within walking distance and there are the other fabulous ones within close driving distance, including the 3* Michelin restaurant La Bouitte just a few kilometres up the valley from us. The village offers also a Pizzeria, a Snack Bar, a supermarket, post office, laundrette, 3 ski schools and many ski hire shops. We have a bar, P Bar, and there are a cluster of other bars around the village. Outside: All of the apartments have balconies. Apartments Iris, Violette and Perce neige offer balconies with outside furniture large enough for outdoor eating / drinking. Perce Neige has very large double aspect balconies overlooking the valley behind us.
