We have a minmum rental of 7 nights , we are open all year winter guests benefit from lower prices and wonderful winter sun . The prices quoted are for up to 8 people including children, if you have a larger party , up to 11 in total, ( 8 adults and 3 children ) please get in touch for a personalised quote. Our prices include games room , tennis crt ,maid ( bed and linen change once per week ) pool cleaning 2 times per week , pool and beach towels and management, also included is air con heating/cooling and pool heating ( set @ 22 degrees ) for these months , APRIL, MAY, JUNE , JULY AUGUST,SEPTEMBER AND OCTOBER.

Extra charges applied if you require a warmer pool ,( can be heated to 28 degrees maximum ) babies room £60 per week and the pool table which is 1 euro per game.

No air con or pool heating is included in November to march prices, please contact for details. The villa is our family home in the sun and we love it , and we invite you to share it with us. We have many who visit us year after year .

Our home is well decorated and cared for , a home from home with all you might need. Our management team also give you the peace of mind that you are not alone, meeting you on arrival, showing you around our home and showing you how things work, and if problems arise or you need further information ,they are there for you making your stay more comfortable,

The Villa is set in over 2 acres of attractive mature & secluded tropical gardens lovingly looked after by our Portuguese gardener who is on site every Monday and Friday afternoon ( weather permitting ). Large private swimming pool 9x5 metres cleaned 2 times per week . Our cleaner will be on site during your stay , keeping our home fresh and clean, we have an extra small babies /toddlers room in the bedroom downstairs which carries an extra cost which is an extra £60 per week includes all you would require for a baby/toddler as well as many toys to keep your little ones occupied in and out of the house and included in base price are stair gates and pool panels , with Unlimited wifi and English tv channels (provided through the internet ) ,outside speakers and i pod docking station so music can be listened to outside areas if wanted .well appointed villa with plenty of quiet spaces , relaxing bedrooms and comfy beds, featuring a well equipped country-style kitchen with ample cutlery and crockery fully equipped with all you would need, bosh dishwasher and washing machine, our outdoor eating area has a sink , marble worktops charcoal bbq, large round table and ample seating with fantastic views across the valley and terrace area . Open-plan dining and living rooms with exposed beams, stone walls & colonial style fans, open fire for autumn guests, Logs can be ordered and paid for on site . Shaded verandah leads to the alfresco dining area over looking pool and large terrace with stunning vistas, and being rural you can become immersed in the real Algarve.

A car can be an advantage and reccommend , but we do have guests using taxis for their days out and shopping trips, a small shop and bar are within a short uphill walk , and santa Barbara is a level 30-40 minute walk where you can tie in a meal and do the shopping before getting a cab home.

We are perfectly placed for visiting wonderful beaches , and all attractions are within 45 minutes drive ,nearest aqua park is 15 minutes( quarteira) away nearest beach 15 minutes away ( faro) and this beach has childrens play area and loads of restaurants serving up fresh locally caught fish to fantastic variety of meat and a long and wide sandy beach that goes on for miles so if you want privacy there is plenty of space for adults and children to enjoy.We are also well positioned for golf courses and wonderful local restaurants which are of a very high standard and very reasonably priced. With our home you have all the attractions of the Algarve on your doorstep without the huge price tag you would expect to pay if you were based at on the coast.We are 15 minutes from the fantastic town of loule with a daily fresh fish market , which also sells locally grown produce and a small but well worth a visit castle , loule also has plenty of fabulous restaurants and bars and a wonderful avinida to walk down and chill out on those warm Algarve evenings.

We saw 5 properties and this one had the best view, rolling hills , other lovely villas to look @ and the sea in the distance , even being able to see the waves on a clear day , even though the coast is approx. 10k away and wonderful sunrises and sunsets with great views from both terraces.

the grounds have been beautifully landscaped and cared for by our hard working gardener.

What makes this villa unique

The pretty village of Santa Barbara De Nexe with its quaint little street offering a variety of shops 2 suermarkets and 8 restaurants, numerous bars with wi fi english breakfasts and sky tv ,a bank with cash point, post office selling post cards etc and the 17 century village church, is well worth a visit, with its white tower visible from the coast during the day and lighting up the night sky as dusk approaches, you could say our little village is almost stuck in a time -warp. 30/40 minutes level walk from the villa or 5 minutes in the car.

The beautiful Algarve coastline with its golden beaches the closest of which is only 15 minutes away.

We are fortunate to have a really hard working and loyal team looking after our home and gardens, and making our home as welcoming and clean as possible for your arrival. Our team will greet you on arrival and any questions you may have can be dealt with then. We aim to look after you during your stay in our wonderful home making your holiday experience one to remember for all the right reasons. Perfect villa for a relaxing family holiday!

We chose this villa as we were looking for somewhere suitable for our small children (6 months & 3 years) and we certainly made the right choice! EVERYTHING that we needed for our children was available including stair gates, change mats, highchair etc which made us feel really relaxed. The villa is only a short drive from the airport which was great after an early morning flight with 2 children.

The villa and it's grounds are huge and really well maintained and you can tell that the owners put a lot of energy into its upkeep.

There is so much to do in the area with beaches, waterparks and theme parks that it was difficult to agree on what we would do each day as we wanted to do everything!

We ate out in a couple of the local restaurants and found they were really family friendly although our best meals were cooked at the BBQ!

Once the children were in bed it was great to sit on the veranda at night, have some adult time and plan our next trip to Casa Crianca!!

Lovely villa

An absolutely wonderful villa with all you could possibly need for a fantastic family holiday. The owners were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish, and the management company were extremely helpful during our stay. We spent most of our time making use of the great outside space particularly enjoying the BBQ and outdoor eating area. The pool is lovely (and can be heated) and the added child safely equipment gave us extra peace of mind travelling with an adventurous 4 yr old. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the villa and would most certainly return again.

beautiful villa but never felt welcome

We cannot fault the villa itself and beautiful location, but sadly I feel compelled to write some home truths here. We stay in villas every year all over the world and I have never come across the situations we found ourselves in here. Firstly, the property manager is round every few days making sure nothing is broken. There are signs up all over the house telling you what you can and can't do. You pay 50 quid to hire the tiny games room and then have to pay 1 Euro per game of pool. If you hire the tennis court then you pay for rackets, balls. When you leave, bearing in mind the 10am departure time, both the manager and cleaner arrive at 9am and chase you out. Whilst we were there, wild dogs got into the property nightly, making a mess in the garden and tennis court. The manager said it was a first and had no idea how they got in, until I pointed out that one unfenced side of the house backed onto scrubland. At 5am the alarm went off one day, and when an electrician came round when we were out, he broke the kettle (which we were then charged for). When we left, all the chairs, Sun loungers were put away barring 2 of each, as a couple were arriving - we only hope they had no friends coming round. If you don't hire all the bedrooms, the spare ones are locked. Now whilst most of this is known upfront, the whole package ends up making you feel uncomfortable and simply cattle to pay the mortgage. Never have we felt like this in the dozens of houses we've stayed in. I'm surprised I'm giving it a 3 star rating but it's a beautiful house sadly let down by an overbearing manager and owners intent on bleeding their guests, having lost sight of the reason we all hire these villas - to have a relaxing and stress-free holiday!

Perfect Portugal

As a first timer to Portugal, I was most impressed with Casa da Crianca and the surrounding area. This villa is beautiful, superbly equipped with en-suites to every room, with the recent addition of air con if needed (which we didn't as the interior remained delightfully cool), lovely well equipped kitchen and a pool, terrace and most interesting and extensive gardens as well as a great games room, in which we enjoyed playing pool and table football! The villa is situated in the hills above Faro with a splendid view of the sea from which it receives cooling winds. Fortunately there are a couple of extensively equipped shops, a bakery and bar within easy walking distance of the villa and a small town, Santa Barbara which boasts a number of bars, restaurants, shops and a bank - everything you could need within a few miles walk or short drive. In fact, one would not need to stray very far from the villa at all during a stay, which would be a pity as Portugal seems to have so much to offer. I shall be back!

A Safe Haven

Nine of us including 3 children, ages 5 to 16 months, got together for a family celebration. We couldn't have chosen a better place.

The facilities are 1st class even down to stair gates and buckets and spades for the children on the beach, if we could drag them away from the pool that is. Recommend having heating for the pool especially with little ones. Plenty of room for everyone to escape for a quiet time if wanted (who wouldn't with grandparents on hand?!)

Villa is off the beaten track but with good restaurants a short distance away, recommend La Piazza in the village.

After our week the cry went up "let's do this again next year" , can I say more.

Paradise in the sun

We had a fabulous two weeks at Casa da Crianca with all of our family. The Villa is simply stunning. The rooms are attractive and comfortable; the gardens are immaculate and well-maintained; the pool is relaxing and spacious; and the facilitaties (e.g. Tennis Court and Games room) are well worth taking advantage of. Overall, we could not have wished for a better place to spend precious holiday time with the people that matter most to us. We would certainly recommend the Villa to anyone looking for a special place for their holiday.

CHILD FRIENDLY VILLA Children under 11 will have pool area fenced off and gated .Under fives provided with child safety gates bottom of stairs and outside gates , these will be put up prior to arrival. These gates are compulsary as we need to comply with with portugues laws and included in the price.

TODLER PACK £60 per week includes all these items.

1-2 will be provided with wooden cot/day bed,travel cot, changing mat, toys, pool toys, beach toys (bucket spades etc) dvds videos ,books , water proof mattresses , bedding cuddly toys , potty, toilet seat, , high chair, dressing up box, plastic cutlery all your todler would want babies/ todlers room is incorporated in Master bedroom on the ground floor (is completely self-contained) Items listed above only available with the bedroom rental.

Coast/Beach:

The Beautiful Algarve Coast is within a 15 minute drive.The Algarve has many outstanding beaches many within 20 minutes drive, small coves, Beautiful Golden Sand beaches for endless fun. Many attractions are to be found; swimming with Dolfins, Jeep Safari days out, beach activities and many wonderful beach and waterfront restaurants. If you have never been to Portugal before and so many people have not , you will find it's a superb destination, we cannot recommend it highly enough!

Travel:

Faro airport and our nearest beach is 15 minutes drive away, Cab cost from the airport is around 25 euros if all your cases do not fit in the hired car. Being so close to the airport means ease of access and does not prolong your journey , when you arrive at our stunning villa you will be blown away with its position , with stunning views and a wealth of extras that make our home well worth a visit.

Distances:

Santa Barbara de Nexe 30 minute Leisurely walk. 3 minutes by car. The Village includes a Bank, Post Office, Doctors dentist Pharmacy, Mini Super Market and a much larger one near the petrol station, 2 Baker/Patisseries serving some fantastic cakes and snacks, numerous Bars & Restuarants and the Delightful 17th Century Church, with its White-washed walls & Bell Tower. . The Market town Loule is apx 20mins to the west, while just 10 mins drive to east you will find Estoi, with its wonderful palace Roman ruins and fantastic bars restaurants and wonderful old church and square, with Olhao & Tavira lying enroute to Spain only 40mins drive

Further Details:

A car is not essential if you are worried about driving abroad, (WE have had several clients over the years that have decided not to Hire a car.)

Taxis are cheap and are constantly used by guests to and from the shops and to our many local restaurants 8 being in the Village.

Health and safety rules apply while using the pool , and terraces, which can become slippery with excessive water and sun tan lotion internal marble floors can also be slippery when wet.
Vacate by 10am on departure day , ( if we have no following guests and you have a late flight then you may extend your departure time ) and please try to leave our home as you found it putting back any furniture that you have moved and leaving it clean and tidy. There may be added costs should you leave our home in a mess on departure.
