About the property

Villa in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote - Quiet Resort 5 Mins Drive To Restaurants And Beach

Spacious contemporary villa. Suitable for families or couples wanting a relaxing holiday. Heated pool. Large private patio, with 2 outside eating areas. Built in large BBQ. 50' flat screen TV with ALL uk channels. We also have German, French, Italian TV channels. Floor fans in bedrooms. Facilities for babies. Luxury mattresses on the beds. Black out blinds in all rooms, keeping them cool, and nice and dark for getting the kids to sleep. Endeavoured to create a contemporary and luxurious feel to the property. You may notice other villas in the area that look similar to ours. Our point of difference is that we are on the edge of the development and have open views to the seas horizon, others are penned in. We have heightened the adjoining walls to our neighbours so you have a very private sun terrace. We doubled the size of the standard patio, and landscaped the gardens with palms and plants. We have had a large BBQ built. All beds have very comfy mattresses and good quality bedlinen.

About George Rashbrook

Hello. My name is George. I am 52, and married with 2 kids, who are both in University now.

We live in West Wales, and own a Pub in a beautiful village.

We bought the Villa as a new build, and use it once a year for our family holiday, and rent it out for the rest of the time.

George Rashbrook purchased this villa in 2006

Why George Rashbrook chose Yaiza

There are alot of villas in this area that look the same. We chose ours because it was on the edge of the development. This gives it open views to the seas horizon. It is also the biggest plot, so has land around it giving it space to add privacy. The wall next to our neighbour we have raised so you have complete privacy and peace. We have fitted the villa as we would want it, so super comfy beds, modern twist, with built in BBQ, extended patio, and extensively landscaped garden.

You can walk along the rocky coastal path with is 5 minutes walk away. It is very quiet, but not far from the restaurants, bars and shops.

What makes this villa unique

Peace, privacy, open views. Space. Comfort. Everything has been done properly. No cheap nasty furniture or crockery. Tried to make everything nice.

Notes on accommodation: Large windows or doors in all rooms, letting in plenty of air in the day or night. Black out blinds between window and curtain providing a shield from the suns heat, and also making it dark for the kids. Lit outside area, creates a lovely atmosphere. Lit pool for night time swims. We supply a good hair drier for the ladies (my wifes idea),it creates more room in the luggage !!). Microwave bottle steriliser or the babies. We have a cot. High chair. We have aimed to use the best of everything and not done anything on the cheap to give you a really great luxury holiday. It is well maintained, the pool is cleaned and chemical checked weekly. Outside: 6 cushioned sun loungers. Outside wooden table, 2 benches, 2 armchairs. Outside fixed seating area, large marble table, seating for 8. Large purpose built BBQ. Very big patio. Raised adjoining walls to give additional privacy. Private pool, heated. It is hard to convey the peace and privacy of our villa pictorially, but if you email me I can send you more pics. As it is on the edge of the development it has lovely open views to the seas horizon, and cliff top walks. Other villas similar to ours are overlooked on all four sides. Our adjoining walls have been extended to above eye height maximising your privacy. We have had the garden landscaped with palms and plants. The standard villa patio is small so we have made ours much bigger. it is very private and very quiet. Utility Room: Washing machine, drying rack and pegs. Mops, buckets, (if you get the urge!). Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen provided. Also beach towels. 2 week visits get towel and bed linen change. We use an English run company for cleaning and maintenance, and they can be called for advice or if you have any probs. Other: Two outside eating areas. 1 covered patio to the front of the lounge. Wooden table and seating for 6. The second is a fixed area to the side of the house, covered, nicely lit, with a fixed marble table and seating for 8. Large built in brick BBQ.

Lovely and well appointed villa

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in January 18, just for a week. There’s everything you would need for a short break like ours or a longer stay. The bedrooms are very well appointed with comfortable beds (really loved the memory foam pillows - will be buying our own!!) and plenty of storage space. The kitchen has everything you need and more, the bathrooms are excellent -plentiful supply of hot water. There are comfortable leather sofas in the lounge and a great large screen TV with all the English TV channels you could wish for, including Sky Movies & Sports. We ate outside (even in January), Breakfast by the poolside and evening meals when we were in on the other massive table at the side of the house. There’s a built in barbecue for those who like to cook al fresco. The small out house has a washing machine plus clothes horse for drying and an iron too.

The location of the complex is towards the end of the Playa Blanca resort, so unless you’re happy staying put and using the few local restaurants (5 mins walk) and mini market (much more expensive than the supermarkets), you really need a car. The complex is very quiet and private, and the locked gates ensure you feel secure.

It’s about 5 minutes drive or an hours walk to the main part of Playa Blanca, and a further couple of minutes drive to one of our favourite locations on the island, Marina Rubicon. It’s also a very short drive to the beautiful beaches at Papagayo where you won’t be disappointed with the scenery.

We were really pleased with our choose of villa and will certainly use again if we go back to the Playa Blanca area.

Christmas and New Year 2017

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful Christmas and New Year at this Villa .

It really was a home away from home with all the home comforts

We enjoyed lazy days by the pool and used the BBQ a few times

The privacy and quietness of the Villa really appealed to us and the views were just stunning. The beds were really comfy , WIFI great and TV had a wide variety of choice

We hired a Car to venture around the Island .The heated pool was a real gem for our 8 year old .

The Villa is a short walk to a small shopping area with a good choice of restaurants , supermarket and Bar and you can order take away if you don't fancy cooking .

All in all we had a great stay and can't wait to return .

Excellent villa

  • 5 of 5

We choose this villa partly because of previous good reviews, and we weren't disappointed! After a delayed flight we followed the very clear directions given by George. We were impressed and pleased with how clean the villa was, the folders of information on how everything worked, the taxi number to get into town, which is well worth using as parking is at a premium now as the resort is so busy. We had a good week of weather in the end, as it was extremely windy to start and we had to wait for the sun, when you found a sheltered spot it was boiling! We were glad of the internet tv to watch on a couple of days while waiting for the clouds to blow over.

We have tried a few villas over the years, and can honestly say that Villa Olimi had been the best one, its clean, spacious, with very comfortable beds. The attention to detail from the owner, the very nice pool man and the villa manager is a welcome change.

We would not hesitate to choose this villa again for another holiday.

Everything you need, cant wait to go back

  • 5 of 5

It's has been more than two month since we got back from Lanzarote and the entire family agrees that were ready for another holiday in your lovely villa. It was everything we wanted it to be and more and we will definitely be back!

We all had a fabulous time in Lanzarote and the villa was just perfect for our family holiday and catered for us in every way we needed, we haven't stopped talking about the place with our friends and highly recommended Villa Olimi to them so business may be coming your way soon.

Thank you for everything George as you are very accommodating.

Brilliant family chill out holiday

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for 10 days with my wife, son, daughterin law and 4.5 month grand daughter. Cot, high chair and microwave steriliser were great to assist the baby. Kitchen had all items required including a dishwasher. Lounge comfy and and massive satellite tv with very basic and no UK channels. We utilised the WiFi which allowed us to use the tv and film downloads. Bedrooms and bathrooms were ideal for parents and grand parents to use separately. There is a utility room next to the outdoor seating area which houses the washing machine. The machine was old and about pack it in after years of use. We spoke to George and he arranged a brand new machine which was installed within a day. As you can imagine, we used the washing machine every day a number of times as you would back home. George acted promptly to our emails and Karen and Mike who oversee the villa locally made a visit. There is a nice built in BBQ which we used every second day to eat alfresco. The pool is very clean and heated. It is maintained weekly and we loved the fact that the baby could enjoy her first swimmimg lessons. There is a pool cover which helps with keeping the heat in and clean. Location wise, there is a need to use a car and travel into town which is a couple of minutes away. We shopped at the Hyper Dino in town and also at the Marina. There is a underground car park for the town shop and if can do your shop within a hour, there is no charge to leave the carpark. There is also shops across the road and down a lane where there is a couple of pubs, supermarket and restaurant. We ate at the La Flamenca on the Friday night after booking it on the Tuesday. Food was tremendous, especially the seafood and big portions. Recommend it highly. We also used to walk from the villa with the pram right along the coastal path past all the hotels and accomodations leading to the port. It is fairly undulating but you get an apetite for cake, coffee or iced drinks. We stopped at the Playa Blanca restaurant for rest and refreshments. Staff are excellent. We also ate there on the Sat night. Again food great and big portions.

The villa is definetely home from home in the sun. It is very quiet and private and allows you to totally chill. We will definetely consider a return as it meets all our needs especially with an expanding family. Big thanks to George for all his assistance, booking process and advice. Had brilliant family chill out time, plus the weather was fabulous. Recommend you will enjoy !

5 mins to Playa Flamingo by car. Easy parking. Easy drive. Straight road. Excellent family beach. (10 mins from Papagayo beach). Never too crowded. Bars and restaurants here too. Sea not too deep or choppy, really good, white sand, kids love it. Sun loungers to rent, 7 euros for 2 with an umbrella.

Arrecife Airport is 35 mins drive away. Car hire recommended. Airport fairly small, so car hire is easy. We know a good guy who is reasonable and delivers to the airport if you would like his number. Route to the villa is easy, fairly straight roads, only roundabouts to negotiate.

There is a Bus Service that is every half hour into Playa Blanca. The Bus stop is 5 minutes walk away. Its a really good modern service.

5 mins by car to beach and main shopping area. 15 mins to the Marina Rubicon, more restaurants, up market shops, and yachts to admire.

Further Details:

Spanish, Indian and Chinese restaurants, bar, close to the villa. By car you have Playa Flamingo (beach) and Playa Blanca (small town) where you can find plenty of shops for gifts, provisions and restaurants. Nothing is too far away. Quiet roads, not too busy.

If you are travelling with a large party, we have friends who let their villa out which is next to ours, and identical. Pls let us know if you would like to try and book this at the same time.

Great Diving with the Rubicon Marina Diving School.
