'Thank you so much for a wonderful stay in Gaucin. We enjoyed every minute of it. The house was perfect, the sun was shining and the white village treated us so well. We will return.' Vår Staude, Norway 2014

'We have just returned from an idyllic week in Gaucin. We had to let you know how much we loved Casa Mihrab. From the moment that we arrived and received a warm welcome from Esther and Brett we settled into the lovely, relaxed way of life that the house and village afford anyone staying there. The views from the top floor were to die for and we have returned both recharged and refreshed having walked for miles in the surrounding hills, just perfect.' Len+Teresa, UK 2013

The house is delightful, fully matching the promise of the website. It is characterful and spacious within and, of course, the views from the terraces are wondeful. Alan + Elaine UK 2012

This is one of the nicest properties we have ever stayed in, fantastic.

Jenny and Mark's house is lovely. It exceeded all expectations. It was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished, and has many personal touches which make it feel like a loved home rather than a rented house. The decor was very tasteful and the Moroccan touches lovely. The views from the 2 terraces are spectacular and the top floor, the living room, is wonderfully light; we ate all our meals here. The kitchen is really well equipped and is another lovely, spacious room. The large shower on the ground floor is just great! One thing to note: This house might not be suitable for very young children as it is spread over 4 floors and the stairs between floors have no handrails - you soon get used to the open stairs though.

The house is well located in Gaucin, a large village with numerous bars offering a good choice of outdoor eating. There are some lovely walks from the village and the surrounding area is mountainous and spectacular. We would love to return in late spring when the flowers will be at their best; this is a good area to be based if you are a keen bird watcher.

Jenny was very easy to communicate with and answered all our questions promptly. Brett met us when we arrived and was really helpful, as well as a font of local knowledge.

We couldn't recommend this property more highly. It was a privilege to stay here and we look forward to returning. Pam Bury

Beautiful property in a delightful village

  • 5 of 5

This is a beautiful property and exactly as described. Jennie was very helpful in sending directions on driving to Gaucin and parking once we arrived. Her agent, Brett, met us immediately, gave us an orientation to the small village and even gave us his cell phone number. With a gourmet take-out place, Bonissim, just a few steps away from our front door, we were able to dine each evening on the top floor balcony watching the moon rise over the village with Gibraltar in the distance. Five stars for sure! David and Carol Farmer

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for your feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. We also love the fact that there are a good range of eating options within a few minutes walk of the house, and as you found, a deli like Bonnism 150m away is great if you want to eat nice food at home, but not cook. A good variety of Spanish and more general European cuisine is available in restaurants and bars in the village, so you really don't have to cook if you want a break from that. Brett and Esther are indeed so reliable and helpful, always doing their utmost to help our guests have a good break and we are so grateful for their assistance. Best wishes and we hope to see you again, Jennie and Mark

Cosy little home from home .

  • 5 of 5

Recently stayed in Casa Mihrab a delightful house set in a small quaint Spanish village. The house exceeded our expectations ,everything you needed was on hand making it a home from home. The house was immaculate, spacious and delightful. The spectacular views from the terrace can only be described as breathtaking .

The village of Gaucin although small is full of character and friendly and offers a good choice of places to eat out. It also provides a good base if you need to travel to other areas of interest.

We should like to thank Brett & Esther for their warm and informative welcome.Lastly a big thank you to Jennie & Mark for all your help and information .We would not hesitate to stay again in Casa Mihrab again.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for taking the time to give our home and Gaucin such a great review. The amazing expansive views were the first thing that made us fall in love with Gaucin. Our majestic mountains, Crestellina and El Hacho coupled with the ability to see Gibraltar and the Riff mountains in Morocco down the Genal valley presents a beautiful unspoilt vista which alters through the seasons and never fails to impress, drawing you back to the timeless beauty of nature. We hope you come back to enjoy it again soon. Best regards Jennie and Mark

We loved the village of Gaucin and this house!

  • 5 of 5

The previous reviews are accurate....the house is spacious, nicely furnished, a perfect place to relax and read after touring or hiking. I can't say enough for the views from the terrace....breathtaking. As we sat out the first night, gazing at the stars, we could hear goats or sheep in the hills around us. Linens are excellent quality and the house was spotless. Fun little resturants and bars around the town. This is a get away from it all kind of place. We loved it.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for a great review. Gaucin and the house are a haven for us to relax and restore too. The big open views are truly inspirational and the fact you just have to potter out to bars and restaurants without driving adds to our enjoyment. We hope you will return. Best regards Jennie and Mark.

Beautiful property with epic views

  • 4 of 5

I was so happy to have such a nice house to myself for the week. The kitchen is fully fitted and modern and the bathrooms are up to date. It's truly a great deal for one or two people wanting to get away from the tourist hoardes of the coast. It's central and parking is just up the street. The neighbours all said hello and were friendly. The views from the roof terrace are worth the price of admission alone!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your review. It was the village that we both fell in love with first; the relaxed way of life, friendly people and of course the stunning location. We couldn't believe the astonishing views from the house and its location which were the main reasons we bought it. It never fails to revive and restore us when we stay and we hope it does the same for our guests.
