Within 25 acres of an 18th century royal hunting residence, Le Pont D'Albart or Alabaster Bridge, boasts 4 cottages which have recently been renovated to a very high standard. There are 1, 2 and 3 bedroomed cottages which offer spacious living rooms with stunning lakeside views and well equipped kitchen/diners leading to private fenced gardens and patios. Near the market towns of St. Sauveur le Vicomte (8kms) and Bricquebec (9kms). Le Pont D'Albart is in a rural location yet central to all facilities and many places of interest. The nearest bakery is 1.5 kms and unspoilt sandy beaches of Carteret are a 20 min drive. Convenient for Cherbourg 30 mins. Bordering the regional forest with its dedicated walking and cycle tracks and within the national park. On site facilities include a shared outdoor heated swimming pool, private fishing lake (carp, pike, tench, roach) 1 km of private stream, free internet in cottages ,games room and children's play area.Adventure sports available locally.

About the Owner
Acceptance of booking is subject to the receipt of the appropriate deposit or full payment (if within 8 weeks of holiday) with the booking form duly signed. The booking form can be requested by mail or downloaded from our website (link below).
There is a 25% per cottage reservation deposit (if more than 8 weeks to holiday). There is a £100 per cottage breakages deposit required at arrival which must be in cash -a receipt will be issued. Cancellation of holiday must be received in writing.
Les Bergonnerettes; Saturday (arrival not before 4.00pm and departure before 10 am). Les Chardonnerets and Les Hirondelles; Friday (arrival and departure as above). Farmhouse D'Albart ; Sunday (arrival as above).

Peaceful, beautiful, friendly...
We had a wonderful week in the farmhouse with our two teenagers. The farmhouse itself was lovely - very spacious, beautifully clean and well furnished with everything we could possibly need, and the bedrooms were also large with plenty of storage space. The windows open out onto an uninterrupted countryside view, with the fishing lake on one side and fields and woodland on the other. The fishing lake has a rowing boat, and a small island, for use by guests. There is also a heated swimming pool and a games room, all in excellent condition and kept very clean. It was a very hot and sunny week (thank you for arranging that as well, Sid and Zeena!) so we kept our windows wide open at night - it was absolutely silent, and we woke to sunlight and the sound of birds. There are lovely small towns nearby to visit and the beaches (Carteret) were miles and miles of golden sand with hardly anyone there (in peak season). We were warmly welcomed, and well looked after by Sid and Zeena all week, and cannot thank them enough for such a wonderful and relaxing week! We will definitely be back again.
We stayed here in june this year. In the whole 9 days we didn't have a single problem. Sid and Zeena were easily accessible and would go well out of their way to help us. The house and grounds were amazing and everything was kept to the highest standard i have seen. Everything was regularly cleaned and kept maintained. Theres also plenty of activities to do there if you don't fancy driving anywhere else. All in all i would highly recomend staying at le pony d'albart and am already booking my stay for next year!
What can I Say??
Superb. Fantastic. Amazing. What a wonderful place to stay. The setting of these holiday cottages is simply the best, so quiet and peaceful. There is so much to do in the area, nothing was more than an hours drive away, with many things much closer. A must is Omaha beach and cemetery, a very poignant place to visit!! The cottages were of a very high standard and very well equipped, and if there was anything we didn't have Sid or Zeena soon found it! To sum up, this is a fantastic place to say.

Adventure sports; We can advise and help organise a variety of activities including surfing, windsurfing, sailing, climbing, kite surfing, speed yachting, fun boarding, catamarans, sailing, diving, canoeing, gliding and paragliding, mountain biking, assault courses, parachuting and hiking.
The lovely long quiet dune backed beaches of Hatainville and Carteret with its Marina are a 15 minute drive away.
Further north is the pretty bay of Le Rozel ideal for watersports (30 min drive) whereas the gentle shelving sands beaches south of Carteret are perfect for younger children (20-25 minutes drive).
Le Pont D'Albart is a 40 minute drive south from the channel port of Cherbourg The Port of Caen is a one and a half hour drive which has a large number of sailings with Brittany Ferries.
Alternative ferry routes include Portsmouth to Le Havre (LD lines) and Newhaven to Dieppe (Transmanche ferries).
Paris is under 4 hours by train and around 4.5 hours by car. The Channel Tunnel and Calais around 5 hours away.
Car transport is essential.
St. Sauveur le Vicomte is 8kms away whereas Bricquebec is around 9 kms. Both are market towns with chateaux.
The coastal resorts of Barneville-Carteret (15 kms) and Portbail (18 kms) are within easy reach as is the larger market towns of Valognes (20kms) and La Haye du Puits(22kms).
There are supermarkets, shops, banks and restaurants at both St. Sauveur le Vicomte and Bricquebec. The local bakery is at St. Jacques de Nehou and is a pleasant cycle ride (1.5kms). Both pretty marina resorts of Carteret and St Vaast la Hougue have Michelin graded restaurants. There are tennis courts at Portbail and indoor swimming pools at St. Sauveur le Vicomte. There are three indoor swimming pools at Cherbourg one of which is an Aquatic Centre with water slides , outdoor river spa ( sauna, steam room, jaccuzzi ) - perfect in low season.

- Notes on accommodation: All cottages benefit from lakeside views, double glazing and oil central heating. High chairs, cots available. Stair gates fitted. Full oil central heating throughout. NB. There is a no pets and no smoking policy in all accomodation making it suitable for allergy sufferers. All linen (excluding towels), services and heating (either central heating or pool) are included in the price depending on season. Outside: Each cottage has a private fenced garden with patio, BBQ and furniture. The shared outdoor heated pool is set in safe courtyard with gate and is heated from May half term to mid September. The pool may be heated early May with a supplement . The dimensions are 8 x 4 x 1.6m .There is a warm poolside solar shower . The 2 acre lake is partially fenced near the cottages and is stocked with course fish( pike,tench , perch,roach) and we have a catch and release policy . Children and non anglers should be supervised and respect the fishing rules. There are over 20 acres of private meadowland with 1km of private trout river. There is a childrens play area with swings, slide, trampoline and 5 a side football pitch. The interior games room is located within a vaulted converted wine cellar and is equipped with table tennis , pool table and table soccer .
