The apartment is just off the coast road on the south-eastern edge of Collioure. The airy living room, with its sea view, gives onto the balcony, which is in the sun from late morning to late afternoon in the summer. Collioure has been labelled the jewel of the Côte Vermeille - atmospheric, unspoilt and nestling by the sea with mountains providing the backdrop. The picturesque old town provides plenty of historical interest and culinary delights as well as a wide range of artists' studios, craft shops and other boutiques. The two bustling market days every week appeal to many. It is an ideal centre for walkers, cyclists and drivers to explore the rocky coastline that stretches to the south, or the Albères mountains and Pyrenees inland. Collioure has four beaches of its own and a number of other nearby creeks have small beaches. The coast offers excellent opportunities for divers and snorkellers. Only four miles to the north lie the expansive golden beaches of Argelès. The reserved parking is conveniently located on the quiet service road behind the apartment and a basement garage offers space for storage of larger items during your stay.
About the Owner
We both hail from Yorkshire but have lived in South-West Scotland, west of Dumfries, for the past 10 years. Now enjoying a bit more free time having retired earlier this year.

Activity and Interests
5 to 10 minutes walk from the nearest beach (in a small creek). 10 minutes walk from Avall beach. 20 minutes walk from other beaches near Collioure centre. 10 minutes drive from Argelès beach resort to the north of Collioure. Port Vendres, with its marina and harbour, is only 5 minutes drive away to the east. The coast road beyond Port Vendres offers further bays and beaches as well as dramatic cliff scenery on the drive towards the Spanish border (about 30 minutes away).

Various monasteries, castle, churches, vineyard outlets, picturesque villages, museums within an hour's drive.

Use of car is recommended for travel to and from airports. Easy access to places in Collioure on foot.
30 minutes drive from Perpignan. Many small villages and tourist attractions of interest along coast and inland easy to reach - wine cellars, castles, abbeys, monasteries, churches, museums. Port Vendres only 20 minutes on foot / 5 minutes by car. Eastern Pyrenees within easy reach by car. 2 hours drive from Carcassonne and 75 mins from Narbonne. 30 minutes drive from Spanish border along the coast road or 40 minutes via inland route. About a 2 and a half hour drive from Barcelona.
10 minutes walk from nearest Collioure shops and restaurants (Avall beach area). Banks, post office and other shopping and restaurants in the Moré quarter (old town) are 20 minutes walk from the apartment. Ideal centre for walking and cycling on coast and nearby mountains. Rocky coastline and marine conservation area offers interest to snorkellers and divers.
Shopping for essentials in Collioure: Baker’s and small grocer’s – just opposite Tour d’Avall (Avall Tower) as you drive/walk down to Collioure, opposite first beach you come to. Newsagents –a little further on the left (Rue du Port / Rue de la Liberté). Post Office – Place du 8 mai – town centre area. Market in Collioure centre Wednesday and Sunday.
Fishmongers – retail outlet in the fishing port at Port-Vendres – excellent.
Supermarkets: Collioure - Small – CARREFOUR – Rue de la République
Port Vendres - Medium – SUPER-U – Go down to Port Vendres and past the marina to the mini-roundabout just after the sharp left turn. At mini roundabout follow signs to Banyuls. Go up hill towards next turning. SUPER-U is signposted and has the nearest economical filling station.
Large – LIDL – coast road to Port Vendres (1 km from the apartment)
Go down Route Impériale away from Collioure / towards Port Vendres. Follow coast road to first round-about and you will see it on your left.
Large - DIA - down to Port Vendres and follow the road round to the left all the way round past the commercial port. Dia is on a side road to the right just after a mini-roundabout.

Reservation by email or by phone. Refundable breakage bond of €150 payable within 1 week of reservation. (Also serves as booking guarantee). Rental total plus any applicable laundry supplement to be paid no later than 8 weeks prior to stay. Breakage bond payment can be arranged in sterling for UK residents based on exchange rate at time of booking.
Normal arrival day Saturday after 14.00. Departure Saturday morning by 10.00. Some flexibility possible between October and March. Arrangements for entry will be finalised following payment of rental balance 8 weeks before holiday.
Notes on prices:
Prices are for the property per week in Euros. Booking guarantee / breakage bond of €150.00 to be paid on booking (forfeit in event of cancellation); rental and any applicable supplement due 8 weeks before stay. €150.00 bond refunded following holiday if all is OK. Normal let is from 1400 on Saturday of arrival to 1000 on Saturday of departure. Flexibility possible between October and March. Discounts available for long winter lets.
Booking deposit / bond of €150 due when booking. Rental fee due 8 weeks before holiday. The bond minus cost of any damage or extra costs is returned within 2 weeks of end of booking period. (Rental+bond are payable on booking if less than 8 wks before holiday.)
