Apartment in Vilamoura,Central Algarve - Peaceful Location Close To All Amenities

Private English-owned apartment, clean open plan living situated very close to Vilamoura and Quartiera, makes it ideal for both family holidays and those of you taking a golfing break. The apartment is situated on the 1st floor with a private terrace area, ideal for BBQ's. It boasts all the modern requirements, Sky TV in all rooms, wifi is also available in the apartment . It boasts 2 bathrooms, one larger en-suite and another small bathroom off the other room . It has full Air conditioning in the lounge area and both bedrooms. It is situated cLose to all amenities, local supermarket, restaurants, excellent beaches. Puro beach is very popular which can be found behind the trivoli hotel at the harbour. There is a fabulous walkway that has been opened that links vilamoura to quartera by promenade, it is a great walk if you are up to it, very flat and leisurely to do. Or you can visit the on-site bar and restaurant run by very friendly people, always keen to be of service.Take a stroll to Vilamoura or jump in a taxi for around 5 euros. Golferias offers a superb family pool area, safe and clean and one of the best kept pools in the area. You can make the most of the terrace area and BBQ for the family or simply stroll to local bars and restaurants and explore the fabulous Portuguese cooking. The back street places are a great way to taste different types of dishes , not expensive at all. Chicken piri piri is a local speciality, call in at la cabana for an evening of great food and excellent service. Check out the yellow file in the apartment to see where previous guests have been to and written their findings in this file . On the whole a great place to take a break, clean, friendly and very suitable for all ages .

We are as flexible as we can possible be with week to week bookings. Check in times for the apartment are 3.00pm onwards and checkout times are 10.00am . We can sometimes offer a late check out but there is a charge of £40.00 for this service . Only when we have available times can we offer this to our guest .

Julian and I are in our 40's now, we have spent a lifetime carefully renovating property both in the UK and abroad. We believe that you work hard all year and when you travel, it should be made as relaxing as possible. We bought 2 properties in our most favourite places in the world, Portugal and the Lake District National Park.

They have both been lovingly cared for over the years and all our guests have been more than happy with their choice of holiday, we hope you will be too. Location is important to everyone, we feel we have managed to capture the beauty of the local area and yet you are not tucked away without all the creature comforts of local shops, restaurants, bars, beaches & local attractions. Great place, superb location, short flight, good flight options, 20 minute transfer from the airport, friendly people, close to everything, just a lovely place to take a break. Recently undergone a facelift May 2013 making it feel very modern and light.

Very popular beach is situated behind the Trivoli hotel in Vilamoura, superb facilities. Puro beach offers a great setting for everyone .

What makes this apartment unique

We chose this destination to buy because of its Portuguese charm, it is a great place to explore and is so close to all facilities, you can walk to the beach or stay round the pool. There are lots of very traditional places to eat within walking distance of the apartment or you can stroll to the harbour and take in the restaurants there. There is a supermarket practically 5 minutes walk away from the apartment, this makes life very easy if you have children and your on a budget. The pool area is second to none and the owners take pride with the surrounding gardens. The bar is brilliant, very friendly people, superb facilities for adults and children. We have internet in the apartment, but it is also available in the on site bar area and pool, just ask at the bar.

The apartment was very clean and tidy, well furnished with all of the day to day things you need. The balcony was a real bonus - a sun trap. The location was great and the use of the pool meant you could relax. It was also a pleasure dealing with the owners from initial enquiry to return of the deposit.

Notes on accommodation: The apartment has air-conditioning, which also works as a heating system through the winter months if required. Cots and high chairs are available from outside sources, please ask for details. The apartment also has safe for valuables during your stay. Outside:The pool area is one of the biggest and most beautiful pools available in the surrounding area. Surrounded by stunning flower beds, neat lawns and safe gates for security, it makes it a very relaxing way to spend your days. Pool passes are provided at a cost of 5 euros per person over 12 years, this is paid direct to the Honorio staff on collection of access cards. This charge is solely for your insurance during your stay. Snacks are available from the on-site bar at very reasonable prices, along with a restaurant to dine in. Towels and linen are included. The property is cleaned weekly, mid week linen changes are optional for a small charge. A great south facing terrace complete with BBQ area. 1st floor ensures you are not overlooked. The pool is situated in the Honorio Apt, 1 minutes walk away from Golferias, open from mid April through to October. Public transport is also close by.

Fantastic Apartment!

Great communication with Lesley from our first enquiry and throughout. On arrival we found the property to be bright and airy with everything we needed, very clean and well maintained. The balcony area was a plus as it was large enough to feel comfortable whilst sitting outside. The pool area was a 2 minute walk in the opposite complex, very large clean pool and well cared for. There are great local restaurants within walking distance and supermarket locally that caters for most needs.

I would not hesitate to recommend this gem of an apartment and would definately stay here again on my return to Portugal.

Lovely Secure Apartment, it had everything that we needed and wanted, highly recommended

We stayed for 10 nights with our 2 kids (10 and 8) From stepping into the apartment we felt at home, as it is compact yet spacious and decorated in a lovely traditional Portuguese/ Modern way. It is equipped with everything you might need and more, and the outdoor terrace is really fantastic and private and we BBQd a few times. The security is top notch and the steel shutters made brilliant black out blinds. It was very quiet apart from the occasional dog barking and it is definitely one of the best kept apartments on the complex.

The Air Con and Sky TV kept everyone happy. The Honorio swimming pool and bar were fantastic, a really large pool and lots of sunbeds, and shady areas. The price of the drinks, ice cream and bar snacks were really reasonable. We could not fault it at all. We enjoyed all the food that we sampled and the supermarket is a short walk away and is really well stocked. Our favourite meal out was at La cabane, which was recommended to us by Antonio, (The airport transfer service which was recommended by Lesley, this too was excellent) La Cabane is a 5 minute walk with reasonably priced Al la Carte Portuguese Food.

If you like waterparks, Aquashow was a brilliant day out, its just a couple of miles away, spotlessly clean, I loved it, and I don't even like water!! We took a taxi for about 6 Euros each way.Its quite expensive to eat in the café, but you can take a picnic. We really enjoyed Loule / Quarteira Beach, again very clean which is about 20 minutes walk and Villamora Harbour, which wasn't as expensive as I expected. We didn't hire a car and didn't feel like we needed one. Overall a brilliant first experience of Portugal, close to the airport and everything that you would need. Lesley was really helpful throughout the whole experience which was seamless from end to end

Great Apartment & Great Location

Upon arrival you will realise why this Apartment gets such great Reviews. Immaculately clean & obviously very well looked after. We are a family of 4 which stayed here for a week in April. With a Son aged 20 & Daughter of 16 I guess most people will understand that having good wireless & Sky Sports on the TV was all they really needed!! As for the location, for us it was ideal. A fairly quiet part of Town but within easy reach of Quarteira Beach Front & a nice 20 minute walk to the fantastic Marina at Vilamoura. The Swimming Pool & Bar Area at the adjacent apartments were ideal as well, very clean & very helpful & friendly staff. We had no problems at all during our stay & the apartment was everything stated on this page & more. The owner, Lesley was very helpful with any queries from the day we booked.

We had a great time with fantastic weather & would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to our family & friends. I hope we can come back soon.

Perfect

We are currently staying at this apartment, myself, husband and 2 teenage boys.

We have been here a week of 2 wks holiday and are having a great time.

The apartment is lovely. All the equipment you need for a great holiday are here. Hairdryer, iron and board, washing machine, all crockery and cutlery, the list goes on. My husband and boys are over the moon that there is even sky sports as there football mad!!

Lovely pool area across the road at the honorio apartments which is exclusive with an entry card. Not loads of sunbeds but we are happy laying on the grass.

The supermarket and a few restaurants are a few minutes walk. Quartaria is a further 10 minutes where there are lots of shops and restaurants. Vilamoura is about 25 minutes from the apartment with its beautiful marina and lots more restaurants and shops. We walked there and back, but taxis are always available.

Excellent communication with Lesley and Julian the owners and lovely lady Chris who does the cleaning and management of the apartment is on hand if any problems.

All in all I cannot recommend enough and will definitely be back.

Special interest holidays:

Zoomarine is less than 15 minutes away by car, you could drive, take a cab or catch the local bus service. Aqua Show is 5 minutes away by car, this is great for the whole family, special tickets are available for a one off pass to use for the duration of your stay. Go Carting is another fun way to pass the holiday. Carts for all ages from 3 to 73 (10 mins drive). Horse riding is great if you know how. Why not learn where nobody knows you (10 minutes from the apartment). Fishing trips available, golf courses to pass the time and practice your swing.

Eating out is great, Vilamoura has a great selection to offer, however the back streets near the apartment have some surprises too. Just take a wonder and see for yourself, you will find the best Chicken Piri Piri House a 5 minute walk away from the apartment. Situated across from Jaffers supermarket you won't find better, try it if you get chance. A Cabana restaurant is also a favorite of the locals, superb food within walking distance.

Coast/Beach:

The nearest beach is 1500 meters away (10 minutes). A unique model train transports holiday makers to and from the nearest beach every hour. You have a choice of several beaches, some further away than others, but all easily accessible. Previous guests have left maps etc in the red information file in the apartment, do check them out. Local bike hire is available from certain parts of the surrounding area, just ask at the local Piri Piri, he will point you in the right direction.

Puro beach - situated behind the Tivoli hotel is a fabulous was to relax and enjoy the sunshine. Resident DJ is there Thursdays through to Sundays from 4.00pm onwards. They offer a selection of light bites there too.

Aqua Park is situated about 5 mins from Golferias complex, just a short taxi ride - This is one, if not the largest water park in the Algarve- it makes for a great day out with the family, fun, rides, slides, picnic areas and many more fabulous things to to there.

Travel:

20 minutes from Faro Airport. Taxi costs between 25-30 euros door to door. Car hire is available if required, just ask for details when booking. The apartment is superbly situated should you chose to use public transport. Buses (coaches) run to all areas of the Algarve such as Lagos, Loule, Albefuera, Vale Do Lobo and many more, this makes sight seeing very easy if you do not wish to hire a car. The cost of return tickets are more than reasonable and the time table is easy to follow.

Distances:

Outside the complex the main area for shopping and bars is only a five minute walk away. For those who enjoy self catering the local supermarket is stocked with all the essentials at very reasonable prices. If you who like an evening walk why not stroll into Vilamoura harbour. In just 15 minutes you will be amongst the most magnificent shops and bars. Taxi rides are easy and accessible for those who don’t like to walk anywhere. The average cost of a taxi into Vilamoura is €5.00.

Further Details:

Above all, the Algarve is a children's haven; they can choose whatever daily excursion takes their fancy. They could visit the Aqua Show, a fun family park, Zoomarine where they get to swim with the dolphins, several exciting water parks, horse riding, Algarve Zoo or take a cruise around the Algarve. There’s plenty of grilled chicken and chips or if they want they can try the local restaurants and enjoy the Algarve’s classic speciality dishes. If not, then Portugal is guaranteed to have something to offer even the most discerning palate. Why not end your perfect day with a pleasant stroll to Vilamoura harbour to watch the sunset as you soak up the sights and sounds of this truly cosmopolitan area amongst some magnificent shops and bars.

There is a fabulous walk along the waterfront, stretching from Vilamoura right through to Quartiera. This has been a huge project undertaken by the Portuguese and has provided the locals and holiday makers to enjoy a pathway , day or night to walk or cycle. Call in at the local eateries and bars along the way.

The traditional chorizo festival ‘Festa das Chouriças’ Querença. It is in honour of São Luís, the local patron saint of animals, and combines traditional gastronomy with religious customs.

The event is “reminiscent of a time when families living in the Algarve countryside would breed pigs to provide sustenance through the year”. Locals would ask São Luís to watch over the animals to guarantee food for the family. As a token of appreciation, people would then offer the saint their best homemade chorizo. Thus this fair keeps the custom alive.

Google the festivities in Central Algarve prior to your trip - chose which event suits you and go along and truly appreciate the Portuguese way of life/
