Villa in Holders Hill, St James, Barbados - Peaceful, Safe Location on the Edge of the Famous Sandy Lane Golf Course and the Polo Fields.

This elegant Georgian style villa is located on the west coast side of Barbados. The property benefits from views of the Caribbean Sea from the upper floor, has a good size swimming pool, gardens and covered patio. Accommodation is arranged over 2 floors. The ground floor comprises of a large open plan area with fully fitted kitchen and breakfast bar, dining area and a large sitting room. Two large French doors open onto the patio and secluded gardens.

There is a laundry room with washing, drying, ironing facilities and a downstairs WC.

The first floor comprises of one large en-suite bedroom with one queen size bed and one single bed.

A second double bedroom with a queen size bed and a third twin bedroom with a large baby cit. Family bathroom.

All bedrooms are air conditioned and have ceiling fans as well.

A few minutes drive or bus ride from the beautiful beaches of Paynes Bay or 15 minutes walk. The pretty village of Holetown with its shops, bars, restaurants, banks and supermarket is only minutes drive.

The property also benefits from 2 allocated parking spaces. Remote controlled gates.

Patio furniture and BBQ . Sun loungers, parasol ,pool shower.

Other facilities: WIFI Internet, SMART TV ( use your own Netflix account or HMDI cable)

Hello, my name is Kim, my family and I own Fairway Villa in Holders Hill. My family reside near Venice in Italy but I live in UK, therefore I look after the enquiries and the bookings for the Villa. Most of our guests are from the UK but we had families from Italy, France, Germany, Canada and the USA. I speak English, Italian and Spanish, so you can contact me in any of the above languages if you need information. Why Kim chose Holders Hill

We have always loved Barbados and kept returning to the Island every year. One day, I suggested having a look around the area for a Villa of our own. We were extremely fortunate when we came across Fairway Villa and immediately fell in-love with it for the great location in the Parish of St James, near the great beaches of the West Coast and all the closeness to the pretty village of Holetown the space it offered and the light and airy rooms .The Villa exceeded our expectations. We like the area very much, as it is upmarket, near the prestigious Sandy Lane Golf Course and also, being on a hill it benefits from lovely breeze throughout the year.

What makes this villa unique

Being safe was one of our prerogative. Quietness. No traffic noise. Surrounded by luscious vegetation. Near all amenities. West Coast location, we prefer that side of the island as we find it less commercialised and more " Caribbean". Not so much traffic on the roads comparing to the South. Greater freedom than being stuck in apartments,the rooms are very spacious they all have air conditioning units but also ceiling fans. Having a garden and being able to eat " al Fresco" and being able to have a BBQ is a great advantage. The laundry room is very convenient to. We now have a Smart Tv and you can use your own Netflix account or bring your HMDI cable to watch your own downloads, Bbc news are available too. WI-Fi Internet is provided.

More space for children to play in the garden or by the pool than apartments. The villa is located within a walled and gated Estate. The pool, being a good size, is great to enjoy for adults and children. Parking provided inside the Estate for two cars.

Special interest holidays:

The Villa is located very conveniently to visit some of the major attractions in Barbados. Harrisons Caves, a must for adult and children is only 25 mins. drive. Folkestone marine park is 8 min. drive. The wildlife park, 20 mins drive. Speighstown is a pretty and very Caribbean fishing village it's approx. 20 mins drive along the beautiful west coast road. At three minutes walk from the house there is the Barbados Polo club and the open air Theater were concerts are often played.

The capital, Bridgetown, offer some really important Historical buildings, such as the House of Parliament and you can view them with the Historical Bridgetown walk tour.

For the Children, the Submarine with Atlantis is a must.

There are several Botanical gardens in Barbados, some of the nicest are Andromeda Gardens, the botanical gardens and the orchid gardens.

For the sporty ones, Barbados offer a bit of everything, Golf, Polo,Water sports, horse riding, tennis, cricket,shooting, fishing and many more.

Coast/Beach:

The nearest shops are in Holetown (5 mins drive) there are buses to the coast and shops but a car is advised. Discounted car hire can be arranged. The nearest beach is Paynes Bay ( West Coast) at 4 mins drive or 15 mins walk down Holders Hill. There are many other beautiful beaches in the vicinity including Folkstone Marine Park which is a natural beauty spot for snorkelling with live coral a vast variety of fish and a ship wreck. All the West coast beaches are beautiful white sand beaches.

Travel:

Grantley Adams airport is approx35/40 mins drive, taxi service cost approx $35 US or $70 Barbados. We recommend car hire for easy accessibility to the Villa, Buses ran regularly but they don't have a specific timetable! The Villa is located on a steep hill and in the hot weather a car is advantageous. There are also a variety of places of interest and sightseeing that would be missed if without a car. Supermarket are near, but again, easier to get to with transport.

Distances:

Holetown 5 minutes by car. 15/20 minutes walk. Paynes Bay beaches, 15 minutes walk, 3 minutes by car. Bridgetown is 10 to 15 minutes by car or bus. Kensington Oval Cricket Ground, is 10 minutes by car. 15/20 by bus. Holders Hill Polo Field is 3 minutes walk from the Villa. Sandy Lane Golf is also on our doorstep.

Banks: First Caribbean Intenational: Sunset Crest, Holetown ( does not charge for money exchange). Restaurants: Cliff: 5 minutes drive: expensive, but best in Barbados, a true experience, beautiful location. Dafne: 3 minutes drive, expensive, best for lunch. Tides, Very good. Zacchios: Holetown, family, average price, good. Good for happy hour. Thursday, Friday, Saturday evening at Paynes Bay: you must buy some BBQ meats and fish at the Paynes bay street cooks, best BBQ food in the area. Start 7pm. Big portion and good price for very fresh food.

Notes on accommodation: The villa is one of 4 Georgian style coral stone houses, fenced and gated, with gardens and a swimming pool shared with another 3 Villas. 2 parking spaces are allocated at the front of the house. Remote controlled gates are fitted for extra security. Elderly and disable persons are welcome providing they can negotiate the stairs to the upper floor. Smoking is strictly forbidden inside the Villa WIFI is now available in the property. All the bedrooms benefit from Air Conditioning and also ceiling fans. Safety deposit box provided.A large cot is provided for a child up to 5 years of age. The house is looked after by our English house Manager, who makes sure that everything is in good order throughout the Villa at all times and our guests are happy with the facilities. A contract and a Booking form will be given to renters and all information must be read and sign. One small dog allowed. Car rental can be arranged on your behalf with a reputable company. Outside: At the rear of the property there is a shaded patio with tables and chairs for al fresco dining. BBQ, the gardens and swimming pool are shared with 3 other villas only. pool chairs, table and sun loungers and parasols are provided. Washing lines in the garden. The swimming pool is approximately 10 mt. in lenght and 3.5 mt in width. Pool/Beach towels are provided.The villa is one of 4 Georgian style coral stone house, fenced and gated, therefore very safe and secure. 2 parking spaces are allocated at the front of the house. Utility Room: With laundry sink, washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board. Fire extinguisher. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: The Villa is cleaned every 6 to 7 days, all linen and towels changed then, all linen and towels are provided included beach towels. More frequent cleaning can be arranged for a small charge. Other: Dining area with dining table with carved wood mexican chairs, seats 8 guests, ceiling fan. Carved wood Mexican chest, all set in a open plan area, very light and breezy.

Undoubtedly one of Barbados's Hidden Gems !

My family of five and I were desirous of spending a week together, and were looking for a villa that was spacious, elegant, within our budget and of course with a decent sized pool !! After looking at over twenty villas, some as far away as Bottoms Bay, my wife stumbled upon this one. Let me say that the pictures on Homeaway of this property are great, yet seeing this villa in person was totally beyond our expectations.

This Villa is located on Holders Hill, approximately 20 minutes drive from the airport. It's in close proximity to the beach, has shopping malls e.g. Holetown nearby, and other amenities like gas station, supermarket,

restaurants, parks etc within walking distance. There are three other villas within the gated property, and a beautifully large sized swimming pool.

The house is an impressive, well built two-story home, with the ultra-modern kitchen, half-bathroom, dining and living room downstairs, and the three air-conditioned bedrooms and two main bathrooms upstairs. The house is tastefully furnished, with high-speed internet, flat screen television, washer and dryer etc. The lawn and the area surrounding the pool is gorgeous, and access to and from the property is via a fully automated, remote controlled gate.

Our hosts Janelle and her husband Raymond were very friendly, called each of us by our first names, and were literally a phone call away to assist with anything we needed. They checked in with us every day to make sure we were happy and comfortable whilst giving us tips and history stories about the island and its many attractions.

Must I say that whilst Barbados has blue water beaches and awe-inspiring sights, the most memorial part of our trip was returning to the villa after a day out and having a close family hangout in the warm swimming pool. As a matter of fact, there was a day or two where we did not leave the villa and spent the entire day cooking, eating, watching TV and simply lounging by the pool, priceless!

The morning of our departure was a bittersweet one, for each of us had completely fallen in love with this home. Needless to say, we all decided that on our next trip this is our unanimous choice of stay. My wife and I have complete respect and utter admiration for the owner Kim, for had it not been for the professional yet friendly and accommodating way she interacted throughout the booking process, we may have not had the pleasure of staying at this absolute gem of a villa!

Clean, Close to Beach, Great Layout

Seven of us booked a stay at this wonderful home for a destination wedding and we were not disappointed. Everything was immaculate and we even had a welcome basket.

The pool was warm and the rooms had available AC for those that needed it (extra charge for having excessive electricity usage) but we enjoyed the breeze and ambient temperature with a fan.

A 40 minute walk or a 5 min cab ride will get you to the Sandy Lane Beach and we frequented that place.

True to the ad, there is a gas station, a few restaurants and a grocery store within short driving distance, 3 to 5 minutes. Would recommend renting a car if staying here since things are not that close when walking up and down hills.

That said, communication with the owner, Kim, was wonderful throughout the booking process and then Janelle was amazing once we were in country. She even arranged for a car to grab 4 of us from the airport when we arrived at a great price.

Would recommend and would love to stay there again on another trip.

Home from Home

We starei for Christmas and New Year (old years night locally) and had a great time. We stayed on the island many times over the last year and this accommodation was right up there in terms of location and convenience.

The Villa is really comfortable and well furnished with everything we needed for our stay. Holders Hill is a great area to be located in. Close to Holetown food stores, other shops and the beach. All a short drive away.

You are in a residential area so it was lovely and quiet and behind gates so it felt safe.

The shared pool was a real bonus. There's only four houses that shared the pool and for the three weeks we were there, we had it for ourselves. We didn't use it much though as there are great beaches less than five minutes away.

Barbados is renown for being friendly and welcoming. Kim and MAuden certainly lived up to it. Essential groceries in the fridge and a welcome smile. What more could you want!

I would not hesitate to stay again.
