Holiday Apartments in Rye, East Sussex - Mahogany Decked Sun Balcony

If you are after peace and quiet then we just might have something for you. The apartments sit on a private quayside with a southerly outlook. Beyond the opposite bank of the river lies Romney Marsh with Rye Harbour in the distance. The river is tidal so at breakfast you may catch a sailing boat gliding by and over lunch you could be watching a clutch of dunlins nosing for food in the mud of the river bank. The pleasures of Rye's cobbled streets are barely 5 mins walk. Further afield you are within easy reach of Winchelsea, Battle, Bodiam, Canterbury, the Channel Tunnel and the Kent countryside. The 'invitation only' golf links at nearby Camber are well known and the adjacent Sands are glorious at any time of the year. Golf courses can also be found at nearby St Leonard's and Seddlescombe. Other activities include sailing, windsurfing, fishing and an abundance of walks. The nature reserve at Rye Harbour boasts several hides. Cycling is an excellent way of exploring Romney Marsh.

About Chris

I started letting self-catering property in Rye back in 1988 – I therefore have over 28 years continuous experience of holiday letting.

My aim is to make the holiday experience so great that you want to return time and time again.

I think I’ve had some success with this.

As of 2015 I have taken over 2,900 bookings of which 35% are repeats.

66 couples have been 5 or more times (yes, 66 ! – think how many that is and how broad and diverse those lovely people are who have made the decisions to return so many times).

One couple has been 22 times,

I am now a semi-retired grandfather. Having lived and worked in such places as Brighton, Worthing, Bournemouth, Bristol and Oslo I am currently living in Folkestone and enjoying painting and sculpting.

Why Chris chose Rye

Great holiday location - memories of childhood holidays with my grandmother - roaming Rye's cobbled streets, country lanes and beaches.

What makes this apartment unique

The charm and peacefulness of the setting is very calming. Dark starry nights. Easy access to Rye's charms, pubs and eateries.

Fantastic week even with the storm on Sunday & Monday!! No damage done.

Lovely location and apartment and the bubbly was a lovely surprise – thank-you.

The apartment was recommended by friends (Chris & Steve – June 2012), they were not wrong it has been a brilliant ½ term break. The meal at Hope & Anchor was amazing and very good value – a must do!! Good fun at the auction on Friday and lovely views from the church tower. Herons, curlews on the estuary while we sat in the sun on the deck. Can’t fault it.

Eighth time here!

Snow lying and bitter winds made us limit our intended walks & birding. Very glad to get back to the warm flat. Had to be content with the local redshanks. Even the ostriches stayed in their shed.

Later in week, good trip to Canterbury; quick & easy via Ashford on train. Still a thoroughly enjoyable week.

Our sixth visit – can’t you tell we love it! Although the weather has been pretty cold at times the flat has been cosy and restful – as always. We have had a lovely time just ‘chilling’. We had our Sunday lunch at the Haven and it was lovely. In six visits we had never been there before! Thanks for the bubbly and the wifi.

Stayed for Easter weekend – first time on Rye. Beautiful peaceful town. Apartment was perfect – clean, tidy and totally chilled! Ate in Simply Italian – wonderful fresh food!!

The Ship Inn for Easter Sunday lunch also comes highly recommended! Overall a fab stay! Thanks Chris – we hope to return in the summer!

Beautiful location, our fourth visit to Rye but first at the Boathouse and it is perfect.

Rye as wonderful as ever, recommend ‘Simply Italian’ for a lovely meal. Will definitely stay here again.

We really liked Rye and how it has retained its unique identity. Recommend George for beer, Ambrette & Webbe’s for food. Ypres, Ship & Mermaid all worth a visit. If you eat outside at the Mermaid, watch out for the predatory gulls, they will take the food off the plate!

Last minute decision to escape the hustle & bustle of everyday life – Kerry remembered a lovely w/e she spent at the Boathouse in April so contacted Chris to see if he could help and here we are!

Following a saunter around town we are sitting on the balcony, glass of the bubbly (so thoughtfully discovered in the fridge) in hand watching the ever changing sky as a storm passes over. Refreshed we return to work on

The purpose built apartments, located on a private quayside, provide superb views of passing yachts and the marsh beyond. The secluded location and the almost hypnotic effect of the tidal river as it ebbs and flows will swiftly put you into a relaxed frame of mind. Adjacent short term moorings can be organised (subject to availability). Allocated parking for one car is available at the rear. Gas-fired central heating, and all heating, lighting and linen costs are included in the weekly rates. Comprehensive tourist information is maintained. A Quiet Getaway

The Boathouse provides a perfect base for exploring Rye and the surrounding areas. Everything you need is a stones throw from the apartment, with local butcher, greengrocer, deli and supermarket, all in easy walking distance. If you want to eat out, there is an amazing choice of places in the town to choose from, hotels, restaurants and pubs at every turn.

The Boathouse apartment has plenty of room for two, and is nestles quietly on the river on the outskirts of the historic town.

A wonderful week at the Boathouse

A clean and comfy apartment with every facility we needed. A perfect base to explore Rye and the surrounding area or relax and enjoy the views from the balcony. Plenty of good shops and pubs within walking distance and free parking.

Clean relaxing and peaceful

We were pleased with the apartment which was clean and comfortable. Loved the ground floor balcony. A real chill out. Rye town is very quaint. We walked to Simply Italian for a nice meal.

Will book again.
