Return to Praia Del Rei

A very neat and tidy home. Ideal position on the resort for the driving range, clubhouse and beach. We felt very safe and the resort was as good as we remembered. It has been 6 years since our last holiday on the Silver Coast at Praia Del Rei and it looked the same as before. If you enjoy staying in a nice home you will not be sorry if you stay here it has everything you need. The local management team are very helpful and professional from the nearby town of Serra Del Rei - Pedro or Priscilla they could not be more happy to assist with any queries. We love Obidos, Caldas da Rainha and Foz (across from the lagoon). The shopping is always good at E.Clerc Supermarket nr Caldas da Rainha and enjoy a coffee at Sarah's (onsite shop). Lovely food at Cozhina's Serra Del Rei but booking is recommended we managed to get the last table on Wednesday at 7pm so we booked a table for Saturday before we left. If you like history a visit to the National Palace at Mafra is a must and have a coffee down one of its side streets. We should have booked 2 weeks instead of one but maybe we can have a longer stay another time. So thanks again Angela for renting us your Townhouse we hope it will still be availiable there even though you have it up for sale!

Quiet Location, Spacious, Well Equipped Townhouse

This was our second stay at Vila dos Principes and our first at Angela's house. On arrival we were met by the housekeeper who handed us the keys, gave a short tour and told us how everything worked. The house is in a quiet, secluded location, but less than 30 seconds walk to the nearest pool. The grounds of the condominium are very pleasant and immaculately kept. The house itself has two huge double bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and a smaller twin bedroom again with its own bathroom. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is a traditional built in BBQ outside. The lounge has plenty of seating and opens onto the patio area and has the usual TV, DVD player and radio you would expect.

Booking the house with Angela was very easy and prior to our arrival her housekeeper was also very helpful and did everything to ensure our stay would be enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this house to anyone who has a family and is looking for a peaceful location, but within easy striking distance of the pool and the stunning beaches nearby.

This villa was perfect!

The house was great - very airy and light, but cool. And it was so well-kitted out we felt that we could have stayed for a month! Vila dos Principes was lovely and peaceful, but with plenty of other people around for our two children. The whole area is very well maintained - roads, paths, pools, gardens, etc. The three pools were busy, but didn't feel crowded.

And only a short drive from some fantastic beaches. We will definitely be back!

Coast/Beach:

The coast at Praia d'el Rey is a magnificent stretch of sandy beach which is rarely crowded. There is a life guard in the summer months, this area being a few minutes drive from the property, with plenty of free car parking. The famous Obidos lagoon is approx. 15 minute drive with beautiful sandy beaches, bars & restaurants.

Distances:

Praia d'el Rey is an easy drive from Lisbon airport of less than 1 hour on the A8 motorway. The drive from Faro is about 3 hours, and about 2 hours from Porto. Car hire is essential. Details as to car hire can be provided if required. The medieval walled town of Obidos is a 15 mins drive, Peniche approx 20 mins; Caldas da Rainha is about 20 mins drive.

Further Details:

There is a convenience store on the resort and small supermarket at nearby Serra d'el Rei, with large supermarkets, banks etc at Peniche. A new well stocked supermarket has opened at Obidos with 2 hypermarkets at Caldas da Rainha. The clubhouse has a restaurant as does the 5 Star Marriott Hotel. Bar meals and snacks also available at the clubhouse.There are numerous other restaurants close by offering excellent local cuisine at reasonable cost. Our property is managed by English speaking personnel who will be available to assist you at any time during your stay.

There are tennis courts on the complex and lessons/coaching can be arranged. Football and basketball also available The Marriott Hotel offers other indoor leisure facilities as well as a health spa and kids club (these facilites are not included in rental price). Some children's beach items are provided in the house for guests use - e.g. surf boards, beach balls, buckets and spades. There are a few board games, playing cards and books for guests use, plus tennis racquets and balls. Play Station 2 for guests to use provided. We have also added a Dunlop 16 piece golf set for guests use which includes bag and umbrella. Further information about golf available on request.
