Spacious 3 bed, 2 bathroom, farmhouse with tower room, pool, garden and extensive private land

Spacious Cortijo (farmhouse) with private fenced pool (10m x 5m) set in a peaceful countryside location with its own extensive land. The property is 15 minutes drive from the spectacular white hilltop town of Arcos de la Frontera with its numerous typical restaurants, tapas bars and historic old town. The Cortijo has three large bedrooms, two bathrooms, one en-suite, large open plan living and dining area and an upstairs tower room with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Patio doors open out to patio, pool, and garden area. At the front of the house, there is a beautiful walled courtyard with patio, table, chairs and built in barbecue for al-fresco dining. Great location for exploring the Costa de la Luz beaches, Jerez, Cadiz, Seville, other beautiful Pueblo Blancos, and nearby mountain ranges.

Relaxing in the countryside

A spacious villa set in the countryside yet only 15' drive from he white-walled town of Arcos de la Frontera, with easy access to Jerez, Cadiz and Seville from there. There is a small shop and a bar in the hamlet that is 5' drive down the track from the villa on the main road The villa is clean and spacious with a pleasant garden surrounded by fields. The pool is a good size, and an equally welcome feature is the tower room, which even on the hottest days provided respite from the Spanish sun. Highly recommended for a comfortable and relaxing stay.

Rural tranquillity, yet easily accessible

We have now been to this villa 3 times and will come again. The house is spacious and very well equipped (air con a bonus) and very easy to relax in. It is in a pretty, rural location with great views from the pool terrace and especially from the elevated tower room. We love the peace and quiet and the opportunity to see a variety of birds. The pool is a good size and suitable both for 'proper' swimming and for children to play in. Though in a rural location, the house is straightforward to reach and easily accessible from a range of airports (we use Seville). Arcos is nearby and well worth visiting and also provides all the useful things you need for a self catering holiday. A little further afield but easily reached are historic Jerez to the west, with its bodegas and the Spanish riding school, east will take you into the stunning Grazalema national park with Cadiz and the beaches of the Costa de la Luz to the south and of course Seville to the north. Now that the children are older we have been able to go horse riding near Prado del Rey (20 minutes) and kayaking on Arcos Lake (15 minutes) and there is also the aqua park near El Puerto de Santa Maria. You could easily spend all the time sightseeing as there is lots to see and do, but we also love just being in the garden and by the pool. The house represents excellent value for money and the owners are very helpful. If you are looking for an active nightlife scene or don't want to hire a car, this is not the villa for you but overall this is a great place to stay and we recommend it.

Activity and Interests

The uncrowded beaches of the Costa de la Luz are approximately a 45-minute drive away, a large lake is adjacent to the town, and two other lakes are within easy reach, water sports are available.


Jerez airport is 30 minutes drive, Ryanair flights are available from Stansted. Ryanair flights also to Seville 1.5hrs drive away. Numerous airlines (easyjet, Thompsonfly, BA, BMI baby, and Monarch) fly from various cities to Malaga which is 2.5hrs drive away. Car hire is recommended.


Jerez 30 minutes - Sherry bodega tours, Equestrian school, flamenco.

Seville 1 hour - Cathedral, Alcazar.

The Parque natural de la sierra de Grazalema is 1 hour away for excellent walking and riding.

Costa de la Luz - numerous beaches, nearest 45 minutes.

Pueblo Blancos - easy access to other white mountain villages.

Sanlucar - Beach and famous fish restaurants.

Cadiz - 45 minutes drive or short ferry ride from El Puerto Santa Maria.

Ronda - 1.5 hours with it's famous gorge.
