Apartment in La Herradura, Costa Tropical - Frontline to Beach, Corner of Horseshoe Bay

A beautiful and modern equipped property, with private rear parking area. The property can sleep up to 6 people. Newly decorated and refurbished. South facing with sunshine all day. Excellently equipped with modern facilities, UK TV only, however Internet is available for a small charge. There is also a wall safe available .The apartment offers ample storage space with fitted wardrobes, sun loungers etc. Travel cot and buggy available on request.

About the Owner

We have lived in Spain for the last 13 years and love our life! We live only 30 mins from La Herradura and love spending time there as we always feel we are on our holidays! We have deliberately allowed guests to choose their own dates as we hope that in between bookings there are a few days when we can enjoy ourselves on the coast! Have been offered many times to sell our apartment but this is something that we will enjoy for many years to come, would never let it go!

Due to the great demand on our apartment, and the fact we have not had many chances to enjoy time there, we have just bought a one bed apartment in the same complex. Hopefully we will be able to spend lots of long weekends in our favourite holiday resort!

Wonderful apartment

One bedroom 3rd floor Apartment.

Fabulous apartment with a fantastic view over the bay. One of the best holidays we have had. The apartment is very much a home from home, it is furnished to a high standard and very well equipped.

We enjoyed many a gin and tonic just sitting and relaxing on the terrace enjoying the view which is exactly as advertised on this website, it is wonderful.

La Herradura has good choice of bars and restaurants and it easy to walk to the other side of the bay along the promenade to more restaurants and the banks and shops.

The gardens around the swimming pools were beautiful and immaculate, the lawned areas were great for sunbathing.

We returned home truly relaxed and will be booking again for next year.

Paradise Found

We have stayed at Janet & John's great apartment for the last three winters, and it is even better than in their description. It is situated at the quieter end of the seafront about a 100mtrs from the beach and has a well maintained garden to the front of the complex with fruit and palm trees and swimming and paddling pools. There is a bus stop nearby with buses to Almunecar. The apartment is maintained to a very high standard and the owners who live locally respond well if there are ever any problems. At the time of our stay there was both English and Spanish TV and a DVD player should there be a hiccup with the weather. There are also board games etc. and books to read. There are folding chairs, loungers are and also beach towels. All linen and bath towels are provided saving on luggage. The property is always very clean and tidy when we arrive. Our daughter and her family have used the 2 bed apartment and also friends on our recommendation and are returning next year.

La Herradura and Almunecar towns are both in the centre of one of the best areas in Spain for Tapas and you are spoilt for choice with the many bars providing really good tapas with your drink. There are 6 bars/restaurants in the immediate vicinity, many with free Wifi. Inland there are many 'White Villages' to visit in the hills and the scenery is breath-taking. With a car it is possible to visit the Alhambra Palace near Granada and also the Sierra Nevada ski resort.

We can think of nothing that we dislike about the apartment or the area and can't wait to return.

Location

Love La Herradura, beautiful scenery, frontline to the beach with beautiful gardens and swimming pools directly in front of the apartment. We love the Costa Tropical with the tropical plants and fruits growing in abundance! The temperature is perfect, with the sea breeze cooling things down slightly during the 'hot' summer months! During the winter, the weather never drops below 10 degrees and you can go swimming during most of the winter months! Not too touristy which makes it an ideal holiday location.

Activity and Interests

Special interest holidays:

Horse riding, tennis, scuba diving, canoeing, windsurfing and a variety of sailing activities available.

Situated on the sea front and beach are a number of equipped childrens play areas/parks.

5 a side football pitch/basketball area. Also, a beach volley ball area.

Coast/Beach:

Front line to the beach of La Herradura (50 mts).

Beautiful marina at Marina del Este a short distance away.

Travel:

Malaga airport (approximately 40 mins away).

Granada airport (approximately 1 hour away).

Almeria airport (approximately 2 hours away).

Car hire recommended but not essential.

Local pickups can be arranged if required.

Distances:

Nerja - 5 mins away (Nerja caves a must!).

Almunecar 5 mins away (fantastic market every Friday).

Salobrena 10 mins away (18 hole golf course).

Motril 15 mins away.

Granada - 40 mins away with the beautiful Alhambra Palace.

Further Details:

A variety of restaurants, bars, local shops, supermarkets, banks, chemist can be found on the sea front only minutes from the apartment. WIFI is available in most bars/cafes - free internet available in the local library (PCs and english books).

The village also offers a regular bus service along with a taxi rank.

Walking distance to all shops and restaurants. Close to Nerja, Almunecar and Granada which is famous for the Alhambra Palace and of course skiing in the winter time. Also close to the lovely Alpujarra mountain range. The marina is 10 mins away which is beautiful to watch the lovely boats coming in! We love to spend as much time in La Herradura as we can.
