Casa Joya is a typical Andalucian country house in a secluded location with private swimming pool located in hills 5 mins above Torrox Pueblo which is a lovely whitewashed Spanish village with all amenities and 10mins from the coast. Spacious accommodation with 2 beds, 2 baths, (plus adjoining A/C studio if required at extra cost - only available with villa booking - ideal for grandparents or friends ) lounge/diner with Andalucian fireplace with wood burner, well equipped kitchen, English satellite TV and air-conditioning. The 8m x 4m private pool which is all one level (1.25m) has sunbathing terraces overlooking the sea, hillsides & mountains. There are alfresco dining areas and comfortable seating facilities under the arched covered terrace to enjoy the magnificent views. BBQ whilst watching the sunset using the outdoor kitchen. The house is situated 10 mins from the beaches of Torrox Costa and its lovely promenade with the lively resort of Nerja 15 mins away. On your doorstep there are scenic walks in the picturesque countryside. Access from Torrox village is a 2km uphill narrow tarmac/concrete lane suitable for any car. You get the best of both worlds - peace and quiet for relaxation but with the beach and facilities on your doorstep! Also look at Casa Antonio Ref 6964133 about 100m away (next door!) as we also rent that out so if 2 families wanted to come away together you each have your own space.

Why Joy Floody chose Torrox

We bought Casa Joya in 2004 & although the house was much more basic when we bought it with no drive, pool or terraces we fell in love with the location & spectacular views & knew that we could make it into a beautiful home so we have made many improvements. . Believe it or not it was already named (almost) after me as the man who sold it to us had a nickname of Antonio Joya!

We have travelled a lot around Spain & can't find anywhere that gives us everything we want like the Torrox area can. We have beautiful views, peace & quiet but with the lively tourist resorts only a few minutes away. We can walk the lovely hillsides or the beaches & promenades.

We love it & hope you will too!

What makes this villa unique

Casa Joya is situated away from it all but with lively tourist resorts on your doorstep giving you the best of both worlds. It offers a place to relax & unwind in a home from home enjoying the spectacular views with only the sound of the birds to listen to. You won't want to leave!

With the annex as well you can bring along grandparents, friends, too.

We also rent out the villa next door (well, 100m away!) Casa Antonio Ref 6964133 if 2 families want to holiday together.

Notes on accommodation: Air-conditioning to living room, master bedroom & studio. Wood burner in living room. Care should be taken with young children due to the location of the property on a hillside and the pool not being completely fenced off. Studio is NOT rented separately in summer only with a villa booking as extra accomodation at extra cost. Outside: 8m x 4m private swimming pool which although not heated has a polycarbonate retractable cover which allows the water temperature to increase earlier than normal in the year & decrease later. There is an outside shower & large sun terraces. Range of sunbeds, patio furniture for al fresco dining, comfortable cane sofas for evening relaxation outside under covered terrace. Brick BBQ. Garden areas also land belonging to property to explore with avocados, olives, mangoes, grapes and figs to pick when in season. The views from the house are truly outstanding. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels included with extra set supplied for 2 week bookings (please bring own pool and beach towels). Cleaning of the villa at the end of your stay is included. Further cleaning during your stay by negotiation with property managers. Other: Self-contained studio available to rent at extra cost only when renting villa. Shower room, kingsize bed, French windows to private terrace with mountain views,kitchenette, A/C. Great for grandparents or older children! Attached to house, own entrance.

Our Wonderful Stay at Casa Joya.

The Villa was excellent with a lovely pool and sun terraces. Everything we needed was to hand and we made very good use of the barbecue. Joy the owner was so easy to deal with and everything was absolutely straight forward. Paul and Lizzi, the villa managers came to see us and couldn't have been more helpful with slight query we had about using one of the showers. Great to know they were on hand and at the end of a phone if we did have a problem.

We enjoyed our holiday at Casa Joya! In the villa was everything you needed. The villa was clean and spacious and very well equipped. Excellent internet, great pool. The view was breathtaking!

Fantastic vacation :-)

The house and pool was as good as we hoped and even better. The road up to the house is narrow and steep, but no problem when you take it easy. 10 minutes drive to charming Torrox and between 15 - 20 minutes to the beach from the house was perfect for us. We wanted a private space and that was what we got!

The internet was suprisingly fast but sometimes it was poor, (it was very good most of the time!)

If we should suggest an improvement it is some larger pots. We are a family of 5 people with 3 boys from 14 - 21 years of age, and we need "big" pots for cooking ;-)

Thank you for a fantastic stay,and we consider very much to come again sometime!

Lovely location and stay

Visited Casa Joya from 7th May - 17th May. Had a lovely holiday, location is beautiful and views are incredible. Lucky enough to meet the owners and both were very personable and welcoming. Joy arranged a travel cot and high chair for our young baby with no problem. Also were lucky enough to visit the other property just down the lane which is offered by Tony and Joy which is also lovely. You would need transport to stay here and this location is ideal if you wanted to visit popular surrounding locations such as Frigiliana which is beautiful and also TorroxTorrox and Nerja. Cannot recommend this villa enough and we would definitely stay here again.

Amazing place!

Well, we returned home relaxed and rested after a lovely holiday at Casa Joya. To sit on the terrace with a glass of wine looking at the beautiful views then watching the sunset was amazing. We did some lovely country walks and saw eagles overhead. The beach, promenade and lots of restaurants were only a few mins drive away so we had peace and quiet at home then life when we wanted it. The villa was clean and spacious and very well equipped. We will definitely be back!

Summer at its best.

If the intention of your holiday is to relax, have sumptuous views, have all the facilities at hand, and to enjoy the best of your chosen location, then this should be for you. Yes, getting there is challenging, but the trade off is what you find at the end.

The villas position overlooks the valley interspersed with other farms and residences. There are no passing vehicles, no plane noise, just peace and the chance to enjoy the pool, the quiet spots, take in the exotic and well thought out garden, (avoid the cactus though, they bite back!!). We spent nearly every night eating on the veranda, watching the incredible sunsets, in pure silence...

The villa caters for all your needs, for the youngsters, excellent internet, great pool, loads of additional entertainment to suit.

Easy to book, excellent communication, and thanks to Paul & Lizzie for what they do best.

Try sitting by the pool looking out at the hills, and the flickering lights, just as the sun is setting, glass in hand, lost in your own thoughts.......priceless.

Nearest beach (10 mins drive) is Torrox Costa with long sandy beach. Several small coves for snorkeling short drive away. Resorts of Nerja & Torre del Mar with lovely sandy beaches 15 mins drive away. AquaVelez Water park 20 mins away.


Malaga Airport 45 mins (50km) by car. Granada Airport 1.5hrs.

Car hire is essential due to location of property.


Torrox Pueblo is 5 mins drive or 30 mins walk. There you will find a quaint plaza, bars, restaurants, shops & banks.

10mins from coastal resort of Torrox Costa with all amenities & lovely promenade lined with restaurants.

15 mins from busy resort of Nerja with Balcon de Europa, Nerja Caves & lively markets. 20 mins from resort of Torre del Mar with lots of shops & popular market.

Cosmopolitan city of Malaga 30 mins drive with museums, castle, cathedral, large port & many historic attractions.

Further Details:

Local shops, small supermarket, banks and restaurants 5 mins drive away in Torrox Pueblo with main supermarkets and good choice of restaurants in Torrox Costa. Many local markets. Large hypermarket and shopping centre 20 mins away. Granada and Alhambra Palace 1 1/2 hrs away. Leisure activities include golf, horseriding, swimming, snorkeling and scuba diving (PADI school at Nerja). Many walks from the door around local area all with stunning views. Changeover Day:
Saturday changeover during peak times but flexibility outside of peak times - please contact owner to discuss. Arrival time 3pm, departure by 11am but may be flexible arrival/departure times depending on other bookings. The studio apartment is available to rent only with the villa as extra accomodation at £200 per week.

Prices are for the villa only - per week in UK pounds.
Studio is available to let only alongside villa as extra accomodation at £200 per week.
It is only available separately out of peak season (when main villa is occupied by owners) for £220 per week self catering or £60 B&B per night. Please contact owners for availability.
