About the Owner

Here we are Lido and Luca. We have given a lot of thought about what we would do in the homes we inherited from our great-grandparents - old Tuscan farmers bound to this land. We had initially planned to sell them but then we realized we would regret this decision terribly. Renovation on the houses was done and we thought it would be nice to share all of this with our guests: the lush countryside surrounding the house and some good wine thus reflecting the simplicity of our lifestyle. So we worked patiently to make Villa Lilla into what see today. We are happy to offer you a place with bright sunlit rooms, large gardens, swimming pool plus numerous sport activities or simply organize your holidays, anniversaries and weddings. Above all we wish you a warm welcome!

Dream Villa in Beautiful Setting

  • 5 of 5

Our group of two families absolutely loved this large villa. Plenty of space for everyone young and old to spread out. We spent most of our time in the large pool or sitting at the long table on the terrace playing yahtzee and sampling the area's wonderful produce. One evening we had a chef cook for us and it was fantastic - like eating at a restaurant, but at the villa and with no washing up to do!

The beautifully furnished bedrooms are all very spacious with their own bathrooms. Very clean and well maintained, with the added bonus of air conditioning which is charged separately, but extremely reasonable assuming you don't have it on 24/7. The mosquitoes were our only bother so take some plug-ins and insect repellent with you.

The owners pop round every day and are available to organise just about anything you can think of, which included booking our table at the local pizzeria for our first and last nights (highly recommended but go early to catch the view over the valley). The level of care and attention is second-to-none and the best we've received on any trip.

The setting is really pretty and although rural it's still convenient for day trips to nearby villages and towns (10 to 20 minutes), even cities if you are prepared to travel for an hour or two. We visited Citerna, Sansepolcro and Anghiari during our stay and loved their old world charm. The young adults in our group went to Rome for the day by train from Arezzo (journey time and prices vary greatly though so check ahead of time as to which service suits you). Supermarkets are also an easy drive, and the nearest town of Fighille is walk-able. It has a small supermarket and bar/cafe which we frequented on more than one occasion!

All in all we had a fabulous relaxing time at the villa and no one wanted to leave. The children in the group absolutely loved the pool and one of our quieter teenagers declared it was 'the best holiday villa ever!'. We will all have a soft spot for this part of Italy and have fond memories to keep of our Italian holiday in Villa Ferraguzzo.

Location

From the Owner

Some of the unique benefit I enjoy in my property are: The peaceful of the Tuscany and Umbria countryside, the location that's in the countryside and at the same time in the city (we are just 5 minutes walking distance to the medieval center of Anghiari and Sansepolcro). The chirping of birds, sunset, sunrise, the large swimming pool, the charming and well furnished accommodations and of course my single presence in some hours of the day allows a privacy you absolute! Yes, I really think that Villa Lilla it's one of the best vacation rentals in Tuscany and the best vacation rental in Anghiari. It is well equipped and furnished with large open terraces and beautifully well kept gardens.

Facilities

From the Owner

Last autumn my wife and I started talking about the summer holiday 2014. We started looking for a house to rent in Tuscany and she found Villa Lilla by “accident”. This villa looked too good to be true but she submitted a price request immediately. This villa was just what we had in mind as the whole family, ourselves, our two sons and their families, wanted to go. Luca and his dad Lido doesn’t know the word no. They are doing whatever possible to make the holiday as comfortable as possible. Whatever your request is, they fix it. They were around every day, either to make sure that the stay was as perfect as possible or to cut the lawn, clean the pool or any other maintenance required. Luca organize whatever you want to do, either a trip to see all the fantastic towns in the surrounding areas, a course to learn how to make Italian pizza or anything else such as a visit to a wine producer in Chianti. Luca did also organize a taxi to Arezzo and the train for the departure of our friends. A wonderful mixture of comfort, elegance and space Great restaurants nearby that have great food at reasonable prices. The nearby mountains that go up to 9000ft are very accessible by or bike. Want old curious and interesting, drive in any direction. We are only 5 minutes from Anghiari, 10 mins from Sansepolcro and just 20 mins Arezzo, Perugia, 40 minutes, Assisi, the Caves of Frassasi, Siena and Florence. Professional catering and meals available. Friendly owners no live on site and are happy to advise on best walks; pretty pub, 1 mile. Fishing/biking can be arranged. If there are any requests or problems you deal directly with us, the owners. The Apennines, with the roads in the woods on foot, for long walks, mountain bike or motorbike enduro. Lido and Luca can organize excursions with Enduro bikes in the Apennines - driving and motorcycle must be booked before the arrival
