The Red Brick House - 4 Bed/3 Bath - is tucked just off the High Street on a cute pedestrian side street in a row of typical 'Suffolk Pink' and flint cottages - this larger airy property with its contemporary seaside décor is stylish and comfortable with plenty of space for all to come together or enjoy some peace and quiet. A great base for venturing out in Aldeburgh or further afield it is also a wonderful place to return for chilled wine and chilled evenings or a spot of sunshine and is close enough - a few paces - to the sea and High Street to pop back for lunch or that forgotten sun hat.

A highly fashionable destination for holidays and day trips, Aldeburgh remains largely the same as it has been for decades. While fishermen still sell their daily catch from huts on the beach, the high street boasts a number of award-winning restaurants and bistros.

Independent shops and galleries line the street and along with Snape Maltings Concert Hall, Aldeburgh provides the backdrop to a rich musical heritage, with Benjamin Britten’s world renowned Aldeburgh Festival of Music and the Arts held in June.

On the seafront, the Moot Hall houses the town’s museum and is a focal point, with its ancient timbers and outside staircase.

At the top of the Town Steps, leading off the High Street and up the cliff, there is a wonderful view over the roof tops and out to sea.

In nearby Leiston, the Long Shop Museum, provides a fascinating insight into the 250-year old engineering history of Richard Garrett, and Elizabeth Garrett Anderson, the first female doctor.

The RSPB’s flagship nature reserve at Minsmere is four miles from Aldeburgh and the National Trust’s Dunwich Heath, is just eight miles away.

Two miles from Aldeburgh, in Thorpeness, you can spend a day boating on the magical, early 20th Century Meare with its Peter Pan themed islands.

Spent a very pleasant weekend at the Red Brick House. We were a party of eight and there was plenty of room for everone. The house is well presented and equipped and didn't feel like a holiday let. Its position just around the corner from the high street is really convenient especially when coming back from eating at the excellent Lighthouse restaurant. The wifi was helpful as and only two of us had mobile reception. The welcome pack had everything we needed to get started and the provision of dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid etc was great.

All in all a lovely house and I would definitely stay again.

Each double bedroom has two double fitted wardrobes plus a dressing table area and plenty of drawer space. The ground floor bedroom has access through French doors to the garden and is close to the ground floor shower room making it ideal for those with limited mobility. The bunk bedded room has full sized bunk beds so can comfortably be used for adults or children, although children in particular love its seaside theme. Cot also available

Plenty of crockery cutlery utensils cookware and bake ware and serving dishes for larger groups The Red Brick House provides a Welcome Pack of useful goodies inc tea coffee sugar milk olive oil salt pepper etc plus tea light candles, beach blankets, playing cards, children and family games books some CDS DVDs etc etc. Outside there is a small enclosed courtyard garden giving parents peace of mind, with a barbecue and garden furniture for enjoying al fresco meals or a spot of sunshine. This area can be accessed from the ground floor bedroom and the kitchen and is well lit. Wifi is available throughout the property.

The property was very clean, well maintained and very welcoming.

We were a group of five adults and two small children and we recently stayed at the cottage for a long week-end. It was definitely a "home from home" as everything you could possibly want or need was provided. The lounge and bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. The cottage was on a quiet pedestrianised road, close to the high street and the sea. So it was very convenient for a quick visit to the shops or a walk on the front or beach. The courtyard garden was lovely. We would recommend the cottage to our friends or family. The welcome pack was a nice surprise.

Great location to town and beach!

We had a family long weekend break here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The house is spacious although tight around the kitchen table! However it is in an enviable location just minutes from the town and the beach. The owner is great to deal with and thoughtful. Would highly recommend it but be prepared for a little outside pedestrian traffic noise in the evenings especially.

Fabulous House in the heart of Aldeburgh

I would definitely recommend the Red Brick House to anyone who was thinking of holidaying in Aldeburgh.

A beautiful property located moments away from the beach and local amenities – it is ideal.

The house itself is well laid out and very comfortable. The house is fully equipped; everything we needed was on hand. This property is well maintained and very clean.

We were greeted with a welcome basket consisting of tea/coffee, bread, jam, butter and milk – which was greatly appreciated.

The bedrooms were good sizes and very comfortable.

The living room is well designed for entertaining. The décor is lovely and the many candles scattered around really set the atmosphere.

The owner’s were very helpful and I cannot fault their customer service. All information was sent to me very quickly and they were quick to answer other queries that I had. Communication was very easy.

Overall my friends and I really enjoyed our time at the Red Brick House and we would definitely like to stay again.
