This first floor, air conditioned, 2 bedroom apartment, is just a stroll from the village centre, the famous Villamartin Plaza, and Villamartin golf course. It overlooks one of the many communal swimming pools to the rear, and benefits from a secluded balcony at the front. Superb "blue flag" beaches are within 10 minutes drive as are 2 further magnificent golf courses, Las Ramblas and Campoamor!!!

About Mick & Ruth Williams

Mick is a retired aircraft avionics engineer and spent most of his life in a military environment and has seen a lot of the world including 5 years in Cyprus and 11 in Germany. My first overseas posting, in 1969 was Libya where I had the dubious pleasure to escort Capt. Gadhafi on a helicopter trip. From Libya I went on to Cyprus where life became so much better, and where I met Ruth and married her in December 1970. We have 2 sons, both made in Cyprus but only the first was born there; they are both on they're early 40s and doing us proud. I now spend much of my time struggling to keep the garden tidy, the pond water clear and getting the veggies to grow, not to mention in the summer, almost continuously mowing the lawn. I try to go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week, usually 3, staying alive, staying alive; and trying to figure out how mobile phones and ipads work, without much success. I now often wonder how I ever found the time to have a job!!

Ruth still works part time in a 'medical' environment, working as an administrator, receptionist and counsellor, all completely new to her and she loves it! Whilst living abroad and bringing up the boys it was often difficult to find work but she has, in her time, ridden 'shotgun' on the school bus, polished rapier missiles and been the computer typesetter for the forces newspaper in Germany for 4 years on 2 separate occasions. On our return to the UK Ruth got into property lettings and became the manager of the lettings department for a major estate agent in the south.

Why Mick & Ruth Williams chose Orihuela Area

We probably wanted to buy a property in Cyprus where we met and were married and had some very happy times, but we were both still working at the time and thought that the difference between a 2 hour flight and a 4 hour flight meant we could perhaps nip over to Spain for a weekend, we never have, probably due to the nightmare called air travel. The apartment in Villamartin was in our price range, very neat, clean and tidy and in a good area so we went for it and have enjoyed it ever since. The local area is a bit too British sometimes but the surrounding area has everything, the people are friendly and there lots of places to visit and things to se and do. We tend to be 'beach people' there are an amazing number of beaches nearby within a 15 minute drive.

Notes:
Outside: The communal pool is enclosed by a grassed and paved area, and is safe for children, with supervision, dependant on age. The area is secured by gates. Utility Room: We have no utility room but the apartment does boast a 'hair dryer', (the Ladies keep asking this question). Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen and towels (not beach towels) are included and will normally be exchanged on departure, or weekly, if appropriate. Alternative arrangements can be made, if required.

Appartement bien aménagé, fonctionnel propre climatisation oui mais dans les 2 chambre juste.

Piscine communes bien mais très bruyant place de parking manquante et à préciser pas de balcon et une route bien passante devant le logement. Acces a la piscine pas direct.Nous sommes en Espagnes mais Villamartin est un village anglais. (Lol). Bar anglais restaurant anglais. Plage à 10min oui mais il allait très tôt pour place de parking. Notre séjour c est très bien passer car nous sommes d Espagne mais nous reviendrons pas sur Villamartin.

Coast/Beach:

There are numerous 'blue flag' beaches along the coast, firm favourites, La Zenia, Cabo Roig and Campoamor are just a 10 minute drive. Most beaches will have restaurants and beach cafes for drinks and lunches, tapas a speciality.

Travel:

Murcia airport is about 25 minutes away and Alicante airport is about 45 minutes. Airport transfers can be arranged.

Distances:

Villamartin Plaza is just a few minutes stroll, where you will find a varied selection of fine restaraunts, bars, shops, the local supermarket, bank, pharmacy and a bowling alley. The square is on two levels where you can eat and drink, 'al fresco', and enjoy the atmosphere amongst the palm trees and the parrots. Most restaraunts have 'live' entertainment in the high season.

Further Details:

Torrevieja is a truly Spanish town, yet also quite cosmopolitan, it boasts fine beaches, a promenade and a marina for you to visit. There are also plenty of bars and restaurants to enjoy as well as local shops and markets. A ridiculously cheap lunch can be had at some of the 'local' beach cafes to the west of the town.
