About the Owner

Hi I am Luisa and have owned my apartment for 10 years now. I am Portuguese but have lived in England for many years. I am a grandmother and one of the reasons that attracted me to this apartment is that Balaia is such a family orientated and child friendly place.

Central Algarve is a beautiful area convenient for the airport as well as visiting other areas. Within easy reach you have Silves, which was the capital at the time the Moors occupied Algarve. At the most western point you have Sagres, where Henry the Navigator had his sailing school. Going East you can reach Spain in less than an hour.

Activity and Interests


There are several beaches within walking distance, Maria Luisa being the nearest approximately 10 minutes walk; water sports, fish restaurant and bar. Santa Eulalia beach is about 20 minutes walk away. Praia da Oura is within easy reach and offers a diving centre.


Faro Airport is approximately half an hour away. Transfers from/to airport are available privately, subject to availability or booked through Balaia's reception.

Taxis can be booked at reception. Local buses, stop outside resort, serving all local areas.

Further Details:

Balaia has a 24 hour reception and security, safety deposit boxes. We strongly recommend you use the safety deposit boxes as we cannot be responsible for any losses, personal or otherwise. There are 2 restaurants within the complex "A Varanda" and "The Club" both offering good food and theme evenings. Balaia now offer broad band access to the Internet.


Rental rates


  • Booking Notes:
    25% deposit at time of booking and balance payable 8 weeks before departure.

    Changeover Day:
    Saturday/Sunday during peak periods, flexible at other times. Entry to apartment is between 1-2 in the afternoon, earlier subject to other bookings. However, departure to be no later than 10am to allow cleaning of apartment for incoming guests.

    Prices are for the Apartment for 7 nights in UK pounds and euros.
    Longer lets welcome and prices on request. Please note price in euros is for guideline purposes only as rates change daily.

I find the location of this property very convenient as it is only 2 minutes from the supermarket where I get my fresh bread every morning for breakfast. The beach (Maria Luisa), is only 500 metres away and the restaurants towards Olhos d'Agua are within a 15 minute walk.

There are 6 swimming pools, golf, driving range and golf academy, petanque, table tennis, tennis, children's play area + Club in high season. The Health Club provides jacuzzi, steam room, gym and heated pool. There is a commercial area with supermarket, newsagent, hairdresser/beautician and clinic. To cater for all the business clients, Balaia now can offer an Internet Cafe and a wireless zone where you can plug your own laptop. Apart from the on site Health Club, you can now enjoy the deluxe SPA facilites of the Hotel Real Santa Eulalia, contact reception for for further information. Utility Room: Washing and drying machines available for longer lets. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen are included.
