Set in nearly 2 acres both gites have open views of the countryside giving you the perfect opportunity to combine a relaxing holiday with essential sight seeing. Logis de Tertre offers you the ideal location for a holiday that is the essence of France - sun, wines, cheeses and good food! Resident English owners Christina and Mike Pearcy will be delighted to welcome you to Logis de Tertre. Only a half hours drive from the picturesque town of La Rochelle, Logis de Tertre is the ideal base to explore both the Atlantic Coast and the countryside of Poitou Charente, There are numerous attractions - old and new -to suit all tastes and ages and make your holiday a really enjoyable time. From pretty canalside villages of the Marais Poitevin to the historic naval town of Rochefort, from Cognac to Futuroscope at Poitiers there is something for all.
We have lived in France as residents since the spring of 2003 having fell in love with the country over the previous twenty years of family holidays in various locations. Prior to coming here we lived in Solihull in the West Midlands since getting married in 1971.
We have two married sons. Our eldest son lives in the UK and our younger son lives in Brisbane, Australia. Both have families of their own and we are the proud grandparents of five grandsons and one granddaughter.
As we live here permanently we are only too pleased to welcome you here and will be delighted to help and advise you to ensure you have an enjoyable holiday.
The Owner purchased this farmhouse in 2003
Despite all the advice we were given about not buying the first house we saw, we immediately fell in love with Logis de Tertre the moment we saw it. The similarities with Christina's parents Welsh cottage were amazing and with that in mind we eventually decided to name the gites after 'Trisant' the village they lived in and 'Bronwain' the name of their cottage.
Our career backgrounds in architecture and construction enabled us to see past the dilapidated condition and the potential that the property offered. Many would have found the task daunting, but with a good local architect and artisans we were able to complete the major renovations and create our two gites in six months. Our rural location of peace and quiet ideal has easy access to the Autoroutes or La Rochelle airport.
A holiday at Logis de Terte combines a quiet and peaceful location with the ability to easily visit a wide range of attractions to suit all tastes and budgets. The old port area of La Rochelle is a delight with its narrow pedestrianised streets and many bars and restaurants. We are also on the edge of the famous Marais Poitevin with its network of canals and pretty villages. The offshore islands of Ile de Re and Ile d'Oleron are a 'must' to visit with their harbour villages and sandy beaches. Whatever you like to do on holiday this area will give you the opportunity of experiencing a wide range of activities which will not disappoint you. That, combined with the region being the second sunniest area of France will ensure you will have a holiday to remember.
Another enjoyable holiday at Logis de Tertre. It was great having both gites this year ! Our eldest learnt to swim here this year so we are very happy. Thanks for being so tolerant of all our water inflatables and for being so thoughful in proving a paddling pool for the babies.
