About the Owner

We have lived in France as residents since the spring of 2003 having fell in love with the country over the previous twenty years of family holidays in various locations. Prior to coming here we lived in Solihull in the West Midlands since getting married in 1971.

We have two married sons. Our eldest son lives in the UK and our younger son lives in Brisbane, Australia. Both have families of their own and we are the proud grandparents of five grandsons and one granddaughter.

As we live here permanently we are only too pleased to welcome you here and will be delighted to help and advise you to ensure you have an enjoyable holiday.

An excellent gite with outstanding facilities

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a 2 week stay at this fabulous gite. The gite had excellent facilities; everything you could possibly need was provided for. Mike and Christina, the gite owners, live next door and were the perfect hosts. They gave us fabulous information about the local area including musical festivals, markets and local towns which really improved our experience of the area. There are a huge number of beaches, and towns or villages including La Rochelle, Ile de Re, Fouras, within driving distance.

The grounds surrounding the gite are beautiful and are abundant with butterflies. There is plenty of space for children (and adults) to play games including badminton, boules, frisby, football and any other game Many games are provided in the barn adjacent to the field.

The swimming pool is just perfect. After a day sight seeing a dip in the pool was a delight at the end of the day. During our trip the pool and surrounding area was immaculately maintained by Mike.

We would highly recommend this gite. It is excellent value for money.

We had such a fabulous time, we will be returning next year and have already booked.

From the Owner

Despite all the advice we were given about not buying the first house we saw, we immediately fell in love with Logis de Tertre the moment we saw it. The similarities with Christina's parents Welsh cottage were amazing and with that in mind we eventually decided to name the gites after 'Trisant' the village they lived in and 'Bronwain' the name of their cottage. Our career backgrounds in architecture and construction enabled us to see past the dilapidated condition and the potential that the property offered. Many would have found the task daunting, but with a good local architect and artisans we were able to complete the major renovations and create our two gites in six months. Our rural location of peace and quiet ideal has easy access to the Autoroutes or La Rochelle airport.
