Casa Caldera is a detached villa consisting of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and privately heated pool. The villa is single storey and very spacious. The gardens are totally enclosed including locking gates for child safety and privacy. Situated in the quiet and exclusive Los Mojones area of Puerto del Carmen above the old town and harbour, the best restaurants, bars and shopping centre are only a 10 minute walk. The main beach is a 25 minute walk. The sea and the unique Lanzarote mountains can be seen from the terrace.

About Sharon Redbond

My wife Sharon and I bought and have run this villa since 2005. We have 4 children who are now grown up and independent but when we purchased in 2005 we all had a holiday at Casa Caldera to test it and make sure everything worked which it did and still does!

Louise, who manages our villa is British but has lived on Lanzarote since she was a teenager and so speaks fluent Spanish and is very well connected on the island. She has provided exemplary service in terms of maintenance, emergencies and of course cleanliness since 2005.

Why Sharon Redbond chose Puerto del Carmen

We purchased in the Los Mojones area of Puerto del Carmen because it is a slightly up market area and yet close to the old town and harbour where the best restaurants are. It is also not far from the sea and in a quiet area with easy access onto the main roads for getting to other parts of the island.

The superb marina and tapas bars of Puerto Calero is only 10 minutes drive away.

Thank you so much for letting us rent your villa - it is a great villa, the photo's don't really do it justice.



The whole villa was fantastic and really well equipped, it was beautifully clean and obviously well cared for.



The Welcome Pack was also greatly appreciated - we arrived on Christmas afternoon and had been worried that the shops might be closed but the pack meant we could relax until the next day - a very thoughtful touch.



I had been a little nervous about possible road noise but I can honestly say that we never heard it, it is in a very quiet area.



The views are lovely too, it was great to stand at the kitchen window and look out to the sparkling sea in the distance.



Once again thank you for letting us rent your villa and when we next go back to Lanzarote I know that we will be checking to see if it is available.

The main town is 15 minutes walk away. The very exclusive marina at Puerto Calero is 2km away and has shops and restaurants. Arrecife is Lanzarote's main city and is a 15 minute drive where all the major shops and department stores are found.

Fantastic villa, brilliant location

Having been provided with location details (worth mentioning that the pre holiday communication with Sharon was both regular and helpful), the journey from the airport was a speedy 10 minutes and around 18 euros. Access to the property was as described and fortunately we were also able to get in before the official check in time.

What a place! The look on my children's faces was a picture! Huge bedrooms for them and us, lovely spacious kitchen, utility area and lounge area but the crowning glory has to be the pool and patio area, providing so much room for us all to relax (for most of the holiday we couldn't see or hear each other there was so much space!)

The property was spotless (and I have a cleanliness obsessed wife!) and we were able to start the holiday immediately. There are plenty of utensils etc in the kitchen and the all important dishwasher and washing machine proved invaluable. there is also an excellent Wi-Fi connection (a must for today's teenagers!)

The pool, like the rest of the property, was well maintained and we had regular visits from Tony throughout our stay to ensure it was functioning and clean.

The property is away from the hustle and bustle of del Carmen but if you're after peace and quiet (and I mean really quiet!) in a really nice area then I don't think you can beat it. We are regular visitors to Puerto del Carmen and have stayed in several other types of accommodation in several other areas and this was by far the best. A 30 minute stroll takes you to the heart of the strip and the harbour is around 10 minutes away.

All in all we couldn't find one negative aspect of this property. A lot of effort has clearly gone in to ensuring those using it feel right at home from the minute they arrive. I would hesitate to recommend the property to others in case it is not available when we look to book our next trip to del Carmen!

Great time

We arrived early and the villa was ready to go, there were pool towels, a welcome pack and a thorough guide to all the local attractions and restaurants etc. Property was spotless, more than enough pans and crockery( we are a couple) for six people. Lots of homely touches that you dont find in the large company villas,Pool was always warm and cleaned twice in our stay, Tony and Louise (local reps) came to see we were happy with everything and were helpful with advice for shops and entertainment. The villa is in a quiet location on a hill near the Old Town. You can walk to the nearest shops and bars in under 10 minutes and its downhill all the way, a car is useful if you want to do a major shop, taxis are plentiful and cheap. Would definitely go back.

Not a good experience.

We booked the villa inially only for two of us then my daughter and my 8 month old grandson decided to join us. We had problems getting through the owner to ask for the high chair and the Cot. The payment is made directly to the owners, which concerned us when we couldn't get through. When we arrived there was strong damp and musty smell which cleared after a few days of by leaving the doors open. The dead plants gave the impression that this house has not been used for a while. We had power cut and burst pipe, although Louise, the local agent was easily contactable and problems were resolved. She and her husband Tony are very business like. I would not classify them as friendly. My husband closed the front door accidantly with key in the door and we could not get in. Louise explained that we had to pay for the additional cost. This was 156 euro and the invoice was made up by Louise's company and the lock was not even changed.

Location is too from restaurants and shops and we end up getting a car for a duration of one week. It is easily walkable downhill but when going up hill with groceries is not so pleasant. The house has no heating, couple of electric heaters and was pretty uncomfortable in the evenings. The extra blankets in the cupboard were very unfresh and I ended up using the blankets from spare room. The kitchen is very well equipped and there is plenty of hot water. The house is not bad value for money although the direct view from the house is looking over other villas. Based on my experience I cannot recommend the house.

Owner's Response: Louise and Tony have managed our villa for 13 years with no issues. They are experts at what they do, including offering their mobile numbers to all of our guests for assistance. While quickly organising a call out we refused to pay for the lock smith because this guest locked their keys in the villa including leaving a key inserted in the door on the inside, which meant an expensive repair.

Nice villa, top service by villa manager

The description and photo's of the villa are very accurate and fully correct. Everything was well-functioning as it should. Property was very clean at arrival. Weekly cleaning during which bedsheets and towels were changed. Nicely situated area old harbour, hotel Flora. Excellent customer service as well as by owners Sharon and David (speedy answers on all questions before leaving) as by Louise (who helped us out with a problem within 15 minutes). Nice pool well maintained. Sunbeds fine. WiFi connection superb during our entire stay. Two improvement proposals : Would have appreciated some extra kitchenware. Number of West European TV channels very limited. I surely would recommended this property to my best friends. Price/quality more than fine (having stayed in more than 5 similar premises in Lanzarote over the previous years).

In need of refurbishment

ArrivEd at villa settled in 10pm no power rang Louise explained our dilemma only to be told we will have to wait till morning to get it sorted.not a good start.Tony arrived next morning found problem and covered out side socket with tape.not a great fix with young inquisitive child.the pool it self needs a lot of attention small plastic cover on bottom of pool came away from Base to leave a rather large hole for your foot to get stuck in.took this to the attention of Tony which he said would fix but never did.some tiles cracked on pool also.shower in main bathroom was not fit for purpose so everyone had to use en suite shower which is not ideal.curtain pool loone in bedrooms.curtains on sliding doors do nor fit correctly.all in all a very tired villa which needs a lot of attention. We never had the pleasure of meeting Louise thought this was highly ignorant not to even introduce herself.we have rented villas in pdc for at least 10 years now and this is by far the worst we have ever stayed in.would not recommended this villa to anyone as there are far nicer on the island for less money.

Owner's Response: Linda, Thank you for the feedback as we do rely on this from guests in order to know about issues and problems so they can be fixed. Most of your problems would have been fixed had you reported them at the start of or during your stay. We understand your party was two adults and a child. Coincidentally, my wife and I are at the villa now until 1 November, so immediately after your stay. We have noted the comments all of which shall be addressed while we are on the island and we shall update this response accordingly. We are however very surprised by the remarks about Louise and Tony who have managed the property since 2005 and about whom we have always had very positive comments and personally hold in high regard. Louise always does a welcome visit but obviously cannot wait at each villa. Louise took your call at gone 10pm and both she and Tony came to the villa the following day (Tony at 0930h). Unfortunately you were out when Louise arrived. Finally, apologies for sounding a bit defensive but 'ignorant' is not an adjective we can in any way associate with Louise, she and her team really are quite the opposite as evidenced by every other guest comment. ALL ISSUES BAR THE POOL SUMP COVER ARE NOW FIXED. POOL SUMP COVER DUE FOR REPAIR NEXT THURSDAY 3 NOV. With best regards Sharon & Dave R

Great villa

Villa was lovely and clean a great size for our party of 4 adults and 2 kids.

Louise arrived to check everything was okay and Tony popped in to check and clean the pool.

Would definitely recommend this villa.
