About the property

Villa due Cipressi has two apartments for rent, one for 6 the other for 2 or 4. A third apartment is occupied by the owners. The Villa is situated in a superb position with magnificent views to the nearby town of Trevi, which can be reached by foot in only ten minutes. Trevi has an unspoilt charm and offers several very good restaurants, a pizzeria, bars and shops. The beautifully restored Villa lies in a semi-fortified estate just outside the city walls. Below the house, reached by an ancient, arched stone staircase, is the secluded garden which has a large salt water swimming pool (12m x 6m). Both apartments have private terraces with wonderful views across the surrounding countryside. The apartments are spacious, light and furnished in a modern style.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We find Traviata to be very satisfying. Location and facilities excellent, and your warm hosting overwhelming.

We spent a week in La Traviata - a beautiful villa, spacious, clean and well-equipped. The large swimming pool and comfortable sun loungers were much appreciated on sunny days. Fiona and Richard were perfect hosts - nothing was too much trouble for them to sort out and they helped us arrange bike hire and recommended restaurants in the town. The villa is really well placed to walk into Trevi and has easy access to footpaths across the lovely Umbrian landscapes. We highly recommend a stay in La Traviata - we felt very much at home there and chatting to Fiona and Richard felt like talking to old friends.

Wonderful property, great location, super hosts

  • 5 of 5

We cant recall how we got lucky enough to find this wonderful place, but are just thankful - we didn't want to leave !

The apartment was spacious, nicely furnished, and surprisingly well equipped with cooking kit and gear. Everything throughout was super clean, high quality and comfortable.

The town of Trevi is really nice for a wander round, ice cream or lunch/dinner, and you can walk there in 10 minutes, and see it from the windows. Plus stunning views across the valley for maybe 10 miles. Lovely big warm pool, a suntrap till dusk.

Our hosts Fiona & Richard were there to welcome us and were often about if needed, but not at all intrusive, we were able to almost call it our home.

If your'e going out of season, there's a lovely big fireplace, radiators and new windows.

Its no wonder they are stacked out with bookings, this place is a gem. We'll be back !

Italy in October

  • 4 of 5

We had not stayed in this part of Italy before but received a warm welcome and had a fantastic stay

Trevi is a delightful small hill town. We arrived in the middle of their annual celebration of the celery crop. Had not appreciated that there were so many ways to eat celery but all great fun

The apartment has wonderful views of the town which is a short walk up a steepish hill

The mountain scenery half an hours drive to the south east is breathtaking.

Bevangna a few miles to the west is a perfect little town with an excellent fish restaurant

Wonderful holiday at Traviata, Trevi, Umbria

  • 5 of 5

We have just returned from a very relaxing holiday staying at Traviata apartment in rural Trevi, Umbria. Fiona and Richard were lovely, helpful hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The apartment was clean, comfortable and well equipped, everything worked for us! The views are stunning! We had a pretty terrace and use of gardens and pool area which are beautiful. Large pots with exotic plants are dotted around the terrace and there's a clean pool with sun loungers. This place is a great base for touring Umbria. Trevi is your typical Italian hilltop town, it also has some great places to eat. We found ourselves sitting in the square with a cappuccino just watching the world go by, perfect! We hope to return again.

Didn't live up to expectations

  • 2 of 5

We recently spent two weeks at Traviiata. Fiona and Richard were very helpful overall but we found the standard of the accomodation disappointing in many respects. A number of appliances were in a poor state of repair including the iron, ironing board, the coffee maker. and 4the "spa bath". The lounge furniture was shabby. While we accept that the pool was being prepared for summer the pool and pool area were very run down and unwelcoming.

Owner's Response: How a tear in the ironing board cover ruined a five star rating…. Because all the other criticisms are quite untrue. We have never offered a “spa bath”. One just needs to read the description. The weather wasn’t great in late April (hence we open the pool always in May) and maybe this was why the guests didn’t venture into the garden which, from our photos, can be seen to be clean and well equipped with beautiful loungers. Shame that bad weather can distort one’s impression. As for the ‘shabby furniture’ the photos prove otherwise.
