The house and cottage are enclosed with gardens and pool to the rear (normally open May-Sept) and ample off-road parking to the front. La Chapelle is ideally situated between the market towns of Sauze Vaussais and Chef Boutonne, in a peaceful rural hamlet, truly away from it all, superb for walking and cycling with fields of sunflowers and a wide variety of wildlife. Locally there are some excellent inexpensive restaurants with local specialities. The area has many rivers, lakes, chateaux and Roman churches. The larger towns of Poitiers, Niort and Angouleme, all good for shopping and days out, are all around 40 minutes away. The picturesque Marais Poiteven, the Green Venice of France, with its network of canals ideal for boating and sightseeing is also within easy distance. Over on the coast, around an hours drive away, are the famous Atlantic resorts of La Rochelle, Isle de Re, Royan and the Isle d'Oleran, famed as the prettiest and most traditional resorts with sandy beaches.
Wanting to spend more time together as a family, we moved to France in September 2005 with our 2 boys, Oliver and Karl who were 7 and 5 at the time, to start a new challenge.

Our rural location offers us the best of both worlds, peace and quiet and the freedom that gives our children but we are still close to local amenities. We are an easy drive to the beaches of La Rochelle and Ile de Ré or canoeing in the Charentes. And then in the evenings, as we have no light pollution, you can sit stargazing with a glass or two of wine.
Our aim is to ensure you have the holiday you want.
A 25% deposit is required when booking, with the balance becoming due 8 weeks before your holiday. A refundable breakage deposit of £150 is required and will be refunded within a week of your departure.
We aim to have the properties available for occupancy after 4pm. Guests are asked to vacate the properties by 10am leaving the properties clean and tidy.
We do not accept pets.
We ask smokers to not smoke inside the properties.

All prices are per property per week in UK Pounds.
Discounts for couples out of main season and long winter lets are available on application, as are flexible start/finish dates. Fuel for the woodburners can be provided at cost.
