A delightful four bedroom Villa with beautiful views to the sea at Lagos. Situated on the Funchal Ridge, with views to Lagos & the sea, the Villa is set in its own mature gardens with a secluded pool, bbq area & tennis court. The Villa is ideally suited for both families &/or groups of friends, where you are able to stay and enjoy the Villa or explore the surrounding area. The beautiful & expansive beaches of the south & west coasts are within easy reach & 3 golf courses are within a 15 min drive. The historic town of Lagos is close by with its local markets, restaurants & night life. On the ground floor, there are four comfortable bedrooms, with three having direct access to the pool & gardens. All bar one of the bedrooms has en-suite bathroom, with the fourth having a separate bathroom. Upstairs is a spacious living room with comfortable sofas, TV & wifi, surrounded by a large terrace with wonderful views to Lagos & the sea, with separate kitchen and dining room.

About the Owner

As a family we bought a house in Praia da Luz nearly 50 years ago. As the area got busier we moved from there in 1966 to Ancoradouro which is situated on the Funchal ridge in the hills mid way between Lagos and Praia da Luz and set in its own grounds with garden, swimming pool and tennis court.

Beautiful villa

We had a superb time at the villa. It is spacious, clean and well equipped with almost everything you could want.

The owner and the agent there were very helpful. The maid cleans every day. The pool and tennis court are very good too with seating, loungers and shade. We had children and grandchildren with us and everyone liked it. We will definitely recommend this to anyone.

Fantastic

First off, the villa is beautiful, the grounds are kept beautifully and is situated in a quiet area away from town. The owner was a pleasure to deal with and always open for communication, the maid that comes to clean in the mornings is no trouble at all and tries her best to not get in the way. Lagos itself is a beautiful part of the Algarve with plenty to do during the day and at night, we will definitely be going again.

Ancoradouro is secluded and one of the few properties in the area with its own tennis court as well as a swimming pool. The gated grounds are secure and it is only 5 minutes away from both Lagos and Praia da Luz.

Coast/Beach:

The beautiful beaches of Praia da Luz/Burgau are a 5/10 min drive, offer safe bathing (Lifeguard Apr-Oct) & other facilities. Along from Burgau is the lovely beach at Cabanas Velas, before continuing to the beaches at Salema & Sagres. Lagos has 6km golden sands of Meia Praia, coves of Batata Beach, Praia Dona Ana & do Camilo, all beautiful & offer safe bathing (Lifeguard Apr-Oct). Stunning beaches on the west coast (popular with surfers) only a 30 min drive. Watersports can be organised locally.

Travel:

Faro Airport is 90km from the Villa. Car hire is recommended but taxis are available to book.

Distances:

The historic town of Lagos is approx 4km from the Villa with many shops, supermarkets, local fish market, marina, beaches, restaurants and bars. The seaside village of Praia da Luz with shops, supermarket, restaurants and beach is approx 4.0km. To the west are Cape St Vincent and Sagres and to the east is the Monchique mountain range and the ancient town of Silves. The west coast surfing beaches are a 30 min drive & are generally quieter & a complete change from the beaches on the south coast.

Further Details:

Horse riding, walking, surfing, water skiing, boat trips and other watersports can all be organised locally.

  • Notes on accommodation: Local English managing Agent in Praia da Luz. Outside: The Villa is set in a mature &, secluded garden. The private kidney shaped swimming pool is 10x6m with steps (depth 1.2 -2.2m), with sun loungers and sun shades. Three of the bedrooms have French doors leading to the pool and garden. Adjacent to the pool is a built in barbeque with a covered eating area with table and chairs. There is also a private hard tennis court leading off from pool area. On the first floor of the Villa, there is a large terrace with teak table, chairs & sun shade with wonderful views to Lagos & the sea. Utility Room: Washing machine, ironing board in utility room. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels and linen included and changed weekly. Daily maid service 9am until 1pm except Sunday and Public Holidays.
