Apartment in San Jaime, Son Bou, Menorca - Large Secluded Sun Terrace and Sea Views Over Son Bou Beach

Situated in the attractive Alto Mar development above San Jaime, Apartment E3 offers magnificent panoramic views over Son Bou Beach. The development is ideal for individuals or families who wish to enjoy a relaxing holiday and who will appreciate the beautifully maintained gardens surrounding the apartment. Adult and child pools are available for the exclusive use of residents. San Jaime is approx. 20mins from Mahon Airport and ideally located for easy access to other parts of this lovely island. The resort of San Jaime with its varied shops and restaurants is approx. 10mins walk from the apartment and the beach lies beyond. There are ample sources of groceries in the complex and there is a small supermarket close by, attached to the Hotel San Valentin.

Son Bou Apartment

Lovely apartment with great views from large balcony -esp the sunset in the evenings. Inside living space not the biggest but we hardly used it and sat out on the balcony (wind down sunshade over outside table for afternoon shade) and barbecue available. 5-10 minute walk to bars/restaurants but down steps so longer going back - add another 5 minutes to beach. We would recommend getting a car as the island is worth exploring and the towns and harbours of Ciutidella and Mahon are lovely - plus lots of beaches all around the island. Car also useful for shopping due to the steps. The beach is long and sandy with pedalo slides and an offshore inflatable for climbing/jumping off for hire. Also quieter spots if required further along. Shared Pool near the apartment was great and a good size. Esp early evening to cool down a bit. Most we had sharing was 4 families at one time and plenty big enough for that. We would not really recommend for those with under 4's due to the number of steps around but if you use a car to go to the resort then the steps to and from the car park and pool would probably be ok. We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 weeks here.

Owner's Response: Tim, many thanks for your kind review. Agreed the apartment hasn't got the largest indoor space, but the terrace is the main living area as you pointed out. I also agree the elevation means it is a walk down to the centre and beach, and a longer walk back, but the height means the views are amazing! It is a good point you make that car hire is essential for exploring the island...and very useful for the beach trips in Son Bou itself as it saves the uphill walk. I am pleased you enjoyed the shared pool..it is indeed a blessing to cool down early evening. So glad you had an enjoyable holiday, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon!

Activity and Interests

Car: recommended


The longest beach on the island, seen from the terrace, is only 10 minutes walk away (or 3 minutes by car) and provides a fabulous walk from San Jaime to Santo Tomas. Plenty of space, particularly at the Santo Tomas end even in busy times, where swimwear is definitely optional! A couple of beach bars/restaurants provide good refreshments either sitting in, or to take away and an early morning stroll followed by breakfast is the perfect start to the day.


Mahon airport is only 20 minutes easy drive from San Jaime. Car hire pick-up is easy and highly recommended to make the most of your stay as access to other areas of the island is quick and easy.


Nearest towns are Alaior and Es Mercadal, both only 10 minutes away, and having a good selection of bars and restaurants.

The main centres of Mahon and Cuitadella are also easily reached in 20 to 30 minutes respectively and both provide a wide range of cultural experiences not to be missed.

Tennis courts are available 5 minutes' walk from the apartment, either at the Hotel St. Valentin or in the grounds of the Son Bou Garden Apartments.

Booking Notes:
A deposit of £150 is required to secure the booking with the balance payable 7 weeks before the holiday. If the holiday is booked less than 8 weeks from commencement, the full charge is payable. All clients are required to take out holiday/ cancellation insurance. If you fail to insure or if your claim does not qualify the following applies –
a) if we are unable to re-let, all sums paid shall be forfeit.
b) If we re-let, we shall refund all sums paid, less handling charge £30 per week.

Changeover Day:
Friday preferred. Off-season, other days will be considered dependent on other bookings.

Outside: There is ample room on the terrace for alfresco dining/sunbathing/entertaining. A peaceful evening on the terrace enjoying the wonderful sunsets is a pleasure not to be missed. Table with 6 chairs for dining plus 4 full size sunloungers. Canopy over main dining area. 'Key only' access to large communal pool with child area. Beautifully maintained landscaped gardens, fishpond and quiet off street parking directly behind the apartment. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen and towels provided and changed weekly. Please bring your own beach/swimming towels.
