One of the best locations in Port De Soller

If a priority for your holiday is to wake up every morning with warmth of the Mediterranean sunlight flooding onto your balcony, then you couldn't do better than this apartment. You might think in this region that sunlight won't be a problem. Mid-summer you'd be right, but if your holiday is in the late Autumn, as ours was, a lot of the port is in shade in the mornings due to the high surrounding hills. The exception is the old fishing quarter where this flat is situated. Other plus points are that the flat is spacious. Also that it sleeps 4, so would suit a family. On the final Sunday of our stay the water heater broke down. We phoned the managing agency and they came round within half an hour with a set of keys for a nearby empty apartment where we could use the shower. So no complaints about the service! We were staying at the end of the season, with no booking after ours, and the owners allowed us to check out late because of that, which was kind of them. Unfortunately, there were some negatives. All problems that would be easily fixable with a bit of care. The bedroom doors scraped loudly against the floor, so if you went out of the bedroom in the night you'd wake your partner. The bathroom had no shelves - we resorted to putting washbags on top of the washing machine. We couldn't find the washing machine instructions. Luckily the apartment has excellent Wi-Fi, so we got them from the internet instead. When we arrived, the cleaning mops had been placed in an open cupboard in the bedroom. In fact there was no separate cupboard outside of the bedrooms for the cleaning equipment. The welcome pack containing the all important medical emergency contact information was inadequate and disorganised, in our opinion. There were a few other small things, which we won't mention, because, despite that, we'd still strongly recommend the accommodation.

Best balcony in Port de Soller

We stayed here for 12 lovely days, the apartment is clean spacious and very well laid out, all the things you need. Wi-Fi made accessing the world nice and easy which also meant I could access my whole record collection on my iPhone.

The flat is just up from the port side of town, lots of lovely places to eat a short walk away, and it is far enough away to be quiet when you want a night at home.

Why would you want to spend time at home, well some of the nicest evenings I’ve enjoyed were sitting on the balcony, enjoying a nice bottle of local wine with some local ham and cheeses, looking out as the sun went down on Port de Soller listening to my favorite music on my portable speaker I took with me.

A lovely apartment in a lovely place, we will definitely give it a visit again, may be they will have installed a music centre with an iPhone connecter by then, if not Ill take my portable speaker again.

Not what it seems

Booked this apartment for a week in April but got deposit back and did not stay. Apartment has NOT been fully reburbished, it is smelly and scruffy. Parking is impossible as they spaces round and about are for residents only. The views however ARE fabulous. Would not recommend.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments. We apreciate it every comment even it is not positive. We realised of the problem with one of the walls inside the bedroom due to a water lik. As we did not see it before your arrival the wall look bad and it smell of humidity. I kindly refunded you in full, as it has to be. Apologies for this again. Regarding the other commnets I have to say that they are not right. The add reads: Newly furnished and decorated with new kitchen and bathroom. Plus it does not read with parking. One can access by car to download but it is not allowed to park as it residents only. We would have told you where exactly to park and for free at only a few metres from the flat. In any case we have already repaired the lik and the walls were looked bad and all is now painted and looks fresh once again. In any case please accept our apologies as this was totally unexpected.

Gut gelegen aber sehr hellhörig

Wir waren schon sehr oft in Port de Sóller und haben bei dieser Wohnung sehr die Lage in der Nähe des Hafens geschätzt. Allerdings ist das Haus sehr hellhörig. Z. B. verlaufen die Abwasserrohre der darüber liegenden Wohnung quasi unisoliert durch das Schlafzimmer. Wenn man keinen sehr tiefen Schlaf hat, kann es passieren, dass man morgens früh geweckt wird. Auch hört sich jedes normale Stühlerücken von oben wie ein Umzug an. Aber da wir meistens ohnehin tagsüber viel unterwegs waren, war das nicht so gravierend.

Die Ausstattung der Wohnung ist ok, es jst alles vorhanden, was man braucht. Wobei hie und da ein paar kleinere Überholungsarbeiten sinnvoll wären. Das kann aber auch damit zusammenhängen, dass wir zu Saisonende da waren.

Activity and Interests

Coast/Beach:

Beaches are a few minutes walk away and boat trips are available from the marina. Sun loungers and pedaloes are available for hire on the beaches.

Travel:

Palma Airport is approximately 30km and 35 minutes drive. Taxis are readily available from the airport as is car hire if you wish to explore the island. Car hire is also available in Port Soller.

Distances:

The beautiful villages of Deia and Valldemossa are a short distance away and also on the local bus routes.

Further Details:

The apartment is in a beautiful, peaceful location but close to many bars, shops and restaurants. The closeness of the Tramuntana mountains make it an ideal spot for walkers and climbers and the beaches close to the bars and restaurants are great for sun lovers.
