Located near the town square, right in front of the “Sierra de Tramuntana” mountain range; it has beautiful views over the plains of the most of the island. Can Rafael is the ideal starting point for car excursions or long walks discovering the surroundings of Selva and the mountains. Can Rafael is a typical Majorcan town house with a living area of approx. 250 SqM with 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, an ample living room with fire place, a study and a large well equipped kitchen, and a garage. There is central heating for the cooler months and air conditioning on the first floor. It is decorated in a typical Mallorcan country style.

Spacious townhouse in Selva with fantastic views. Highly recommended.

The house is located in one of the streets just off the main square in Selva. Although you're in the town, at the back there are fantastic views and you can see all the way to Alcudia Bay. It's very spacious inside, with 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms as well as two sitting-room areas. It's mainly decorated in a traditional style, with lots of beautiful paintings, but two of the bathrooms have been refurbished recently.

There's plenty of outside seating surrounded by plants and flowers, whether you want to be in the sun or out of it, as well as a terrace leading out of the sitting room on the first floor. The pool is very clean, with Roman steps at one end. In the garden on the level below, there are fig, lemon, lime and pomegranate trees and it was great to be able to pick some of the fruit. Although the house is located next to a restaurant, the noise is very minimal and didn't disturb us at all. There are also several good restaurants in the main square, as well as a bakery and shop etc, so you don't need a car to pick up essentials (although we had one to get to Selva from the airport and to visit other places). There's also a small supermarket within walking distance.

All in all, we had a great week and will definitely visit Selva again.

Lovely place to stay, great location!

Lovely old rambling house at the top of a narrow street just off the main square; heaps of space inside and amazing views out across the valley. The swimming pool was icy cold (start of March) but it would be fantastic in the Summer. The oranges and lemons from the garden were a nice treat.

I was there for a week's cycling, and Selva is a great base if that's what you're doing.

"Can Rafael 'is a typical old Mallorcan house, comfortable, spacious and well equipped. Decorated in a typical Mallorcan style, some of the furniture are from nineteenth century. There is central heating for the cooler and air conditioning on the first floor for the summer months. Small size and located in the quiet village of Selva, near the square and the church. Far from the mass tourism routes the village is on top of a hill in the center of the island and you can enjoy beautiful views of the plains of Mallorca from the terrace of the house or visit the typical Majorcan restaurants and bars. The house is the ideal starting point for car excursions or long walks to discover the surrounding of Selva, trekking or hiking in the mountains of the Serra de Tramuntana.Also it is ideal as a base for cycling routes. In the nearby town of Inca, there are excellent shops with a large weekly market in the city center on Thursdays and some typical restaurants to sample Majorcan cuisine. From Inca, the capital, Palma, is easily accessible by train, from where you can take the tourist train to Soller through the mountains. The Inca road through the village and continue up into the mountains of the mountain range 'Serra de Tramuntana', towards Torrent de Pareis and towns of Sóller, Deià and Valldemossa. The beaches of Alcudia and Port de Pollensa can be reached easily as well. For users of GPS data from the steps of the church of Selva (next to the house) are N 39deg, 45382 54090 E 2DEG Elevation 132m by 1950 European datum

The village is in the centre of the island it is easy to reach any beach in the island including Palma beach, Santa Ponsa, Es Trenc etc.

Away from the tourism trail the village is at the top of a hill and you can enjoy beautiful views over the plains of Mallorca from the terrace of the house or visit the typical Mallorcan restaurants and bars nearby.

The house is the ideal starting point for car excursions or long walks discovering the surroundings of Selva and the mountains. In the nearby town of Inca, there are excellent shopping facilities with a large weekly market in the town centre on Thursdays as well as some of the typical Mallorcan cellar restaurants.

From Inca, the capital, Palma, is easily reached by train, from where you can take the scenic rail way to Soller through the mountains. The road from Inca continues up into the mountains of the “Sierra de Tramuntana” mountain range, towards Torrent de Pareis and on to the villages of Soller, Deia and Valldemosa. The Alcudia and Port de Pollensa beaches are easily reached too.

For GPS users the steps of the church of Selva are N 39deg, 45,382 by E 2deg 54,090 Elevation 132m using the European 1950 datum.

  • Outside: There is a spacious terrace, with very beautiful views, around the pool. The swimming pool is 4.5 x 8m. and 1,80 x 2,10m deep. There is a porch and the furniture needed to dinner outside and sunloungers, outside lights and swimming pool lights. Utility Room: Laundry room with washing machine and space for drying inside. Iron & ironing board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Linen for the week is supplied and for stays over 7 days. The house is cleaned before arrival. If you require a cleaning during your stay this can be arranged at an extra cost of around 11 €. an hour. The swimming pool is cleaned a week.
