About this property

Villa With Private Pool And Lovely Country Views

Casa Kuito is our lovely villa in a peaceful rural setting overlooking the hills close to the historic town of Estoi, famous for is 18th Century Viscount's Palace and Roman Ruins. The villa is on a very quiet side road 5 minutes by car from Estoi, with no overlooking houses and panoramic views over the hills. The two bedroomed villa has a large south facing private pool with chill out sunbeds and shades, BBQ and al fresco dining area, veranda with bistro table for quiet sundowners and all amenities (free internet, multi channel TV, DVDs and fully equipped kitchen). Transport links are excellent - we are only 20 mins from Faro airport, within easy driving distance of many beaches and golf courses and close to the motorway to the Western Algarve or Spain ( but cannot hear it at all it's on the other side of the hill). Estoi has small supermarkets, local restaurants and a monthly street market.

Peaceful and private

Overall we had an enjoyable time here … very peaceful and private - which was our key requirement with a good sized pool The property is a little tired but reflective in the price and it would benefit from air conditioning as the first few nights were extremely hot … there are fans provided but they are not adequate in extreme heat … It’s about 20 mins drive to most decent places and that is fine for us as we had peace and quiet .

Nice villa.Great location if you have a car.

Idyllic countryside location. Only noise is barking dogs but you get that everywhere, otherwise lovely and peaceful. You definitely need a car, nothing is within walking distance. Villa is a bit tatty but that didn’t bother us at all. It’s fine.Pool is lovely, bedding is clean.Garden is a delight. Bit musty on arrival but that probably can’t be helped. Would come again.

Slow burner

Arrived at the villa very late due to a 3 hour flight delay but found it easily with owners directions. The bed felt damp the first night, it took a couple of nights of having the wood burner on till the villa aired out. At the start of the holiday we were glad we'd only booked 1 week but by the end we'd have happily stayed longer.

We bought Casa Kuito in 2003, spent two years renovating the villa and have been letting during the summer months since 2005, so we have lots of experience!

The villa is away from the hustle and bustle of the coast but easily accessible from the airport. The villa enjoys fabulous open views of the countryside and is well endowed with fascinating birdlife as well as the odd passing goat! We are not overlooked by other houses but are on a side road so it is easy to get places. The pool is large and entirely private. The beaches are only about 15 to 20 minutes away.

There is a bar and small shop in Azinheiro only about 10 mins walk and there are many more bars and restaurants in Estoi itself.

Kuito is named after a town in Angola in Southern Africa.
