In the most prestigious and sought after front line location on the entire Sao Rafael complex in the Algarve, this spacious and superbly furnished upper floor 2 bed apartment offers the shortest walk to 2 magnificent beaches and is one of the fewer to offer authentic south facing balcony views of beautiful cliff and sea vistas. The website has voted Sao Rafael as Portugal's best I beach & the 4th best in Europe. The environmental organisation Quercus has said that 15 of the Albufeira coast beaches, including Sao Rafael, have excellent water quality and Blue Flag status. Both beaches have superb restaurants and bars. The complex has a small supermarket within walking distance.

Apartment guests have close, unlimited access to a high class pool, and benefit from 10% discount on food, drinks, spa facilities, gym & spa treatments at the nearby Hotel Atlántico. The Albufeira marina with its many shops, cafes and bars, is within walking distance where an array of water sport activities are on offer and the charming old town of Albufeira is a few minutes drive away. Numerous great golf courses are also close to hand.

The recently redecorated apartment has a new modern bathroom, new mattresses and sofa bed plus unlimited Internet access with all major Sky & British TV channels including sports channels available. CD/Radio/MP3 player.

We have a fluent English speaking management team who will meet & greet you and be available for help if needed during your stay. They can arrange airport transfers and welcome baskets for you upon request.

Great apartment, well equipped and spacious.

The apartment is well equipped and spacious with lovely views of the immaculate gardens and the sea beyond and benefits from being south facing. The area is quiet with lovely walks but not suitable for someone who is unfit as the hills are quite steep and the terrain uneven. Local restaurants are very good and within five minutes drive. The property was very clean and beautifully decorated and maintained. The manager met us on arrival and was very helpful as was the book in the property. It was a perfect place to relax and unwind.

A lovely apartment in lovely surroundings

We had a fantastic time , the apartment was very clean and spacious with every need catered for . Angela the owner gave us the most comprehensive property guide we have every received in the 7 previous owners direct rentals. The apartment is within a easy walk of 2 lovely beaches and several restaurants nearby , we used local taxis to take us to Gale beach and into Albufeira for 6-8 euros , so a car is not necessary . The pool is safe for all ages and the pool bar was open for our holiday , we used Stork Taxis for airport transfers , we had a fantastic time and would highly recommend .

Fabulous apartment in a beautiful setting!

This was our first trip to Portugal and we found this apartment to be extremely good value for money, lovely location, clean, well maintained, and felt very welcoming. The pool was conveniently located and also well maintained. We would definitely recommend this to friends and family and hope to stay there again ourselves in future.

Great views, spacious, great location, perfect.

Thank you Angela for letting us stay in your apartment it was everything we'd hoped for and more. Easy to find from your instructions, very spacious, lovely sea view and beautiful beach within 5 mins walk. It provided everything we needed, handy to have a washing machine, borrow a book and have English tv, not that we watched it much because we really enjoyed sitting and sunbathing on the balcony and having a leisurely breakfast enjoying the view.

Family Memories are Priceless

We knew this was probably going to be our last family holiday with our 16 year old twins so we wanted something special. Our stay definitely was. The apartment was perfect. Spacious enough for all of us, spotlessly clean and not a bug in sight. Practically home from home and clearly well thought out. We wanted nothing and even I could operate the TV remote controls. The location and views are idyllic, a taxi ride into Albufeira was only 9 Euros and the town was busy but not overcrowded. The two nearby beaches are faultless and we spent a lovely day at the swimming pool. I was looking for perfection for my family when I booked this holiday, we got that and more. Thank you Angela

Car: recommended


Praia dos Arrifes is 3/4 minutes on foot, whilst the big beach is 6/8 minutes walk over the cliffs. Both beaches have sun loungers to hire, bar/restaurants and the big beach has a lifeguard. The small beach has a sheltered cove with rock pools to explore, whilst the big beach offers a good stretch of sand and is better for swimming. There are many other lovely beaches along the coast within a few minutes drive.


Sao Rafael is 33-40 minutes by car from Faro Airport. The journey is simple and direct. Car hire recommended, but not absolutely essential. Flying into Lisbon is possible with a journey time of about 3 hours by car, again the route is direct though there are road tolls.


Albufeira old town is 5 minutes by car with its great variety of shops, restaurants, celebrated street entertainment, plus the renowned Fisherman's beach. The east side of Albufeira with 'The Strip' has many shops, pubs, restaurants and nightclubs. The new Albufeira marina which opened in 2004 is about 25 minutes on foot and has a growing range of shops, restaurants and water activities. In addition to the beach restaurants there are several other restaurants & bars within a 20 minute walk.

Further Details:

The central Algarve has a huge variety of activites and items of special interest apart from the beach and golf. There is horse riding, diving, sailing, walking especially along the beautiful coastal cliffs and cycling. There is a small supermarket called "Tommy's" within walking distance plus 3 good sized supermarkets each 5-10 minutes by car, with banks, post office & pharmacies in Albufeira. "Algarve Shopping" with a hypermarket, cinema, bowling alley, numerous shops & restaurants is 15-20 minutes by car.

There are several restaurants & bars within walking distance of the apartment including a Chinese restaurant & The City Bar next to "Tommy's". The bar has a pool table, Internet access & widescreen Sky TV.
