BYCAR Studio C

There is an entrance cabin that serves as a hall during the day and bedroom at night. This has twin superimposed bunk beds. It has doors to the bathroom with shower over the bath, and to a separate toilet; and a connecting door to the lounge.

The lounge is a little wider than our other apartments. It has a convertible double sofa bed set into a surrounding cupboard unit. Thus, it also serves as the second bedroom. It has french windows to a south facing patio. It is well equipped including digital TV with USB and HDMI slots, DVD, radio and CD and WIFI.

In one corner there is a kitchenette with fridge, microwave oven/grill, and two hotplates; a large passe-plat preparation counter and comprehensive selection of utensils.

We have four ground-floor holiday apartments in a quiet site between pine woods alpine meadows and ski lifts near Combloux village. They are cosy in winter, and sensibly laid out with plenty of storage space (for floor plan, see image above). Quality accommodation at low cost for family holidays. The apartments are adjacent, which is perfect for families and friends to holiday together but choose when to eat, sleep, watch a DVD, shower, or chill out. They are equipped with British families in mind. There is 24hr key access and beds are made up ready for arrivals.(Hint: read reviews for each unit)

The apartments have electric radiators and their own immersion heaters (hot water when YOU want it).

Combloux is an unspoilt traditional Savoie village, not frequented by the UK tour companies but it was one of the first ski resorts established in France due to its good snow record, magnificent views of Mont Blanc and excellent central position. It is only 8 miles from the autoroute to Calais or Geneva.

We use this site to control bookings so availability is correct and you can "book now". If you do, you give card details but no payment is taken unless we confirm within 24 hours. You would then pay half price, the remainder together with £100 security deposit is due 30 days before your holiday. If you "query now" we are happy to answer questions and hold a firm option so that you can confirm travel before committing. About The Owner

We bought the apartments in 1991 for our own family holidays and have been letting ever since.

We wanted to holiday with friends but not dictate what they did and when, so we started with two small apartments instead of one large one. We enjoy meeting and skiing with newcomers and helping them to enjoy family holidays.

We created one of the first booking websites and have introduced hundreds of UK families to this beautiful village. Many are regular visitors and several have bought their own apartments.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 1991

Why The Owner chose St. Gervais - Megeve area

Combloux is about the most accessible ski resort by car from Calais or Geneva and centrally located with good road access to a dozen nearby resorts. Parking is plentiful and generally free.

This is an area of outstanding natural beauty which has escaped the large scale developments that would put it on the beaten track for commercial holidays. It is perfectly placed for the best views of Mont Blanc. In winter there is a huge connected area of skiing to satisfy all levels of ability.

In summer, compared with Scotland we found the scenery more spectacular and not plagued with midges. The mountain air, friendly people, walking and just being there is fantastic. Compared with Cornwall we found there was more to do outdoors and the weather was far better. Nice beaches too!

Excellent value, close to the piste with everything you need

We were two adults staying march 2016 - we really enjoyed our stay here. The apartment was clean, tidy and functional with great wi-fi, parking and everything you need for a ski holiday. Apartment is in a fantastic spot - its 10mins walk from the mowgli ski lift in combloux, only 10-15 mins drive from megeve centre and it took only about 1 hour and 15 mins from geneva airport and mainly on main roads so very easy to access. Having a car definitely helped getting around and in between the villages. When skiing we ended up parking for free in demi quarter and using ski lift there rather than going into megeve. Owners were also fantastic - emailed before to make sure there were no problems and have a really informative website. Would definitely stay here again if we came back to the area - thanks for a great stay!!

Absolute Gem of a place

I came across these apartments 15 years ago when I first took my daughter skiing, I never repeat holidays but I've come back most winters since with a wide variety of mates and family. Combloux is a superb family ski place and the owners have it literally all worked out for you. All ski apartments are much the same but the extra touches and flexibility along with great location keep drawing me back. This year the wifi was a great addition- sufficient for Netflix use.

Owner's Response: Thanks anon (we recognise you or course). As you say, we do try to keep improving all bycar apartments for our regular visitors. WIFI reception can be poor in the mountain and shared between owners so we put in our own modems to make it as good as possible. High cost approach but nice to know it is appreciated.
