Apartment in Alvor, Algarve, Portugal - 3 Mins Walk From Beach, Onsite Pools, Restaurants & Spa

The mature Prainha complex lies just outside Alvor, a fishing village, with many restaurants & bars. Apartments are limited to 2 storeys, separated by cobbled alleyways, squares and well-tended lawns. Property is on the upper floor with a twin bedroom (with air conditioning), a spacious living/dining room with 2 large sofas, memory foam mattresses for children, a bathroom and a new, well-equipped kitchen. Unlimited WiFi, UK Freeview TV together with some European cable channels. The large, very private roof terrace overlooks the sea and catches the sun all day long. The beach is a few mins walk away and we supply 2 x beach towels. The sandy beaches sweep round to below Prainha where high cliffs give spectacular views. A lift for residents allows travel down to the beach and the Il Canico restaurant & bar (one of 3 on site) which overlooks the beach. There is a cliff top pool with a bar and restaurant, hotel pool with bar and restaurant, and supermarket on site. The hotel has a health & beauty spa which includes an indoor pool. The hotel can arrange activities such as golf at the nearby Alto Club, tennis on site, or cycle & car hire. The property has a Portuguese rental licence. 48613/AL

We bought in Prainha because it is very well maintained. Being one of the first complexes on the Algarve it now has very mature trees and gardens, plenty of open spaces and established quality restaurants. The cliff top pool is stunning and Prainha has one of the finest beaches we have ever seen just a short stroll away.

What makes this apartment unique

Our apartment is on the edge of the complex, which means it's quieter. The terrace is so private that you can get an all over tan! We love to eat on the terrace in the evening and look over the sea. You can view details of all that is on offer on the complex website http://www.prainha.net/aldeamento-prainha.html We have unlimited free WiFi in the apartment, the main UK freeview channels on the flat screen TV together with some European cable channels. There is a DVD player and a notebook pc for guests use.

Notes on accommodation: There is a travel cot with sheets and baby blankets. We provide bath towels and two beach towels. Outside: A short 3-4 minute walk to the beach. 4 restaurants on site together with supermarket. A health spa in the main hotel has an indoor pool, jacuzzi, steam and sauna rooms, gym & exercise classes. There are two outdoor pools, one on the cliff top and one by the hotel. Tennis courts available to hire, rackets and balls are in the apartment. There is WiFi Internet access in the apartment as well as at the hotel with a printer. You can hire bicycles from the reception. Cleaning / Towels / Linen: Towels & linen are included and are changed once a week when the apartment is cleaned. Additional cleaning can be arranged as often as required. Other: Large rooftop terrace has a table & seating, sun loungers and umbrellas.

Hidden gem

Have been holidaying in Alvor for several years now and this fantastic apartment was a lucky find. Located in Prainha village at corner nearest the beach, apartment is spotless clean, a very spacious main living room area and fully equipped open plan kitchen, bedroom with plenty of wardrobe space is also big (actually the size of other hotel rooms in Alvor). Balcony also off living room and to top it all off the private roof terrace is just fantastic, built in seating and table in corner and 2 sun loungers, unrestricted views of the sea peacefully quite and private. Fresh bed linen, bath and lounger towels changed half way through stay.

Owners have put alot of time and effort into making this apartment a welcome stay with WiFi, TV with some UK channels and other nice touches like a welcome folder with info about area and extras like binoculars to use. Beach is a 5 minute stroll down the hill which has 5 or 6 restaurants at that end, Atlantida and Tropico were our personal favourites food, service and prices all fantastic.

In all a fantastic apartment in great location. We arrived home on the Thursday and re-booked this apartment on the Friday for the following year.

This was our first time to Portugal, so we were a little apprehensive and also our first holiday abroad in 5 years, so our expectations were high. We were not disappointed, we loved everything about our stay.The apartment and its positioning were perfect !

Lovely spacious apartment great view of the ocean

We stayed here in September. First impression it's very comfortable and spacious . Just a short walk to beach pool and supermarket. Apartment has a large roof terrace with sun loungers and eating space with a great view. Would definitely consider staying there again.

Perfect Algarve holiday

The stunning area of Alvor is one of the best in the area. The villa is clean, comfortable and well equipped with good beaches and amazing pool. Definitely recommend, efficient communication with owners and have been twice already!

Stunning ocean view from the roof-terrace and unbelievable beach.

We spent a wonderful two weeks in this lovely apartment located in the Prainha complex just two kilometers away from Alvor. The apartment is located at the side of the holiday village very near to the pathways leading to the beach. There is a large living room connected with a kitchen and a bedroom with air-conditioning. Every necessary amenities are provided, kitchen is well equipped, there are some books, sat-tv and so on. There is a small balcony by the living room with an ocean view. Additionally to the apartment there is a roof-terrace with a really stunning view on the ocean and the Prainha village. There are three swimming pools in the village area within the walking distance of max. 5 minutes. Two restaurants in the village itself and many, many more in Alvor. We’ve been walking to Alvor along a beach (about 2km), but one can take a bus or a taxi (very reasonable prices). Apartment was very clean, bed linings and towels were changed together with a cleaning after one week.

Coast/Beach:

The sandy beach stretches from Alvor around to Prainha where high sandstone cliffs produce several coves. There are many bars and restaurants on the beaches.

Travel:

The new motorway now extends from Faro to beyond Alvor so travel from the airport takes less than an hour.

Distances:

It is 3-4 minutes to Alvor in a car, if walking it will take 20 mins either on the road or along the beach. Praia da Rocha is more lively and is a 10 minute drive. Lagos the main town of the Western Algarve is an 30 mins drive.
