Our apartment - number 469 is a ground floor fully air conditioned 2 bed, 2 bath apartment with free WiFi in Balaia Golf Village. 10 minute walk to beach. The gardens of the village are beautifully landscaped with mature pine and cork oak trees.There are 6 swimming pools to choose from. 4 tennis courts, croquet, table tennis and bowling green. A Health Club with indoor pool, gym etc and Restaurant with bar are all close to the apartment, as is the Reception. Balaia's own 9 hole par 3 golf course is ideal for practising your short game and has a lovely clubhouse with bar and restaurant. In the summer there is a Kid's Club - bookable and payable at Reception. A small supermarket is just around the corner and several local restaurants are within walking distance. Championship golf courses all along the Algarve are easily reached by car.

Two sandy beaches are within walking distance. The apartment is at the end of the village that is closest to the beaches. The nearest one, Maria Luisa, is approx. 400m away (about 10 minutes walk) with a beach bar/restaurant. Sun beds and shades and pedalos etc for hire in summer. There are of course plenty of other beaches within easy driving distance.


Faro airport is approx. 30 minutes away. I can book transfers for you through Balaia. Lisbon airport is 2.5 - 3 hours away on the motorway. Car hire is not essential - buses go to Albufeira or taxis to the centre cost about 6 Euros and can be ordered through reception. Various waterparks such as Aqualand, Slide & Splash and Zoomarine run their own coach services - again book through reception.

Further Details:

There is on site management and an excellent English speaking 24 hour Reception where you can change money, book taxis or airport transfers and book for local attractions and excursions. Computers are available here for internet access or WiFi is available in the apartment if you have your own laptop - a small charge is payable to Reception. They can also arrange storage of luggage if you arrive before the apartment is ready or do not need to depart until later as Check in is at 4pm and Check out by 12 noon. Earlier or later may be possible if apartment is not occupied immediately beforehand or afterwards, but cannot be guaranteed.

There is a row of small shops close to the apartment which comprise a supermarket, newsagent, gift shop, hairdressers and beauty salon. The supermarket stocks just about everything you need including fresh bread. There is a larger supermarket down the road towards Olhos d'Agua which is easier for parking and closer than those in Albufeira.

Albufeira has a small shopping mall but there is a much larger one (Algarve Shopping) with many shops, hypermarket and multi screen cinema not far away at Guia.

Balaia Golf Village has its own restaurant (La Veranda) close to the apartment next to reception overlooking one of the pools and another restaurant at the Golf Clubhouse. In addition there are a number of other restaurants within walking distance and many others reachable by car or taxi in Albufeira or Olhos d'Agua. Livelier nightlife can be found in Albufeira either in the Old Town or on 'The Strip'.

Notes on accommodation: Air conditioning has been installed with the units also used for heating in the winter. Fans are also available. A cot, highchair and fold up bed can be requested for an extra daily charge. DVDs, books, buckets and spades, beach toys, cool box and beach umbrella are all available for your use. Free WiFi is available in the apartment - bring your own laptop. Please do not smoke in the apartment, however ashtrays are provided if you wish to smoke on the terraces. Outside: The apartment (No.469) is close to the Reception, Restaurant and Main Entrance of Balaia. It is approx 50m from the nearest swimming pool, which is surrounded by luxuriant gardens with mature pine and cork oak trees giving plenty of shade if required. There are 6 outdoor pools in total, two of which have poolside bars. Sun loungers are freely available to use around the pools. In addition there is an indoor pool within the Health Club, which also has a fully equipped Gym, steam room and jacuzzi, a similar distance away, although there is an extra charge payable locally to use this. 4 Tennis courts, Croquet, Table Tennis and 9 hole par 3 Golf Course - all payable locally. Easy walking distance of the beach and several typical Portuguese restaurants. Utility Room: Washing machine, tumble drier, clothes airer, iron & ironing board. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Bed linen and towels are provided. Please take your own beach towels. For stays of two weeks or more maid service and linen change at the end of each week. Additional maid service or linen change can be arranged locally for an extra charge. Other: Terrace with table, chairs, parasol and sun loungers.

Very good apartment ,ideally situated near main entrance and reception area. (still very peaceful)The apartment was spotlessly clean and had every thing we needed and more.We spent 15 days here 2 adults and 3 children ,plenty space storage ect..and was very nicely decorated.

Complex is fab.. beautifully maintained to a high standard,we loved it will differently return.I would highly recommend for all ages !

£100 security deposit payable with balance - refunded within 2 weeks of departure.

Changeover Day:
Preferably Saturday or Sunday in July and August or on days to coincide with existing bookings - see availability calendar. Other days are possible outside high season.

Prices are for the apartment per week payable in UK Pounds or alternatively in Euros direct to our Portuguese bank account. Prices include linen, towels, water, electricity and cleaning after departure. For stays of 2 or more weeks an apartment clean and change of towels and linen at the end of each week is included
Rentals crossing price bands will be priced pro rata.
Short breaks also available outside high season.

Payment may be made by bank transfer in either Pounds or Euros or by sterling cheque. 20% deposit payable on booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before your stay.
