Just 20 mins from Faro airport, Dunas Douradas is an upmarket, luxury development, situated by the beach between Val do Lobo and Quinta do Lago and lies in some 76 acres of African pine trees. It is a safe, family-friendly resort with a Roman communal pool and a childrens pool. There is a pool-bar serving all-day food and drinks, which is a focal point for late afternoon socialising. It has its own reception area, where the friendly staff will help you with any queries and will help you anything from booking tours and discount golf to recommending one of the many excellent restaurants in the area. There are two tennis courts with a resident pro for lessons for all ages. For your peace o mind, the resort is guarded by security patrols.

Warm, homely, immacuate

This felt like a home from home - everything in it is of the highest standard. The quality of the décor and the taste is wonderful. It has everything you need and more. It is incredibly clean, very comfortable and we cannot recommend it enough. It is a home to relax and have fun it at the same time. We are already booked to return.

All 6 adults in our party were very impressed by the high quality of all facilities in the villa

We had an excellent holiday at the villa, it was superbly well equipped and we had everything we needed. It was like home from home!

Everything was spotlessly clean and we were very well looked after by the management company and the owners.

Only a short walk to the beach and a few restaurants.

We would certainly return!

Brilliant location

Lovely clean villa in a great location. We had a wonderful week there with the children. John was so helpful with all the arrangements and the managing company were equally brilliant and provided a wealth of information.

Lovely villa, excellent location, highly recommended

We stayed in this villa for a week in July 2016 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The pool was clean and maintained during our stay and the villa is comfortable and has everything you could need including a well equipped modern kitchen, gas bbq, plenty of chairs and loungers, balcony and roof terrace. It's a short walk to the gorgeous beach and Maria's restaurant and a further walk along the beach to more restaurants and bars in either direction (Julia's, Izzy's and the Praca). Apart from a tiny shop at the communal pool the nearest good supermarket is about 30 minutes walk up to the entrance of Val de lobo (once you find the short cuts) so a car may be needed if you have small children, or if you want to venture further afield for restaurants or supermarkets in Almancil. For a one week stay we didn't find it necessary and cabs or car service are available if you need them. John the owner gave lots of good advice and recommendations and we particularly liked Maria's, Parilla and Marufo's. We would definitely stay here again!

Very nice family villa

Everything required was available in the villa. Very nice sun area beside pool where we enjoyed rest and relaxation. Villa very well located and walking distance from beach and clubhouse I would recommend as a great location and property.

Home from home

Great villa in a lovely location. Walking distance to the beach and several nice restaurants. Maria's in particular.

This villa has every amenity you could possibly wish for. The large double bedrooms and bathrooms were spotlessly clean as was the swimming pool.

John the owner was extremely helpful and made sure our holiday was perfect.

We would definitely book this villa again.

Coast/Beach:

There are 10km of wonderful sandy beaches which are less than 10 minutes stroll or 2 minutes drive away. There are numerous beach restaurants and also sun loungers and umbrellas available on the beach during the summer

For those who enjoy it, water sports are available from Anção beach with sailing and canoeing available on the lake at Quinta do Lago

Travel:

Faro is the nearest airport and can be reached in 20 mins by car. We would advise that car hire is recommended although the local taxis are excellent value.

Distances:

The nearest supermarket is at Vale do Lobo a short drive away. There are several restaurants and a variety of shops (including designer shopping) at Quinta Shopping 5 mins drive from the villa. The nearest town, Almancil, is 10 mins drive. The whole area is served by numerous excellent restaurants. There is a large shopping mall in Faro Forum open until midnight.

Further Details:

Besides the beach and watersports the villa makes an excellent base for golf, tennis, horse-riding, bird-watching, and walking. There is also a Karting track and 2 waterslide parks within 15 mins drive.

The south facing sun drenched patio has a kidney shaped plunge pool, four sun loungers with mattresses and umbrellas. Gas fired 'Aussie' barbecue and a large hardwood table with 6 chairs. On the balcony which leads from the master and no 3 bedrooms, there is a table, 4 chairs and an umbrella . There is a roof terrace sundeck on the roof for secluded sunbathing with two loungers with matresses and an umberella. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Towels linen and Beach towels are all included and changed weekly and maid service is twice a week. Other: Spacious roof terrace affording stunning views of the countryside and views to the sea.
