Apartment in Old Town in Albufeira, Central Algarve - Quiet Location Set In Old Town 5 Minutes Walk To Beach

From the poolside you overlook the tiny whitewashed houses with terracotta roofs along the cobbled streets. Just a few minutes away are the restaurants and small shops that the old town has to offer. Whether you want to just relax at the poolside or at the beach, Varandas Do Mar apartment is just what you are looking for. The old town is also near golf courses for those of you wanting exercise. This apartment is ideal for families or couples looking for quiet and relaxing holiday with maybe a round of golf.

Well proportioned apartment less than five to the escalators that lead down to fishermens beach. Holiday with the grandkids 8 & 10 who appeared to find the bunk beds in the second bedroom comfortable. Having the washing machine was a godsend as we did not have to bring so many clothes. All enjoyed the on site swimming pool and had no problem obtaining sunned. Pool and balcony overlooked the beach and the old town. Thought the apartment was extremely good value. The only negative of staying in the old town was noise of revellers going home in the early hours of the morning, we love having the patio doors open through the night.

myself , my husband and 3 kids stayed for 8 days, clean spacious apt, beautiful views, and so close to the old town, lovely clean spacious pool area too. hope to be back next year!!

Activity and Interests

Nearest Beach : fishermans beach at 500 Metres Car: necessary


You are just 5 minutes walk from the lovely sandy beach, which also offers some good boat rides from full day trips to just 1 hour.


You will fly into Faro airport which is about 30 mins drive from the apartment. There are taxis right outside the airport. We do not think you need a car because everything is right on your door step.


Faro is the capital of the Algarve, with good shopping, a picturesque little harbour, a museum and a lovely park by the waterfront.

Loule is an inland market town where on Saturdays local farmers gather to sell fruit and vegetables. Just about everything possible can be bought at this market. Well worth a visit but it is about 20 mins drive.

Silves is about 20 minutes drive, it is dominated by a large castle and overlooks countryside full of oranges and lemons.

Further Details:

Portimao is one of the largest shopping centres in the Algarve and is about 30 minutes drive away, however there are goods shops and restaurants in Albufeira and plenty of supermarkets in walking distance. There are two water parks closeby 'Slide and Splash' and 'Aqualand'. We can recommend both of these parks whether you have children or not. You are also close to Zoomarine, again a good day out.
