Casa Figueiral is set in grounds of 3 acres with landscaped garden, lawn and car port. The house nestles in the centre of a fig orchard, with panoramic views of the sea and around to the Monchique mountains. The 11 x 5m heated swimming pool is surrounded by large terraces and includes a barbecue, exterior shower and pergola. Only 2km from the sea and the fishing village of Armacao de Pera with its lovely mile long sandy beaches.

About Patricia Mogford

We have lived in Ascot for 23 years now and our careers started in the family hotel and catering business based in Egham, Windsor and Sonning on Thames. After the sale of the hotel business we ventured into the Landscape Industry and our company is based in Surrey. Our children have now left the nest, but remain within a short distance of the family home.

Why Patricia Mogford chose Armação de Pêra

With busy careers and young children we decided we needed a holiday home easily accessible by air and chose Portugal after visiting a few European countries. We knew after a couple of days visiting the Algarve that this was the place for us and in 1986 purchased the land and went on to develop a three bedroom villa and pool which was completed in 1987. The whole family still continue to visit Portugal each year as we are drawn by the friendliness of the Portuguese people, the lovely climate and the beautiful countryside and coastline. As the children grew up, we soon found that the accommodation was being stretched and we needed to extend the villa by an extra bedroom and bathroom. In 2007, we had the opportunity to buy the neighbouring house called Casa das Vinhas which is only 100 metres from Casa Figueiral and where have developed a small 300 plant vineyard as hobby.

What makes this villa unique

The land we acquired was originally a Fig Orchard and hence the name Casa Figueiral. Situated on a hill behind the town of Armacao de Pera, it provides us with stunning views of the mountains in the North and around to the countryside and to the coastline in the South, 2 kms away. We have some wonderful views from our terraces and pool area and the rural surroundings provide us with a very peaceful and relaxing setting.

We love this villa, the rural setting belies the fact it is only 10 mins by car to beautiful beaches, villages, restaurants, fantastic Golf courses, water parks and Zoo Marine. The villa is wonderful and the main rooms and bedrooms are set out in such a way to give us some personal space. The gem is the large heated pool, all very private with panoramic views. Piedade is on hand to make your stay trouble free. We have just returned from another month at Figueiral and already have booked for next year, which says it all.

Garden area has a large lawn with many Carob, Fig and Almond trees in and around the boundaries. Total of 3 acres. Utility Room: Washing machine located in small utility room. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Maid Service provided 5 days per week. Linen and towels changed on a weekly basis. Beach towels also provided for pool use. Other: Large terrace adjoining the Master bedroom. All bedrooms equipped with electric fans and electric radiators for winter use.

A little piece of paradise at Easter!

We have been visiting this fantastic villa for over 20 years!! It always serves as a pick-me-up and this year was no exception. The villa is beautiful with marvellous views, a heated pool and lovely grounds. Everything you could possibly want or need is supplied including the loveliest "maid" Piadade who quickly becomes a firm friend. The villa and facilities are always being updated and are kept in top condition. It's within walking distance of the town and marshes if you want a longer walk. Plenty of wild flowers and wonderful variety of birds to see. Makes a great base to go out and see the rest of the Algarve and region. Lots of excellent places to eat in the area covering all tastes and budgets. All in all, can't recommend it enough!!!!!

Superb villa!

This is a beautiful villa set in the countryside with excellent views over its large heated pool. It has loads of space and has all the equipment you would expect. The BBQ area is shaded and we had many meals fresh from the fire, delicious! Piadade (our housekeeper) was very friendly and willing to go the extra mile to help. We would certainly recommend this to anyone and will be going again ourselves!

Changeover Day:
We operate a Saturday to Saturday changeover day, however during the winter months these days can be more flexible to coincide with flight availability. Arrival at the villa is available from midday and departure requested at 10.30am on final day.
We do not allow Events or Parties at this villa.
