Superb village accommodation

  • 5 of 5

La Paz was really comfortable, well-furnished and attractive accommodation. It has the best-equipped holiday kitchen we've ever seen! We used the garden and balcony almost every day - fabulous views across to the mountains. The house is also well-stocked with CDs, DVDs and books including a good selection of useful walking guides and maps.

La Paz is just a few minutes from the village shops and bars - just perfect!

Fornalutx is a really beautiful village and for keen walkers it is an excellent location. We can particularly recommend the walk up the Barranco between Biniaraix and Cuber reservoir. So good we did it twice!

We were really sorry to leave and are already thinking of a return visit.

Cozy central but quiet property with beautiful outside spaces

  • 4 of 5

This is a cozy well equipped and central village location property that has two wonderful outdoor spaces one being a small terrace off the bedroom the other being a pretty garden with space for two sun beds.

Despite being just a couple of minutes walk away from the village we found the property to be generally quiet apart from when the families in the adjacent villa were playing in the pool ( but that's what children do on holiday play.)

Although the local supermarket is only in the village a small welcome pack of essentials would have been very....welcome. We have stayed in several properties in the village most of who left at least some oranges, water tea etc. a nice touch if you have had a long journey or arrive late.

There is a steep set of steps leading down from the bedroom and living room to the bathroom and then more steps down from there to the kitchen just something to bear in mind should you have mobility problems.

We found Wendy easy and very helpful to deal with.

An interesting and quirky house in the middle of a beautiful village.

  • 4 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay. The house is arranged on three levels despite its modest size. It has a balcony and a terrace which are lovely. You are cheek by jowl with neighbours and their pool though and there can be a lot of village racket. But the house is well stocked with books, games, CD players and DVDs and also lots of objets d'arts. The village has lovely streets , good shops, and a variety of restaurants. We did some good walks. We loved Deia and Robert Graves house. Soller is pretty and we loved the tram ride to the beach.

A lovely house in a fantastic location

  • 4 of 5

We have just returned from a 9-day stay at this lovely house in the centre of the village which is a 5 minute walk from the bakery, main square (3 bars) and Spar (the only grocery shop in Fornalutx but has what you need for a short stay). The house was clean, nicely decorated, and comfortable. The main entrance opens directly into the sitting room and across a short landing into the bedroom. There is a lovely balcony off the bedroom which gets the sun in the evening. You then go down a flight of wooden stairs to the bathroom and the garden, and down another flight of stairs to the dining room, and a few more stairs into the kitchen. Watch your head if you're tall - my husband clunked his head on the kitchen beam and the doorway into the sitting room on several occasions - but it's an old house so to be expected. The garden is a real sun-trap, and we enjoyed a couple of suppers outside on the terrace which is nicely lit at night. We were pleasantly surprised to find it was warm enough to do so in late April. We didn't bother with a car for such a short visit. We could either walk to Soller (the path goes directly from the front door) and is lovely as it meanders through the orange groves, and is all downhill. From there we were able to pick up a bus (to Deia), or get the train from there to Palma. There are buses from the village (1 morning, lunch-time and early evening) but not on Sundays or Public Holidays. The small gallery in Soller was a treat, and the day we went to visit Robert Graves' house in Deia we were the only people there! The walking is lovely here and we were lucky to have very good weather so had some spectacular hikes into the Mountains and a rather lovely, less strenuous one, into the hills around the back of Soller Port. It was our first introduction to Mallorca and we enjoyed it very much. Having travelled around Spain for many years, I am not sure it is the 'real Spain' as someone wrote in the visitor's book as it is quite touristy and everyone speaks English which is not the case with many of the small mountain villages we've stayed in over the years where we've been compelled to speak Spanish (no bad thing), but nevertheless, it has enormous charm and I would recommend both the house and the location, which is spectacular. Wendy was very easy to deal with, and prompt in answering any queries. All in all, a lovely holiday and many thanks to Wendy for the use of her lovely house.

Wonderful character cottage in Fornalutx.

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous stay at Wendy's place. It was a comfortable home from home.

So glad that supplies were left for us and that we didn't have to rush out for everything but the kitchen sink.

Wonderful books to read and lots of information about the area.

A great stay.

Pam and Philip.

Lovely traditional village house

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay in this traditional village house. Fornalutx is a lovely old village with beautiful stone houses and several local restaurants within walking distance. We enjoyed our walk down to Soller through the orange and olive groves and then the old tram down to Port Soller. Very relaxing break - we'll be back to do some more walking.
