RELAX & UNWIND in my DETACHED 'LANZAROTE PARADISE' with Three Bedrooms and Two Shower Rooms with wc's.

My well maintained and secure Villa has been my holiday home for over 13 years and has everything you could wish for to make your holiday as relaxing and hassle-free as possible.

Throughout my ownership, the villa has been the subject of ongoing improvements, to enhance the welcoming 'Home from Home' atmosphere where regular clients and friends return to year after year to enjoy spotting the differences.

It is ideal for SUN WORSHIPPERS who enjoy nothing more than relaxing in privacy soaking up the ambiance by the pool in the fully walled garden.

The 8 x 3m swimming pool is 1.5m at deepest point & has Roman steps at one end. It has underwater lighting that looks fantastic at night and adds another dimension to the floodlit garden. It is surrounded by luxury artificial grass, thus being safe for young children and adults alike. The pool can be electrically heated (upon request at an extra cost) in addition to the solar heating during any month of the year, but would recommend it from October - April to maintain a daytime water temperature of circa 27/30 degrees (subject to weather conditions!) and providing it is covered by the solar blanket cover at night.

Covered terrace for outside dining and relaxing overlooks pretty planted West facing garden leaving time to enjoy the all-day sun and enabling you to gain an all-over tan away, should you so wish!.

COMPLIMENTARY NO COSTS EXTRA include WIFI & BBC & ITV & other channels & high chair use. Included beach/sunbathing towels provided for your use during your stay.

My villa is very well looked after by my experienced English managers who help ensure that everyone has a thoroughly enjoyable and trouble-free holiday. They leave a small welcome pack which includes water, milk, tea, coffee, sugar & biscuits. My managers will call in a day or so later to ensure that all is well and to provide help and guidance with resort amenities, etc

Las Coloradas is situated at the Southern end of the Island enjoying the best climate and adjacent to the Stunning & Secluded Fine Sandy Beaches of Papagayo which has National Park status. Five minute walk from the villa is El Pueblo shopping centre is (NEWLY OPENED JULY'16 - Hiper DIno Express) with providing a good selection of food and much more. Other local cafes/bar provides a variety of drinks, snacks and ice creams etc. You can join in the SEGWAY EXPERIENCE a unique adventure taking in breathtakingly scenery & the charm of Papagayo beaches whilst riding a Segway & enjoy Lanzarote’s volcanic landscape in a fun, easy & eco-friendly way – booking at El Pueblo.

CASA CARLOS restaurant – Well worth the visit and no need to drive approx 10 mins walk from villa providing excellent food with Carlos & team ensuring you have a great meal. You can also order homemade take away stone baked pizzas.

EL LAGER de BACO - Tapas & Pintxos with art gallery (Opened March'16) - El Pueblo Las Coloradas - good tapas and great selection of wines and beers etc.

A 5 minute or so drive away (or 15-20 minute walk along the Coastal path) is the Beautiful Rubicon Marina with a large number of yachts and boats in this lovely marina. Variety of shops and duty free shopping; A mixture of restaurants and bars to while away the day or evening in a picturesque setting. Local market takes place twice a week on Wednesdays & Saturdays.

BEACHES:You can walk to the first Papagayo beach in about 15 mins or Dorada Beach 15 Mins in the car.There is also a small black beach only 8-10 mins walk away from my villa & very quiet if you don't fancy the beautiful Papagayo sandy beaches, To find the small beach just walk past shopping complex and keep going you can't miss it, it's at the start of the coastal path which is a beautiful walk that goes all the way to Playa Blanca and beyond passing Marina Rubicon

THE ISLAND: Lanzarote is a fascinating island where man and nature have created some spectacular places to visit, there are excellent roads to all parts of the island and a hire car will enable you to have an easier trip to and from the airport, as well as to discover areas that you should consider visiting.

There is a manual of information in the villa that lists the main attractions together with other recommendations for places to eat and visit etc. For the GOLFERS there are two on the Island one at Costa Teguise (45 minutes away) or Puerto del Carmen (25 minutes away). You can book boat trips at the local marinas (Rubicon, Playa Blanca Port or Puerto Calero) along with glass bottom boats and submarine experience. You can catch the fast ferry (20 minutes) across to Fuerteventura from Playa Blanca port. There are a couple of Aqua parks on the Island at Playa Blanca and at Costa Teguise.

The climate, its beaches and the ever present stamp of artist Cesar Manrique make this a privileged destination. Playa Blanca is an ideal location for those people wanting a quieter holiday, but if you crave for a lively night-life, Puerto del Carmen with a selection of lively bars and nightclubs, restaurants & shops is a short drive away or the local bus service is very reliable and reasonable.

At the old capital of Teguise is the famous Sunday market to spend a few of your Euros; Camel rides; Go karting; Sand buggies and cooking your lunch over the heat of the volcano at Fire Mountain in the Timafaya National Park is only a brief selection of what is on offer for you in Lanzarote.

CAR HIRE: Car hire is recommended to enable you to see what the whole of the Island has to offer at your own pace – ranging from the greener part of the Island in the North with some lovely natural white beaches for sunbathing and surfing.

The vineyard region is in La Geria where you can visit various vineyards and be in a lovely place for a spot of lunch with the odd glass of wine or two. Volcanic landscapes, Fire Mountain with its heat or the underground lakes and caves with the “blind white crabs” are all worth a visit, if sunbathing and relaxing has got too much for you!. Don’t forget your camera.

My villa is situated on the edge of a quiet residential area where owners and their guest enjoy high levels of privacy and peace and quiet. I therefore, expect my guests to respect the surroundings and enjoy the community spirit.

This location is not suitable for lively young people or adults looking for a party environment for their holiday. There are many other locations on the Island where this is provided in Puerto del Carmen or Costa Teguise.

Whilst I welcome children, those old enough to occupy a bed of their own, as classified as adults, when accessing the rental calculation for occupancy. A cot can be provided with only a nominal bedding charge.

About CATHERINE

I first visited Lanza in my early twenties on Doctors orders! The rest and warmth helped me recover quicker than suffering the English winter. I then returned with my young son and friends 10 years or so later and it was then that I realised that I had the "Lanzarote Bug" and started returning at least once year or more and then finally decided to buy.

I lead a very busy business life on the West Sussex Coast in residential property lettings and new home sales. My son is now 19 and should hopefully give me more time to spend at Casa Cat, when friends and guests are not enjoying it.

Everyone who has stayed there has said what a relaxing Home from Home I have created, which gives me a warm glow as this is what I set out to achieve when I purchased. I have continually updated the interior and exterior to enhance the welcoming atmosphere. I set out to enjoy privacy, seclusion and shelter from the prevailing winds in the garden and pool.

Why CATHERINE chose Playa Blanca - Yaiza

Location was the key to this property being close to Papagaygo beaches, walking distance to the Rubicon Marina with its yachts and restaurants. I saw the potential in improving the villa to how I wanted it to be as my second home. Hardly a year goes by without further improvements and changes taking place, keeping regular visitors, family and friends "amused" by spotting the differences!

What makes this villa unique

It is still a little known fact that Lanzarote enjoys at least 2 hours of additional daylight for most of the year, compared with the UK. You can sit in my garden in December or January at 6 pm and the sun is yet to set, whereas back in the UK it is dark at 3.30 pm and still 20 degrees or more in Lanzarote!

Casa Carlos serves up an array of different dishes (closed Tuesdays) and is well worth a number of visits. However, the finest restaurant on the Island is La Cocina De Colocho - open only Mondays & Wednesdays is it fine dining at its best.

Our weater was superb somedays reaching 25/26 degrees.

There is no doubt we will return in the future.

Excellent holiday home in an ideal location.

We have just spent a month at Casa Cat and had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. The house is in a lovely, quiet part of Playa Blanca and is very private. To walk to Marina Rubicon and further into town, there is a good pedestrian walkway along the sea front. Alternatively, there is a convenient bus service nearby. There are supermarkets and many restaurants if you prefer to eat out.

The house is well appointed, spotless and very comfortable with all the facilities you would need on holiday. The outdoor area is excellent. The good-sized pool is lovely and is well-maintained, and the sitting and eating areas are very well thought out. We loved having our drinks and meals outside, enjoying the ambiance. Wi-fi access is first-class - reliable, with a good range inside and outside.

Having a change of bed linen and towels on a weekly basis was a real treat. Cerys and Paul who manage the property are delightful, and give you confidence that if anything does go wrong (which it didn't when we were there), they would not hesitate to sort it out immediately.

All in all, we would recommend this property to others, and would happily return for another holiday in the future.

Home from home in the sun

Thoroughly enjoyed our week at Casa Cat. The garden and (heated) pool are great, the walls provide privacy as well as keeping the wind to a minimum. The villa had everything we needed and was comfortable and clean. The location is nice and quiet but has shops and at least one restaurant very close while the Marina is just a 30 minute stroll away. Would certainly recommend to friends and will, hopefully, return at some point.

Lovely villa, perfect location.

We spent a week in Casa Cat on a recommendation from our friends. It was our first time away with our baby daughter and it was the perfect place to stay. It was lovely and quiet but still walking distance to shops and restaurants. Our daughter loved crawling around the gardens and we loved the pool and BBQ. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Beautiful private garden

The villa is as described by the owner. A lovely villa, in a quite area of Las Colorados. The garden and swimming pool was beautiful and well maintained, as was the villa. Very private and not overlooked. It was nice to come back to after many full days walking. The terrace was a lovely place to sit and relax to have a drink. We had breakfast on the terrace in the mornings. One nice touch we thought was to provide a selection of adult plastic glasses that can be used outside. Also beach and pool towels were a bonus. The villa was clean and well equipped. The kitchen was well provided with the equipment required. I would certainly recommend this villa to couples and families.

Great stay at Casa cat

This was our first visit to Casa Cat, and I’m sure it won’t be the last. A really chilled out peaceful stay with great weather for the whole time. Great villa with a fantastic pool area. The pool was 29C at least and just heated by the sun. Everything you need is to hand. TV’s with English channels, games and videos for your kids as well, not that we spent any time inside with the Sun on the pool all day. The Supermarket is only a few minutes’ walk away at El Pueblo. There’s a couple of bars there as well including the Sports bar with all the football you could wish for! El Lagar de Baco – The Wine shop is a great tapas bar and a really nice chilled out place to have a drink as well, very friendly staff and owner. Carlos’s restaurant is excellent, not cheap but still very good value, great quality and you certainly won’t go home hungry.

The Marina is a short cab ride away or a 30 minute walk along the coastal path. A nice walk  and has many restaurants and bars, you’ll be spoilt for choice. We ate and drank in several and all are of a very good standard. There’s also a market there on Wednesday and Saturday.

You can walk to the first Papagayo beach in about 15 mins but remember to wear trainers, the going can get a bit rough but worth the walk. You’ll also need to take any food and water you need as there are no facilities there. Alternatively, hire a Fat Bike and ride to the end and visit all the beaches. You could easily do a round trip in a few hours, but definitely remember your water, it can be a testing ride especially in the heat.

Enough reviewing now, need to plan our next trip!

Coast/Beach:

Las Coloradas has a favoured location adjacent to the fabulous Papagayo sandy beaches that have National Park status and are reputed to be the best and most secluded beaches in the Canary Islands. The nearest beach is about 10 minutes walk. Alternatively you can drive to various other beaches within 10-15 minutes. Those who are keen on walking will love the paved coastal path that will create the longest promenade in Europe, extending along the entire south coast.

Travel:

The airport at Arrecife is about 25 minutes easy drive on excellent roads. Whilst a hire car is not essential most clients decide to have one as rental is inexpensive compared to the mainland and gives complete freedom to explore the island. However, taxis are readily available at the airport and there are excellent & regular bus services to the surrounding area.

Distances:

Playa Blanca village is about 2 miles distant, (about 5 minutes drive) or a 35 minute walk along the paved coastal path passing through the new Rubicon marina enroute. The capital of the island, Arrecife, and the old inland town of Tequise are each about 20 miles away, the latter having the famous Sunday market. Puerto del Carmen is a large and lively resort about 15 miles away. It has a long beach frontage and a very wide selection of bars, restaurants, shops and a picturesque old harbour.

Further Details:Newly opened (July'16) "Hiper Dino" ExpressStore is right on your doorstep in El Pubelo along with it's cafes, restaurants & a typical Sports Bar. Larger "Hiper Dino" supermarket is about a 10 minute walk or a couple of minutes in the car. Excellent restaurant "Casa Carlos" walking distance from villa. Playa Blanca has a wide selection of shops and restaurants together with doctors, pharmacists, etc.

There are many inland and coastal villages displaying the island culture and architecture together with fascinating tourist attractions to cater for all tastes. Man and nature have combined to create some inspirational features including the Timanfaya National Park, a vast volcanic area, best seen from the bus tour that penetrates deep into the lava fields. The drive through the Geria vineyard should not be missed, neither should a trip to Mirador del Rio at the northern end of the island - a cliff-edge restaurant some 2,000 feet above sea level. El Golfo on the western coast is a remote fishing village renowned for it's superb seafood restaurants and fabulous sunsets. Sports fanatics should visit the famous La Santa complex that is about 25 miles away. Lanzarote has many hidden gems that need to be discovered and enjoyed.
