Luxury Villa with Private Pool set in Mature Gardens in Trebaluger

Bedrooms 3
Property type villa
Minimum Stay 7 - 14 nights

About the property

Villa in Trebaluger, Menorca, Balearic Islands -Fast Internet Access, Air Conditioning and Central Heating

A spacious villa, situated in a quiet cul de sac overlooked by one of the oldest of the talaiots, the Talaiot de Trebaluger. It is a 15 minute drive from the airport and Mahon with its beautiful port full of yachts, restaurants and boutiques. The local supermarket is within walking distance of the villa. Both St Lluis, built by the French in the late 1750s, and Es Castell, with its picturesque harbour are nearby. There are sandy beaches within a short drive at Binibeca, Punta Prima and Alcaufar. Tennis, sailing, scuba diving, windsurfing and cricket are all to be found within a few miles. Much of the island is now protected as a UNESCO 'Reserva de la Biosfera' which makes it a favourite for walkers, cyclists, horse riders, birdwatchers and wild flower enthusiasts, especially in the spring. Archaeologists are catered for too with numerous sites to visit.

There is a village shop for basic needs. In St Luis there is a butchers, chicken and fish shop as well as small supermarkets and bakeries.

There are a number of large supermarkets, Lidl on the road from the airport and Eroski on the road to the villa.

About The Owner

We have been coming to the island for 50 years and we are now into the fourth generation of the family. The villa and island offer an escape from the outside world and we have seen a lot of change but there are still secret places and lots left to explore.

Why The Owner chose Minorca (Menorca)

It was built for my mother, she was a keen gardener and we have continued to add to what she created. It is a peaceful location and we all enjoy everything that the island has to offer.

Guestbook comments from the owner

The spectacular Swallowtail butterflies, Hoopoes and Hermann the Tortoise who came visiting the veg garden, sorry not much left!

Notes on accommodation: The villa is equipped to a high standard. It has constant hot water, full oil central heating and has air-conditioning upstairs and ceiling fans in the bedrooms downstairs. The pool is cleaned twice a week and the gardener comes once a week. Sorry no pets or smoking in the house. Outside: The swimming pool is 10 metres long with broad steps into the shallow end. The large garden is a feature of the property with mature palms and Mediterranean plants such as citrus, lavenders, hibiscus, rosemarys, oleanders, podranea and plumbago which host a plethora of wild life. The terraces provide both shade and sun and the large teak table and chairs on the barbecue terrace are under a canopy of bouganvillaea. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Weekly maid service when the villa is cleaned and towels and sheets are changed. A more frequent service is available - at extra local cost. Beach/pool towels are provided.

Fantastic villa with great pool and pretty gardens.

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic relaxing 2 weeks here with our 3 children aged 10 and 13. The house has everything you could need. Lovely kitchen and BBQ area and the outside eating area is great. The pool is very large and set in pretty gardens (with the odd wild tortoise!). It is in a quiet residential area and within 15 mins drive of some beautiful coves great for swimming in the clear water, jumping off the rocks and just relaxing. It was an easy drive all over the island to do watersports and horse riding. Great to have the Internet TV so we didn't miss all the Olympics.

Peaceful, spacious and relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Very well equipped for our stay. We had 2 young children with us and the house suited very well. It was particularly hot this week (36c) and the ground floor is not covered by the a/c and this is the only slight negative

I'm a little late with this review but felt I should really put something on. What a beautiful, peaceful villa. The gardens are lovely and there were some really nice walks along the country lanes. Would recommend a car though.

Owner very helpful with directions, supermarket location and keys arrived in plenty of time. Would suit all age groups and families.
