About the Owner

We live in Spain but my husband, Philip, works every other week in London. My son James is 17 attends English school, and now speaks, writes and reads fluent Spanish (great for translations). We thoroughly enjoy living in Spain especially in this area . Javea has night clubs and plenty going on but also nearby is Moraira which is quieter and very elegant. Our villa is our home and consequently it is furnished to a very high standard. Each year we add something to the villa. One year we put the air conditioning in, then we put the spiral staircase which takes you up to the sun terrace above the garage. Amazing views. This year we are renewing the sun beds. We have never had any complaints and have guests coming back each year. This year we have purchased a jacuzzi.

Perfect Time Perfect Place

We were greeted at Villa Mariposa by Susie and Philip who made you feel at home the moment you walked through the door. The villa was extremely spacious with all the amenities you could possibly want for a relaxing self catering holiday set up in the hills in a most peaceful location. The pool and surrounding areas had plenty of chairs, tables and sun loungers together with cushions for your comfort. There were seven people in our party and everyone had space with the rooms being large and comfortable. All of the bedrooms had very comfortable beds, plenty of wardrobe space and the bathrooms with each bedroom were well equipped. Our time at Villa Mariposa was relaxing, comfortable, fun and we all enjoyed both the villa, surrounding areas with plenty to see and do. We shall be coming back again and also recommending it to our friends. Nothing to fault and loads of pluses.

Villa Mariposa is elegant, quiet and private within a short drive of both Javea and Moraira. We love everything about the area. The sandy beach in Javea has a long promenade (Arenal) with plenty of shops and restaurants. The road is set well back from the beach so the promenade is extremely safe. Just along the coast is the Port of Javea with beautiful boats and beach side cafes. Above the Port is the old town of Javea with its quaint narrow streets (no cars but plenty of parking) boutiques and bars. Moraira has a sandy bay, beautiful shops, restaurants and bars. Both towns have plenty of super markets and there is one near to the villa. There are plenty of water skiing. surfing and scuba diving outlets and horse riding is nearby. We think the area has everything for a wonderful holiday.

The sandy beaches of Javea are just 6 km away. A more secluded but stony beach is at Cumbre del Sol just 5km away with other sandy beaches at Moraira and El Portet about 8 km away. For the more adventurous there are several secluded bays between Javea and Moraira, but access is difficult to some of them. There are also some beautiful coastal walks from Cumbre del Sol towards Cap le Nao


Alicante airport is 90km away to the south and Valencia airport is 120km north. Car hire is highly recommended and can be obtained either at the airports or locally.


Benitachel village is 2km away and the supermarket 1.5km away. Javea port and beach and Moraira are both a 10 minute drive away where you will find plenty of bars, restaurants, shops and beautiful sandy beaches. There are also some very good restaurants and bars a few minutes drive from the villa.

Further Details:

Benidorm with its theatres, night clubs and bars is 30 mins away by motorway. Javea has wonderful restaurants and a couple of night clubs. Javea and Moraira are not over commercialized but offer plenty of boutiques, supermarkets and restaurants. The Javea Arenal offers a long promenade and a large sandy beach with activities for children and safe shallow bathing. Wind surfing, sub aqua and other water sports are available.

The villa has a very efficient alarm system plus electric shutters and double glazed security windows. Tesoro Park (the name of the estate the villa is situated on) consists of luxury villas with large gardens. We are situated at the top of the complex and overlook the valley and the golf course. The gardener comes once a week and keeps the garden extremely well. The pool man cleans the pool twice a week and both men ring the bell before entering the property. Both Javea and Moraira have markets once a week and the nearby town of Teulada is well worth a visit with a flea market on Saturdays. The water at the villa is drinking water, no need for bottled and the fridge has an ice making machine and cool filtered water. The TV has lots of English channels including Sky sports.

  • Notes on accommodation: A large combi boiler provides ample constant hot water and heating if required. There is also a computer and printer, wi-fi and we are connected to Broadband. All bedrooms have air-conditioning and free standing fans if required. 3 bedrooms have en-suite facilities and the fourth has its own bathroom across the hall-way. All bedroom windows and doors also have mosquito nets for use if necessary. The master bedroom has a large private sun-terrace, chairs and sun loungers. Outside: The villa is surrounded by landscaped gardens and has a covered terrace with dining table and 8 wicker chairs. There is also a bar. The terrace surrounding the pool accommodates sun loungers. The pool is totally private and measures 5x11m long and is heated when necessary. The pool is cleaned twice a week and the water tested and treated. Guests are requested to wash suntan lotion off before entering the pool using the shower provided. The garden has mature trees, palms and shrubs. The extensive lawns give ample space to relax for those not wishing to congregate around the pool. The garden has an automatic irrigation system and the gardener comes once a week to maintain the grounds. There is also a large sun terrace on the garage roof reached by a spiral staircase. This has a table, chairs and sun loungers. The garage can normally accommodate two vehicles although it is also used for household storage purposes. Utility Room: Washing machine. Cleaning / Towels / Linen / Maid service: Fresh bathroom towels and linen are provided every week. Other: Covered patio with bar, fridge and CD player. Table for 8, terrace round pool with tables, chairs, sun loungers. Gas BBQ. Windows turn and tilt allowing ventilation whilst giving security, A/c, fans, mosquito nets for bedrooms.
